How Do You Like Living the Chinese Curse in the Church?

The Chinese curse wishes you to live in "interesting times." Well, we certainly can see that these days in the Catholic Church, interesting in a horrifying way like a Stephen King novel. The pope is getting ready to excommunicate the SSPX and the latest rumor is that all the priests of the Society and the laity will be excommunicated as well. Wow! Can that be true?

About 40 years ago a bishop in Hawaii excommunicated several lay members over the TLM and they appealed to Rome and won. How times have changed, eh? They probably would get the cricket treatment today and the excommunication would be allowed to stand. They likely would be accused of "breaking the unity of the Church." Really, folks, do you want to be in unity with a lot of what goes on in the conciliar, synodal church these days? I sure don't!

Cancel Culture from Rome: Pope Leo and Archbishop Vigano

Yesterday I read Archbishop Vigano's letter to the pope. Like he did with the SSPX, Leo  dissed the archbishop first agreeing to a private meeting and then changing his mind and refusing. Hmm...first thing I thought of was "Say yes when you mean yes and no when you mean no."

The Message of Fatima is More Important Than Ever!

The modern church has downplayed Fatima and its message of a coming severe chastisement if the world doesn't mend its ways. Why is that do you think? Could it be that the message of sin and the need for serious penance is distasteful to the zeitgeist of the day?

Bishop Schneider Warned Pope Leo about Five "Wounds" in the Church that Need Healing.

Pope Francis often described the Church as a "field hospital" for sick people. Thinking along those lines, I see Bishop Athanasius Schneider as a doctor who correctly diagnoses the plague invading the Church when so many "doctors" claim the patient is healthy. He brought up five wounds in his December 18th meeting with Pope Leo and described what he sees as the prescription for healing. One of those wounds dealt with the Traditional Latin Mass and the situation with the SSPX.

DELIVER US FROM EVIL: The Achilles Heel of Vatican II

Fr. Collins always cuts to the chase and his observations on the flawed attitudes that accompanied Vatican II certainly have been born out in its implementation whether intended or not by the council fathers. Despite efforts to reform the reform, the faithful continue to see serious desecrations of the holy sacrifice of the Mass, for example the recent "vampire Mass" in Germany. Even more scandalous, in February, at the installation of the Archbishop of Chapecó in Brazil, a female Anglican minister "concelebrated" and received Holy Communion. [Source] She wears the blue stole in the above photo. How can one fathom the faithlessness of all the Catholic priests who participated in that grievous sin against Christ?

Sunday Meditation: Another Vatican Scandal -- Welcoming LGBT Pilgrimages for Jubilee Year

Not again! More hopes dashed to the ground. One hoped when Robert Prevost  XIV stepped out on the balcony of St. Peters as Pope Leo that we would experience a sea change in papal leadership. Yes, we knew he was a close protege of Francis, but hope springs eternal as they say. Many were optimistic because of the traditional vestments and change in tone. The prudent waited, giving Pope Leo the benefit of the doubt and praying. Yes praying for renewal of the Church and a return to sanity.

When Will the USCCB Come Out in Opposition to the Scandalous Fiducia Supplicans?

Don't hold your breath! This is their pathetic response in answer to the Pope's latest blasphemy against God:

WASHINGTON - In response to the Declaration “Fiducia supplicans” (FS) issued by the Vatican’s Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith today, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) offered the following statement from its spokesperson, Chieko Noguchi, executive director of public affairs.

“The Declaration issued today by the Vatican’s Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith (DDF) articulated a distinction between liturgical (sacramental) blessings, and pastoral blessings, which may be given to persons who desire God’s loving grace in their lives. The Church’s teaching on marriage has not changed, and this declaration affirms that, while also making an effort to accompany people through the imparting of pastoral blessings because each of us needs God’s healing love and mercy in our lives.”

Disappearing Blog Posts: Poof, No Criticizing Cardinal Dolan Allowed!

