Iran is claiming the elementary school was hit by U.S. Missiles. Where's the Proof?

Iran is claiming that an elementary school in the southern part of the country was blown up by combined Israeli/US forces. The fact that the school was hit by a missile seems to be confirmed [Source], but whose missiles did it? It's prudent to be slow to jump to conclusions when the info is coming from a regime that's killed 30,000 of its own people and has a history of lying propaganda! 

How Liars Lie to Say Words Don't Mean What They Say!

I wrote yesterday about how language is being manipulated and used to attack the truth. Immediately after writing that post, I came across a blatant example. Governor Tim Walz, candidate for Vice President, represents the most radical wing of the Democrat party. Among his atrocities in Minnesota are new teacher licensing rules set to go into effect in July 2025 before the start of the school year. [Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standard Board Standards of Effective Practice] The rules will force teachers to respect and affirm in the classroom a panoply of abominations, in fact all of the liberal talking points about gender, sex, diversity, etc. Here's some wording from the rules:

Do you ever think about how your are being twisted and turned by experts in language manipulation, semantic gymnastics, and propaganda? I didn't watch the opening night of the Democrat convention. There's only so much nausea a person can stomach. I did however go to last night's six-plus-hour yawn-fest on YouTube and scroll through it. The first thing I noticed was the absence of American flags. No surprise there. Propaganda Isn't Necessarily a Dirty Word! Truth vs. Deception!

John Steinbeck wrote The Moon Is Down as a propaganda novel during World War II. (See my original post about it here.) The book was almost immediately made into a film which was released in 1943. I watched the movie last night and in the credits was a note that war bonds could be purchased in the theater. Interesting bit of trivia.

Once again "experts" say they cannot for the life of themselves figure this thing out. They say that the monkeypox "has mainly been hitting young men who have sex with other men but that doesn't mean it's being sexually transmitted." That's true because the disease could be transmitted via various other erotic ways.

The lesions associated with monkeypox predominately appear on male genitals belonging to men who "self-identify as having sex with other men". These poxed men who "self-identify as having sex with other men" live predominately in the Collective West - Europe, North America and Australia. 

Going Out Like a Lion: The Predictable Repeated Attacks on the SSPX by Church Militant!

Surprise! Surprise! Church Militant is coming out with another hit piece on the SSPX. It's become their M.O. so no one should be surprised. I know nothing at this point about the piece except that I watched the promo. It's scheduled to air on March 31st and crackerjack investigator, Christine Niles, introduces it with the title "Black Trads Matter." Note the snide ridicule. Always, always, those of us devoted to the traditional Latin Mass are described and dismissed as "trads." That is a typical propaganda tool and one of Alinsky's rules for radicals. You freeze the opponent and then ridicule him. It's a tactic well known throughout history. Think of the terms kike, mackeral-eater, spic, cracker, nigger, gook, cockroach, etc. ad nauseum. A friend recommended the documentary, The Century of Self, and I'm finding it fascinating, especially the impact of Freud's nephew, Edward Bernays, an expert at manipulating the masses using psychological techniques that identified their underlying desires. Bernays was diabolically brilliant!

It certainly explains Madison Avenue manipulation and political propaganda. Planned Parenthood is using it right now with their hiring of a "crisis management firm" to control the disaster caused by the release of the videos showing their barbarism.

But the performance has reached a higher, uglier decibel level under the Obama administration....As has been reported, and is unmistakably evident to all but the most naïve, federal employees have been ordered to exploit this crisis, to make the government shutdown as uncomfortable as they can....One infamous culmination is the despicable display at the World War II Memorial at the Mall, which has been blocked off, wired off, and barricaded so no visitors can get near it. Critical Thinking Skills: Teach them to your children!

The discussion over Harry Potter (see yesterday's post) got me thinking about teaching children to be critical thinkers. I've been discussing the books with our oldest grandchild (16) who is pretty astute when it comes to seeing the right and wrong of things. I asked her once what Catholics believe and she replied that we have two creeds, the Apostles Creed and the Nicene Creed, that summarize our beliefs. We went on to discuss Holy Tradition and the Protestant focus on "sola scriptura" with no authority to back up their interpretation. It was an adult discussion and she held her own. Obviously, she didn't just memorize the prayers; she knows their importance. In a discussion on religion with a Protestant, I have no doubt she would be a good little apologist. I also am confident she could read Harry Potter and discuss its problems with insight and intelligence. Unfortunately, many of the children consuming the Potter ethic are much younger and more impressionable. Certainly some of the violence is inappropriate for middle school children regardless of what you think about the rest of the books.

