Is Hantavirus the New COVID? Or is Another Scare Tactic on the Horizon.

Fear is a great tool for controlling people. Remember COVID. The hysteria was palpable and created division even down to the lowest level of interactions. In my own parish and community people were at each other's throats over social distancing and masking. My sister and I got verbally attacked in a local store by a mask-wearing old man. One of my own nephews and his friend accused me on social media of wanting to kill people. Talk about living in Loony Land.

It always amazed me that the "vaccinated" mask wearers worried about those of us who didn't mask. Weren't they protected? Weren't we only endangering ourselves? But that was early days when Fauci et al were still claiming getting jabbed would keep you from getting sick. Now we know the jab made you more vulnerable, killed young men, and damaged the immune systems of those who drank the Kool-Aid. We will be seeing the fall-out for years. But hey! Big Pharma is protected from lawsuits and I doubt Dr. Fauci will ever be prosecuted for his monstrous lies.

When I read about the hantavirus outbreak on the cruise ship and the plane, I couldn't help wondering if this was the next COVID. Be afraid; be very afraid! Moderna is currently working on another vaccine in cooperation with Korea University’s Vaccine Innovation Center.  Another vaccine, more moolah for Big Pharma. Let's make it mandatory to ensure massive income. Hopefully they are not in warp speed development, i.e., untested and more likely to hurt than help. Just put on the white coat and wear a stethoscope around your neck and many will buy the snake oil.

My next thought was wondering whether scientists have used gain of function research to make hantavirus more easily transmitted to humans. After all, the hantavirus has always been linked to rodent contamination not human to human transmission. I remember warnings about the shelters on the Appalachian Trail which often are contaminated by rodent urine and droppings. Human to human transmission was virtually unknown. So what gives?

Dr. Peter McCullough says there is still little evidence of human to human transmission. The principal danger is that the hantavirus can be spread by contaminated dust [source]:
When confined within the ventilation and recirculated air systems of a vessel, the risk of aerosolized transmission from rodent excreta becomes an urgent, systemic concern that demands immediate, independent prophylactic action.

McCullough recommends personal action to limit exposure and reduce the risk of infection. Since I don't fly and have no plans to take a cruise anytime soon, I'm not too worried. We currently have no mice in our house although we've dealt with those little critters in the past. We'll face another invasion if it comes.

So....What will the next scare be? We've been through COVID and Monkey Pox. Rodents are everywhere. But maybe it will be aliens. Whatever! It's easy to control people through fear. We saw that during COVID. In my own circle, even at church, people turned against one another in ways that I would never have believed possible. Even Holy Communion was used against it. Our pastor tried to mandate Communion in the hand. That did not go well and he rescinded his order within hours. It was not our finest moment.

I don't worry too much about things. What's the worse that can happen to you? It isn't dying. We're all going to die. That's inevitable, folks, in case you wondered. St. Ignatius, in his spiritual exercises, urges us to be indifferent to whether we have a long life or a short life. What's important is how we live it.

We really only have the present moment. The next moment isn't guaranteed, although one of my 80 something acquaintances assured me that by being vaccinated he wasn't going to die "today." What a headshaker. He could collapse and die from a stroke or heart attack in the middle of that sentence. Whether or not he did was in God's hands.

In view of the lack of guarantees, I want to live this moment the best I can according to God's will so that I hear myself called "good and faithful servant" when I stand before the Judge. I go to confession frequently because I'm well aware of how often I fail to fulfill that ideal.

One thing we can know for sure. Satan is prowling the world looking for whom he can devour and he has plenty of workers helping him. Some are fallen angels, but many are deceived humans who worship him openly or worship what he appears to offer: money, sexual pleasure, power, etc. We can know these minions by their works and their lies. We saw plenty of them developing the COVID protocols. I still shake my head over the folks who turned major villain, Fauci, into the saint of the hour. I still hope he faces criminal charges like his former senior aide, David Morens. But I also pray he will repent and seek God's mercy. Although I'm not sure he believes in God. He lied bigtime over the origin of COVID. Will he face human consequences? We'll see.

Solzhenitsyn was well aware of the lying villains among us. I think his words ring true today, perhaps even more than in the past:

“We know that they are lying, they know that they are lying, they even know that we know they are lying, we also know that they know we know they are lying too, they of course know that we certainly know they know we know they are lying too as well, but they are still lying. In our country, the lie has become not just moral category, but the pillar industry of this country.”
― Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

So what will be the next big lie to make sure we are all quivering in our boots? We'll see. My advice? Shrug and pray a Hail Mary for the liars, that they will repent and be saved.
