One of Francis's worst moves was appointing a woman, a nun, to oversee all the religious congregations in the Church, both men and women. That was just one of his innovations, essentially changing canon law.
It is the responsibility of the clergy, not women religious or laity (neither men or women) to teach, GOVERN, and sanctify. Religious sisters and laity can cooperate in the work, but canon law prohibits their playing a juridical role. Check out this article:
Joseph Ratzinger in his book, Democracy in the Church: Possibilities and Limits, spoke of the "absolutely inadmissible de facto separation between the power of order and that of government" which relegates the sacraments to the "magical" and ecclesiastical jurisdiction "to the profane."
Archbishop Vigano also weighed in with a reality check about Pope Leo's early days.
It is normal and humanly understandable that more than a decade of open persecution of Catholics by the one who presented himself as their Pope would lead many of us to desire a truce, hoping that Our Lord would give His Church - if not a new Pius X - at least another Benedict XVI.
But this legitimate desire - certainly animated by good feelings and love for the Church - cannot transform itself into a virtual reality in which, even against all evidence, everything must necessarily be read as a confirmation of what we would like, and not of what is really happening. We cannot build for ourselves a "virtual church" with a "virtual papacy" that we love and serve in a consoling but unreal fiction.
The confirmation of a notorious heretic to the Cathedra of Saint Gallen in Switzerland; the appointment of a nun as Secretary of the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, in line with the appointment of a Prefectess by Bergoglio; the repeated references to the heretical documents of his predecessor and to Vatican II; the declarations on ecumenism and synodality, and finally the acceptance of climate fraud; all place Robert Francis Prevost in evident and disturbing continuity with his predecessor, and it will certainly not be the stole and mozzetta that will change reality.
Along with this, we have evidence of a new crackdown on the TLM (Traditional Latin Mass). In Charlotte, the bishop has banned the Mass of the Ages from all diocesan churches. He's relegated it to a Protestant church in Moorefields only two Sundays a month.
Steve Bannon interviewed Liz Yore about what's happening. Check out the interview here.
I couldn't help thinking of Antonio Gramsci as I listened to the interview. Gramsci developed a theory of Communism that replaced violent overthrow of western cultures with infiltration and the slow march through the institutions. If you're interested read more about Gramsci here.
It looks like enthusiasm over Pope Leo was premature. Let us pray for him, but have no illusions.
Yes, that was a short honeymoon, wasn't it. It's clear now, what he is, clear enough. Schism, in my humble opinion, has been here for years now, but as it appears Leo is allowing the TLM to be banned, it seems likely to be more manifest. Ill speak for myself and admit to fatigue of the drama. According to the blog Catholic Esquire, canon law was changed in 1983, section 129, i believe. It is legal for laity to govern. Its just been sitting there, unused. But these men are ready and willing.
ReplyDeleteThere was no honeymoon for me. There were signs before the conclave.
ReplyDeleteI was shocked he ripped the mask off this soon as well. I thought too he would do a little more smoke and mirrors, you know keep up the trust me I'm from the government position. I hated the guy from the start and saw thru him the minute I spotted a smiling toothless Cupich standing next to him. What is the old song from the 80s? The boys are back. The outlook at the pub was guarded but everyone had come to reality. I do feel sorry for you guy really hoping maybe the church was finally on the mend. As long as the college of criminals remain, reform is impossible. Archbishop Vigano finally weighed in on Leo and his conclusion was mainly a Francis clone. In twitter it was in Italian but I translated it to English and you can find it on my front page of the site. https://tridentinecatholic.com/wp2/
ReplyDeleteIt was really very touching, he had great empathy for us all saying after 12 years of persecution trying to find the light at the end of the tunnel. I also added a section I call in brief where I list talking points of what Leftie Leo has been up to. first 2 posts

Kind of a tong in cheek review
I guess its back to the drawing board as we draftsman would say. Oh the Vigano post will probably be second on the page, I have to post your piece up there. It depends on how quickly I get your post up it will be either 1 or 2. Just for the record, welcome back to the fight! Now it will be interested to see if and when trad inc returns to reality. They have a lot of egg to wipe off their faces.