But let's speak generally for a minute: what about "questionable" books, plays, movies, etc. Do they have a place in education? Well...I have mixed feelings. Obviously, some materials are so evil and perverse that no one, adult or child, should ever be exposed to them. The Marquis de Sade springs to mind. The lawyer husband of a good friend of mine was adamant that Silence of the Lambs was such a channel for evil, no one should ever watch it. I respected his opinion enough to steer clear. The devil cannot attack us directly through our reason, but our imagination offers him an open entrance if we fill it with evil images and pictures. He can draw on them forever as a source of temptation and seduction.

On the other hand, films can also be used to teach. I generally don't go to R movies, but a number of years ago I rented Philadelphia because it was being shown at a nearby Catholic high school that was always shilling for "tolerance" for homosexuals. The movie is a brilliant piece of propaganda for the "gay" lifestyle. Watching it with young adults and discussing the elements used to undermine the truth and promote the lie could be a valuable lesson in discernment.

The same can be true of books. I can see using Harry Potter as a lesson in how authors distort images and teach moral relativism and, of course, the occult (which has been discussed so often I'll not belabor it again.) Consider how the unicorn image is reversed from a symbol of Christ to a symbol that supports evil. Voldemort consumes the blood of the unicorn to strengthen his evil, but in medieval art, the unicorn is a Christ image. Christ's blood is the source of our salvation. And this isn't the only image in Harry Potter that is turned upside down. It's confusing and sowing confusion is a tactic of the enemy.

The series is also a study in moral relativism. The students at Hogwarts can justify anything for their "good" ends. Unfortunately, rationalization is endemic to frail, fallen humanity and Harry Potter defends it throughout the story -- especially in his relationships with his stereotyped relatives. In general the books preach gnosticism. Some characters, the magical ones, are higher than the unenlightened "muggles." They have special knowledge (of the occult) that makes them better than others. The ideas presented are seductive and it is not surprising that the books attract.

The heart of man longs for the spiritual and his curiosity tempts him to seek forbidden knowledge, for example about the future. It's not surprising for a faithless age to seek spiritual consolation in the wrong places. Harry Potter can be used to dissect these truths and recognize the seductive reasoning that makes man vulnerable to evil. The books also illustrate that the devil can appear as an angel of light. As Thomas Aquinas says, man always seeks the good. So, of course, there is good in the story. But evil is also portrayed as good when it's used to achieve a good end. That is a moral impossibility, an evil masquerading as good. That's a useful lesson for youngsters to learn if they, in fact, learn it. But that requires guidance for impressionable young minds that tend to read uncritically and soak up ideas like a sponge without filtering out whatever poison is in the glass.

So the question for parents is, do you have enough time to teach using Harry Potter? If you don't, what will your kids learn reading the series on their own and uncritically?

My final point is -- There is so much out there to read and study; we all have to make choices. Is it worth is to pass up the better and best to focus on Harry Potter and other questionable books like the Twilight series? That's a question parents need to reflect on and consider while monitoring their children's choices and teaching them to be critical thinkers and critical readers.

Homosexuals: They're after tiny tots!

A few days ago I blogged about a California school that took a group of first graders on a field trip to their lesbian teacher's "wedding."

Well, the indoctrination isn't just happening outside the school these days. The propaganda is inside the classroom, up close and personal. Did you think little Sally was learning to get along, be line leader, learn her letters, etc.? We can't vouch for that, but be assured that she knows what "coming out" is. Here's what a mother in Haywood, CA learned about her daughter's "education."

When one mother asked her daughter earlier this week what she was learning in kindergarten at the school, the 5-year-old replied, "We're learning to be allies [with homosexuals]." The mother also learned that her daughter's kindergarten classroom is regularly used during lunchtime for meetings of a Gay Straight Alliance club.

We're talking elementary school here, folks. That means the school is teaching kids in sixth grade (eleven and twelve-year-olds) that they're homosexuals. Talk about sick!

Brad Dacus, president of Pacific Justice Institute, commented, "Do we need any further proof that gay activists will target children as early as possible? Opponents of traditional marriage keep telling us that Prop. 8 has nothing to do with education. In reality, they want to push the gay lifestyle on kindergartners, and we can only imagine how much worse it will be if Prop. 8 is defeated. This is not a scenario most Californians want replayed in their elementary schools."
