Editor's note: I met Will Goodman a few years ago when I participated in a Red Rose 
Rescue as a sidewalk supporter. I was impressed by his spirit of gentleness and his love for the Lord. Now he's in jail, who knows for how long? Like the J6 prisoners, some of whom remain untried and unsentenced for their "crimes," the rescuers may remain in jail for months waiting...and waiting...and waiting.

The right to a speedy trial has disappeared in this country which is rapidly becoming a banana republic run by corrupt politicians who use the "justice" system to stifle the voices and suppress the actions of their adversaries. The only reason these pro-lifers remain in prison is because their non-violent attempt to save lives was defined as violent because they were charged under the FACE Act. Like Humpty Dumpty in Wonderland, when our tinpot tyrants use words they mean exactly what they want them to mean. They twist and distort reality all they want.

Sunday Meditation: October is Respect Life Month. Will You Join the Pro-Lifers in Jail as They Pray?

May our prayers to end abortion join us in a chain of prayer warriors that circles the world!

Editor's note: This email from jail describes the prayer plan for the month of October, Respect Life month. It also provides the first two weeks of prayer intentions suggested by Will and John as they offer their imprisonment for deliverance. I'm only including the first week and will post the second week next Sunday.

Abortion is a scourge on the earth that Mother Teresa predicted would lead to nuclear war. Certainly, we are long overdo for a violent chastisement that matches the violence against the most innocent among us. Please join in this pilgrimage of prayer for deliverance.

Joan Andrews Bell was among the Garland 9 carted off to jail as they await sentencing for putting their bodies between the babies and their murderer. I once rescued with Joan over thirty years ago, before she was married, on a rainy Good Friday that happened to be my birthday. There were 33 of us which seemed appropriate since Jesus suffered his final passion when He was 33. I wonder how many babies have been saved by Joan and her sacrifices. How many years has she spent in jail for rescuing babies? What a hero who glories in the cross of Christ!

Some, even in the pro-life movement, oppose the rescue movement for "breaking the law." But the reality is that a law which violates God's law is no law at all.

Editor's note: Five rescuers remain in jail for violating the so called FACE Act at a D.C. abortion killing center in 2020. Many political prisoners have shared their experiences of being jailed for defying the tyrants in power who treat abortion like a sacred sacrament.

The kangaroo court trial is over for the "Garland 9" who now face the hobnailed boot of the D.C. (in)justice system. Please pray for these courageous souls that God will strengthen them for what lies ahead. They have laid down their lives for God's "least ones." We owe them our thanks and our prayers.

Off With His Head: Will the Garland 9 Get the St. John Treatment (Figuratively)? Verdict May Come Today!

I've been following the trial of the Garland 9 baby rescuers in D.C. Today the jury will likely reach a decision in this incredibly manipulated show trial.

Today is also the feast of the beheading of St. John the Baptist. Hopefully the Garland 9 will see truth prevail, but whatever happens God will use it for good. The day seems Providential!

Let's examine St. John's sentence. Why was he executed? For several reasons.

• First, he spoke the truth about sin which enraged sinners. Herodias especially could not bear the thought that John was condemning her immoral marriage to Herod. Herod, who wasn't quite lost to the truth, was fascinated by John and liked to talk to him. Every Catholic who has engaged in defending the truth on a controversial issue like abortion, has no doubt experienced this. I remember two explicit occasions when I was speaking during a rescue to pro-abortion individuals with others listening. On both occasions the surrounding friends said, "Don't talk to her!" At one rescue the young man I engaged with responded, "Shut up! I'll talk to whoever I want." In the other, the young lesbian dressed like man, ended our previous respectful conversation with a raised fist shouting, "This is what dyke looks like!" before she walked away with her "friends." Yes, indeed, the lie hates the truth and will do anything to shut it up as Herodias demonstrated by demanding John's death. I was only arrested and imprisoned.
