Sacrilege at a Portland Parish as Foolish Old Farts Interrupt the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass!

A meeting of the Foolish Old Farts society? Hey folks, age is supposed to bring wisdom!
Ah...progressive Catholics. What a gift they are to the Church. Like Judas they bring into strong relief the difference between truth and error, fidelity and rebellion. And so, dear readers, I give you today a group of loony-tune, self-professed Catholics who want to create their parish in their own image and likeness rather than God's. But a protest during holy Mass? No Catholic hearts among these geriatrics! As they say, "There's no fool like an old fool.

I'm not going to say much about the foolish fanatics' farce at St. Francis of Assisi. That's already been done by One Mad Mom's and Rod Dreher. Besides, the video below says it all. No doubt, they believed airing their serious sacrilege would win them supporters. Well...perhaps...among the Call to Action heretics and their ilk.

Note a few things in the video. The protesters look like a bunch of holdovers from the 70s and, judging from the numbers in the pews, this is anything but a thriving parish. No doubt all the real Catholics fled years ago. That's what "progressives" do to the faith, kill it and celebrate the death.

Note that the man who chides the protesters is YOUNG, unlike the rebels. Check out the video below and then I invite you to do what I'm doing.  Send a note and a check for the parish to Fr. Kuforiji thanking him for his fidelity and his attempt to restore to Christ what is clearly a renegade church.

I'm also offering my Mass and rosary today for all those poor misguided "progressives" who want a parish made in their own dissenting and rebellious image. May God have mercy on them and give Fr. Kuforiji the grace to love and be patient with these wayward children. They act like a bunch of two-year-olds having tantrums! Although, actually, my two-year-old grandchildren always behaved better than this in church.

For those who want to contribute to St. Francis, here's the contact information.

  1. Foolish old farts indeed. As a fellow old fart, let me tell them I find this not only embarrassing, but outrageous. If I could address them I would say there is no excuse under the sun for interrupting the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, and what you have done is shocking and illuminating. Shocking that you or anyone would think it appropriate, you have insulted God, and illuminating because you have made yourself perfectly transparent to others, but believe me, that is not a good thing in your case.
No matter how good your intentions were or are, you have done a great wrong and need to repent, go to Confession, and start your chain of apologies, beginning with God and then the priest and community you have wronged.

  4. Dangerous precedent. Is there sop for handling such disrupting?

  5. This same thing happened to me in my parish, with the only difference being the small group of malcontents would call the Dean of the Clergy in our County to register their “concerns”. And the Dean, being a VII priest, was receptive to them.

The bottom line: these folks want a Protestant church, devoid of authentic Catholicity, which they wouldn’t recognize if it bit them in the arsh!

  6. Yes, we had a similar series of events in Tasmania, Old fools resisting any attempt to instill/install and sense of reverence back into the liturgy. I can only endorse every word from Kathleen 1031
