When I watched the pope bless the block of ice (3:18) I couldn't help feeling like it was a skit from Saturday Night Live. He should be as good to the ICE agents and bless them instead of casting aspersions on the U.S. for their "inhuman treatment of immigrants." What "treatment" is he talking about? - giving illegals $1000 and a free plane ride home if they turn themselves in. The Vatican has walls and laws protecting the Vatican state. Do they "welcome the stranger" coming in with criminal intent?

The Latest Pope Video: Our Biggest Challenge is Environmentalism?
Have you seen the pope's latest video? What exactly is going on here? The green movement promotes one world government and draconian implementation of environmentalism. Is that really what Catholics should be concerned about?
If the pope is going to talk about the sins against the planet, how about these:

Is the Pope Really an Expert on "Climate Change?"
The Pope and Al Gore Seem to be on the Same Page
It used to be called global warming until the data became so inconsistent with a warming climate that they had to regroup. So now it has been rechristened "climate change," but the data still doesn't support it. What's supporting environmentalism is political correctness, money (It's all about redistributing income.), and "green is the new red."
Former Czech President, Vaclav Klaus, an economist, said this in 2011:

global warming is a religion conceived to suppress human freedom....It is used to justify an enormous scope for government intervention vis-a-vis the markets and personal freedom.Amen! Maybe the pope should talk to Klaus before paying allegiance to the church of environmentalism!

Is this a joke? Get Hillary into Drug Rehab!
Clean Cookstoves Top Hillary's Agenda
If it was April 1st, I'd think this was a joke. It sure makes Hillary Clinton and the State Department look ridiculous! The Chinese kill millions of babies every year through their forced abortion policy. They persecute dissidents like the courageous Chen Guangcheng who opposes the evil. They imprison Catholic priests and bishops who dare to teach Christ's truth....
And Hillary's chief concern is getting them to use clean cookstoves? Guess she wants to prove she can take the heat in the kitchen. Hey, if she's so concerned about the environment, let her find out what they're doing with all the baby bodies. Are they in the landfills? In the sewer system? Polluting the lakes and streams?
You know that joint that Bill smoked but didn't inhale? Hillary apparently inhaled big time and still is!

First Catholic Green School
I picked this video up from James Evans' post at Orate Fratres. Now I'm all for composting; I'm a gardener and I think it's great to teach kids to be good stewards of the earth. But I wonder what's going along with this "green" education. The song at the end, "I will save the earth," puts environmental activism above those issues that will really save the planet. The greatest threat to the earth, as Mother Teresa often said, isn't global warming or failure to recycle, it's abortion (and other sins that go along with lust). The planet is drenched in the blood of children. That's not all. Artificial estrogen from chemical birth control pollutes our rivers and ground water feminizing male fish and doing God knows what to humans.
Where is the first Catholic school for life that puts dedication to the culture of life at its center? Consider the impact of teaching our elementary children to spiritually adopt unborn babies. Think of how you would foster respect for life by explaining each week and month what's happening to the baby growing in the womb. A school-wide baby shower could benefit local crisis pregnancy centers and a baby tea could celebrate all the new mothers at the school and show off the younger siblings of their older children. How about planting a baby garden filled with plants that remind one of children: baby's breath, lambs ear, miniature roses, dwarf marigolds, etc. Where is that school that puts first things first?
Studies show that young people who attend Catholic colleges are more likely to lose their faith than those who go to secular universities. What an indictment! But if Catholic elementary schools planted and nurtured the seeds of the culture of life in the hearts of little children, think of the bedrock that would be formed by eighth grade.
In order to be a good steward of the earth, you first have to receive the gift of life.

They should have gone to GoToMeeting.Com
The Climate Summit Boondoggle in Copenhagen is having a negative impact on the global carbon footprint. The Wall Street Journal reported the following:
They should have held their sessions via GoToMeeting.com. Think of all the carbon emisssions poor Mother Earth would have been spared, not to mention the city of Copenhagen. All those political gasbags emitting CO2, not to mention methane, is more than one city should have to bear.
Majken Friss Jorgensen, managing director of Copenhagen's biggest limousine company told the London Telegraph on Dec. 5th that she reckoned that between her and her rivals the total number of limos in Copenhagen for the global warming conference has already broken the 1,200 barrier. The French alone rang up last Thursday and ordered another 42. "We haven't got enough limos in the country to fulfill the demand,' she says. 'We're having to drive them in hundreds of miles from Germany and Sweden."
And the total number of electric cars or hybrids among all those limos? "Five," said Ms. Jorgensen.

The difference between liberals and conservatives
The first picture was taken on the Mall after the tea party on Saturday. The second was taken after the Inauguration last January. Now which of these crowds cared about the environment? No surprise here: it's the nature of liberals to figure someone else will always clean up after their mess. Who would you rather have as a neighbor?

Targeting American Children for Radicalism
What's all the hoopla about the president talking to the nation's children? Wouldn't it be useful to have a president exhort kids to stay in school, avoid drugs, alcohol, and sex, treat classmates with respect, and be patriotic Americans who love God, family, and country? Not a thing, of course, but we all know that's not the president's message. Obama's addressing the kids is one more sttempt to promote the cult of personality. It isn't about urging kids to be patriotic American, it's about "serving" THE ONE. And that's why parents are up in arms.
Michelle Malkin pegged it when she quoted Obama chum William Ayers who said, "education is the motor-force of revolution." And every time Obama gets ahold of the kids the message is geared, not to be a "teaching moment," but a propaganda session. See the Hollywood video below which Malkin says was shown to school children in Farmington, Utah without their parents' knowledge or consent. She concludes her article saying, "This is why informed parents do not trust the Educator-in-Chief and his 'comrades.' You can take Obama from the radicals in Chicago. But you can't take the Chicago radicalism out of Obama."
Watch these Hollywood democratic clones say they'll flush "only after a deuce and never a single," drive hybrid cars, and work with pro-abortion UNICEF because they luuuuv the president. They'll smile more, use less plastic, and plant trees. They pledge "to be of service to Barack Obama" (while kissing their biceps). This is laughable considering these elites consume more in a month than many large families do in a year. Remember when American's pledged allegiance to the flag representing their country. In the Obama-nation patriotism is passe, serving a partisan political agenda is the new fashion. Get out your barf bag before you watch Demi and her buds do the liberal tap dance. It may sound like a spoof, but they're dead serious (as in expanding the culture of death). Parents beware -- this is one more Alinsky-inspired, community organizing manipulation!

The Climate Change Con Artists Exposed

George Will gets my vote for the Voice of Common Sense Award. His article Dark Green Doomsayers points out that only 30 years ago the same folks wringing their hands over global warming today were running in circles hysterically warning of the coming ice age. Then and today the message was the same: massive starvation, the end of life as we know it, etc. Will aims a hit at one of my favorite Chicken Littles, Paul Ehrlich, the bug scientist who wrote the attack on babies called The Population Bomb. Well, the bomb turned out to be a dud and if all the babies aborted since 1973 were alive today we'd have a lot more taxpayers contributing to our economic base.
Read the article and laugh. These guys don't care about the climate; they love hysteria. It does two things -- 1) Makes money to SOLVE THE PROBLEM (even if it doesn't exist) and 2) Provides an excuse to expand government control.
God calls us to be good stewards of our world. That doesn't mean we have to swallow the snake oil being peddled by the likes of Al Gore.
