|We need St. Dominic's inspiration|
in our warfare against today's heretics!
Today is St. Dominic's feast day. I've had a special friendship with St. Dominic from childhood when I chose him to be my confirmation saint in fifth grade. And what a faithful friend he's been to me.
Over the years I've done a lot of speaking (preaching?) on pro-life both in formal talks and sidewalk counseling and conversations. I think St. Dominic is always by my side when I field difficult questions and deal with difficult situations. I thought of him today and about his confrontation with the "liberals" of the Middle Ages. Among them were the Albigensian heretics.
Old heresies never die! Our era is overrun with modern Albigensians and the latest illustration is a gruesome horror flick scheduled for release in September. The theme of The Hunt involves kidnapping "deplorables" and making them the prey of elite big game hunters. Sometimes, Hollywood is honest about their evil!
From the article:
In the past few days we’ve been hearing a lot about how Donald Trump’s rhetoric is apparently to blame for the El Paso shooting, yet Hollywood apparently lacked the foresight to think that a movie promoting violence against “deplorables” might be in bad taste until after the shootings in El Paso and Dayton, as only now is Universal rethinking their promotional strategy for the film.Surprise! Liberalism makes you stupid and blind to your own evil behavior just like the Albigensians.
St. Dominic would totally get it. The Albigensians hated marriage because they considered the flesh and fleshly union evil. Prostitution and concubinage were preferable to marriage because they were less permanent. Thus spousal abandonment was a virtue (divorce culture?). The Albigenisans winked at any immorality with the body because, after all, the flesh was evil so what could you expect? Besides what you did with your body was totally separate from your spirit. (So drug it, abort it, contracept it, kill it...do whatever you want with it.)
They would no doubt have cheered the mantra, "My body, my choice." They were pro-suicide since it released the entrapped "good" spirit from the "evil" material body. In fact, they were in love with death since it killed off the material evil body and freed the soul from its union with corruption. Any of this sound familiar? The Albigensians no doubt would be comfortable in the current culture. I remember a "clinic" escort telling me how great abortion was since it sent the baby back to God. He's dead now. Poor Jim, he loved his dog, Pumpkin, and fought for a law to require veterinary clinics to have staff on duty at night. He had no love or concern for the poor dismembered babies. Lord, have mercy on Jim. I hope he repented in the end. Having thought of him, I'll offer my rosary today for his salvation.
Yup, liberals make good Albigensian heretics! St. Dominic, help!
Pray for liberals today, especially through the intercession of St. Dominic and the rosary. Liberals love violence. What normal person would turn "killing" Trump and his deplorable followers metaphorically (and sometimes literally) into entertainment? Talk about sickos! And there are many examples to which one could point. The baseball shooter, Kathy Griffin and her decapitated Trump, Rand Paul's attacker, the Central Park Julius Caesar actors stabbing a Julius Caesar-Trump look-alike.
Ah, but liberals posture and preen as so morally superior to the rest of us. After all, they recycle and buy free-trade coffee, and drink green tea. Meanwhile they champion child-killing, assisted suicide, euthanasia, perverting children at drag-queen story hours, etc.
Pray for the Lord to raise up warriors like St. Dominic to convert our modern day heretics. While they fantasize about killing us, we fantasize about converting them so we can meet merrily in heaven.