DeleteChurch Militant definition: “In Catholic theology, "Church Militant" refers to the Catholic Church on earth, where believers are engaged in a spiritual battle against evil. This struggle is considered a spiritual warfare against sin, with the ultimate goal of entering heaven and joining the Church Triumphant. The Church Militant is also known as the Pilgrim Church, representing those journeying toward heaven”.
IOW - the fight for the Holy Mother Church will continue until the end of our individual lives, and indeed until the end of time. In heaven, that conflict will come to an end. Is it surprising, that since we struggle, as Catholics, with individual sin that the Church Body also struggles with sin; and always has?
As far as I’m concerned, the main sin within the Church now, so soon after the new Pope’s election, is not what the Pope does or does not do but the widespread disrespect, hate and disobedience rendered toward him - so soon after his election - primarily by the seemingly most “orthodox” Tridentine Catholics.
Respect and obedience to the validly elected Pope (not blind obedience btw) are primal dogmas based on the words of Christ Himself.

The invisible ruler and governor of the Church is Christ; the visible one, the Pope, successor of Peter, Prince of the Apostles, fills the Apostolic chair.
It is the unanimous teaching of the Fathers that this visible head is necessary to establish and preserve unity in the Church.
For as we deem Christ not only author of all the Sacraments, but also the invisible minister, so has He placed over His Church which He governs by His invisible Spirit, a man to be His vicar and the minister of Hos power. A visible Church requires a visible Head; therefor the Saviour appointed Peter head and pastor of all the faithful ... He willed the very same power (feeding His sheep) of ruling and governing the entire Church to descend to Peter's successors.
Above all these (Priests, Bishops, Archbishops, Patriarchs) the Catholic Church has always placed the Supreme Pontiff of Rome. He sits in that Chair of Peter and it is in him the Church recognizes the highest degree of dignity and a universality of jurisdiction derived not from the decrees of men or Councils but *FROM GOD HIMSELF*. Wherefor he is the father and guide of all the faithful, of all the Bishops and of all the Prelates, no matter how high their power and office; and as successor of St Peter, as true and lawful Vicar of Christ our Lord, he governs the universal Church.
The Apostle (Paul) also teaches that they (Bishops and pastors) are entitled to obedience. 'Obey your prelates, and be subject to the,; for they watch as being to render an account of your souls' (Heb 13:17). Nay, more, Christ the Lord commands obedience even to wicked pastors: 'Upon the chair of Moses have sitten the scribes and Pharisees: all things, therefor, whatsoever they shall say to you, observe and do; but according to their works do ye not, for they say and do not' (Matt 23: 2-3).
The first mark of the Church consists in unity: 'My dove is one, my beautiful one is one' (Canticles 6:8). So vast a multitude, scattered far and wide, is called one for the reasons mentioned by St. Paul 'One Lord, one Faith, one baptism' (Eph 4:5).

The authority and dignity of the Pope - Vicar of Christ, Viceroy of Heaven, Supreme Pontiff - is meaningless if it depends upon the individual assent of every one of the billion of Catholics in their individual opinions. It simply is, as a matter of objective truth. He is not God, or a god, but he is directly connected to God and in the structure of God's Catholic Church it is the Pope who is the "visible head" to Christ's invisible reality as Head.
We have no choice in this matter. Our respect and obedience owed to the validly elected Pope is core to our nature as Baptized and Confirmed Catholics. It is not subject to our opinions on his position on a political or theological scale, or who voted for him in the Conclave, or what his chosen programs as Chief Shepherd might be. The Chair of Peter was legally vacant without doubt. Pope Leo XIV was validly elected Supreme Pontiff without doubt. Any judgements we may have about him must be as those of a child to their parent. His authority is from heaven itself ... from God Himself, on His Throne. He answers to God and I will respect his authority in the line of all Popes with him.
And to those who declare him no Pope - your position is not just precarious but over empty air.
It never made sense to me how, if Bergoglio was the False Prophet, anything good could follow.
ReplyDeleteYes, God will test the Holy Father what he’s made off, he’s in the best place, the Highest Office among the ravenous wolves. Royal Way of the Cross must be trodden by every successor of Peter, and His faithful. The best thing that we can do is offer prayers for Holy Father, and the ‘remnant’ God fearing ‘consecrated’ within the walls of the Vatican.
ReplyDeleteTime will tell.
Nothing exists without a reason, nothing in the Church, and the world happens by chance; everything, everything without the least exception, is part of the magnificent plan of divine Providence. We, his creatures are short of understanding His Providence. …..Lord increase our faith!
May God appease His enemies, grant us a grace to be worthy of ‘holy perseverance, and holy hope’, so, we, Catholics be worthy of traditional Peter who is a ROCK, a LION, and not a WOLF!
Viva Cristo Rey!
Welcome back. Great relief, that you're okay. I offered few 'Ave' for you and yours.
