I'm a fan of Victor Davis Hanson, although I don't always agree with him. In this video, we parted company when he began talking about the Civil War, but that's a topic for another post. On the whole, I find him a trustworthy historian with clear insight. If you want to understand the future, you need to understand the past. But, like Big Brother in 1984, the servants of deceit are destroying and rewriting the past. When they tear down statues of the Founding Fathers and deface and burn historic buildings, you know they hate our heritage. What they want to erect in their place is a utopia of evil.
Hanson's video is spot on with regard to the motives of the liberals. They hate the truth if it fails to serve their power-seeking goals, so they have to suppress it or twist it. And yet, even with the help of the drive-by media and billionaires determined to destroy the country, they're losing ground. While they accuse Trump of being a tyrant, they do all they can to disenfranchise conservative, ordinary Americans who have little personal power but lots of common sense. We see their tyranny in the tsunami of censorship, release of thousands of violent criminals across the fruited plain, etc. We need to embrace vigilance and always speak the truth. Will we sometimes make mistakes? No doubt! That's why it's essential to be willing to listen to others when they offer evidence (not feelings and name calling) challenging our perspectives.
In conclusion, let us all be vigilant and pray for the truth-tellers out there like Hanson who have the audience to make a difference. I'm offering one of my rosary intentions today for him and may his tribe increase exponentially. And may we all be members of God's tribe of disciples fearless in speaking truth to power. The courage to do that starts with knowing, loving, and serving God Who is truth itself.