I received the following forwarded email sent out by Christian McDonnell. I'm happy she copied the text of Msgr. Pope's blog article before it disappeared in a puff of incense!
Here’s the full text of the post, copied from blog before it was apparently removed:
Time to End the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and the Al Smith Dinner?
By: Msgr. Charles Pope
The time for happy-clappy, lighthearted engagement of our culture may be nearing an end. Sometimes it takes a while to understand that what used to work no longer works. Let me get more specific.
Decades ago the “Al Smith Dinner” was a time for Republicans and Democrats to bury the hatchet (even if only temporarily) and come together to raise money for the poor and to emphasize what unites us rather than what divides us. But in the old days the death of 50 million infants was not what divided us. We were divided about lesser things such as how much of the budget should go to defense and how much to social spending. Reasonable men might differ over that.

Millstone for Cardinal Dolan -- Again!

Yesterday I was on a blog where a woman expressed her total frustration with the infidelity of so many Catholic bishops and her intention to leave the Church. What precipitated her crisis of faith? The latest scandal in New York by Cardinal, gay-promoting, Timothy Dolan who waxed enthusiastic over a gay group publicly marching under a gay banner in next year's St. Patrick's Day parade.

Ho-hum...We're used to the Cardinal's scandals by now. Why would anyone think he's Catholic in any meaningful sense of the word?

With regard to the disillusioned woman, immediately other Catholics on the blog exhorted her not to do it and she reflected a few posts later that there's no place to go. My dad vented in the same way after Vatican II when Archbishop Borders was destroying the faith in Baltimore. My mom, like the faithful Catholics on the blog, said the same thing...."Where else can we go?" Only Jesus has the words of eternal life, especially when he's being crucified by His own. ("When I return will I find any faith on the earth?")

I trust the woman will stay and fight. But isn't it a tragedy that we have to fight the scandals from clerics within the Church as much as (or more than) we have to fight assaults from outside? Don't give up; keep the faith. As a friend once told Canadian warrior of God, Anne Roche Muggeridge (RIP) who once threatened to leave the Church, "Don't let the bastards drive you out!" There are many bastards (illegitimate children who detest their father) in the Church today. Some of them wear roman collars. But, whenever you find them, pray and fight and never let them drive you away from the way, the truth, and light. There is nowhere else to go!

By the way, I just took the Les Femmes newsletter to the printer and we awarded Cardinal Dolan a millstone. he certainly has earned it over the past few months between shilling for the gays and persecuting faithful priest Fr. Justin Wylie.

Can Anyone Explain Cardinal O'Malley?

His behavior, from the near canonization of Ted Kennedy to being anointed by a faux priest, is just a total head-shaker. With shepherds like these who needs Church enemies? God help us!

"Catholic" Charities that are Anything But!

Another scandal from a Catholic charity, Catholic Relief Services (CRS) (not the first I might add). It's important to realize that many of the big Catholic charities have become nothing but conduits for transferring taxpayer dollars to the third world, often with the same agenda held by the population controllers running the U.S. They can "sell" their evil much easier in Catholic countries by using a "Catholic" agency to do the dirty. And Catholic Relief Services has shown themselves happy to oblige.

Catholic Relief Services distributes abortifacients in Madagascar: on-the-ground investigation

Sad to say, you cannot trust most of the big Catholic charities: Cartholic Relief Services (CRS) is up to its neck in promoting the anti-life message in the third world. Catholic Charities (CC) scandals abound, and the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) sends one third to one half of money collected to Alinsky organizing groups that do their darnedest to undermine the faith and elect politicians diametrically opposed to Catholic teaching. And how do the bishops respond to criticism of these horrendous abuses? They attack the messengers. Very sad.

My suggestion is hold on to your wallet and give to organizations that you have really vetted. If you know a missionary priest in a foreign land who is doing good work, support him! If you have a local Catholic community outreach group that you work with, support it! But don't keep pouring money into these "Catholic" organizations that use your donations to do evil or act as money laundering groups for the death-dealing feds. God help us when we can't trust the princes of the Church to mind the store, but that, unfortunately, is where we are.
