Another Unconstitutional, Undeclared War by a President Who Promised Peace!

My friend Dexter Duggan who writes for The Wanderer has an excellent piece on his substack site relating to the attack on Iran.

Don't You Wish You Could Do to Your Budget What the Feds Do? Print Money!

Written in the blood of taxpayers!

I was at the hospital yesterday getting blood work done. It felt like a metaphor of what the Biden administration is doing to the taxpayers these days. (Not that bleeding the taxpayers is anything new or restricted to Democrats!) The phlebotomist taking my blood was a delightful young mom with a four-year-old. She was telling me how she has nothing extra this year to buy gifts. She lives in an apartment building with her parents on the floor upstairs and an elderly friend downstairs. Her son and her cat roam the building freely among these loving neighbors.

The Children in Congress

Progress, far from consisting in change, depends on retentiveness; when experience is not retained, as among savages, infancy is perpetual. Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it. This is the condition of children and barbarians, in whom instinct has learned nothing from experience. - George Santayana

Warren Buffet Has Great Idea to Fix the Deficit!

I'm not a Warren Buffett fan. Anybody as pro-bortion as he is has a few moral screws missing. (See here and here.) But his idea for linking Congressmen's reelection eligibility to the deficit is a winner along with a bunch of other suggestions circulating on the internet that I've copied below the video.

The founders never envisioned career politicians voting themselves huge pensions and making millions by selling their influence. It's time to have a citizen Congress again. Let legislators at both the national and state levels invest in their own 401K plans and abide by the same laws and standards they inflict on others. Let them get real jobs and work for a living! It's high time they started being "equal" instead of "more equal than others."

Recommendation for a Congressional Reform Act:

Congressional Reform Act of 2011
1. No Tenure / No Pension: A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.

2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security: All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.

3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.

4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI (Consumer Price Index) or 3%.

5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.
7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/12. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.

Obama Wants Federal Office of Global Warming!

New federal office for global warming

The president can set up anything he likes, but Congress has to fund it. The problems we have in this country fall at the feet of the men and women on Capitol Hill. The executive branch can only do what the 500+ legislators fund in the budget. The problem is the democrat-controlled Congress has no problems spending all of our money and saddling our children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with massive debt. Throw the bums out in 2010! We can't afford them.

The truth about global warming in the District of Columbia

Well, the truth is out. The cause of global warming, at least in the District of Columbia, is all those gas bags in Congress emitting hot air. As soon as they all left town temperatures dropped way below normal. Hey, I'm not kidding. Check it out here. Research is still necessary to explain the drop in June temperatures in many other parts of the world. Maybe all the politicians in those locales went on vacation as well.
