Another Confusing Head Scratcher: Pope Leo Tells Material Heretics "We are One! We Already are!"

If anyone wondered whether Pope Leo XIV is Francis II, he only had to listen to the pope's address to the band of material heretics joining him for the week of Christian unity. Don't get me wrong. I love my Protestant friends, but I would never (and neither would they) agree that we are "already one". But that's what the pope said:
In the passage from the Letter to the Ephesians chosen as the theme for this year’s Week of Prayer, we repeatedly hear the adjective “one”: one body, one Spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God (cf. Eph 4:4-6). Dear brothers and sisters, how can these inspired words not touch us deeply? How can our hearts not burn within us when we hear them? Yes, “we share the same faith in the one and only God, the Father of all people; we confess together the one Lord and true Son of God, Jesus Christ, and the one Holy Spirit, who inspires us and impels us towards full unity and the common witness to the Gospel” (Apostolic Letter In Unitate Fidei, 23 November 2025, 12). We are one! We already are! Let us recognize it, experience it and make it visible!
No, Your Holiness, we are NOT "already one." Another scripture verse says, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven." [Matthew 7:21] How many of these churches defend and advance intrinsic evils that violate God's law?

At funerals and weddings we tell participants who are not Catholic that they should not approach for Communion. (At least at faithful Catholic parishes they do.) Why do we do that? Because we are NOT already one. If we are "already one" then it's no scandal when a woman Episcopal priestess concelebrates at a Catholic Mass. If we are "already one" then it's perfectly fine for us to go to any church to fulfill our Sunday obligation. If not why not?

No, Pope Leo, I am not one, and refuse to be one, with churches that advocate and approve of abortion, contraception, sodomy, and transgender ideology. Not only am I NOT one with them, I actively oppose them! And I don't find this kind of talk charitable. It's like giving a child a steady diet of cookies, candy, and ice cream instead of nourishing food because you want to be best buds and get along. It may make him feel happy at the time and think you're a real hero, but ultimately it will make him sick. When will popes and bishops stop adding to the tsunami of confusion drowning the faithful? How many souls will be lost through bad teaching and error.

Our Lady warned of all this at Akita in 1973:
"As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead. The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by My Son. Each day recite the prayers of the Rosary. With the Rosary, pray for the Pope, the bishops and priests."

"The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres...churches and altars sacked; the Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord.

"The demon will be especially implacable against souls consecrated to God. The thought of the loss of so many souls is the cause of my sadness. If sins increase in number and gravity, there will be no longer pardon for them"

I find it so ironic to see this enthusiastic welcome for those who do not share our beliefs about faith and intrinsic moral evils, while those who embrace the faith completely but go to the Traditional Latin Mass are thrown out of our churches and accused of fostering division. What kind of hypocrisy is working here?

Don't get me wrong. I'm all for working with other denominations when it comes to fighting the horrors going on at the United Nations, for example, or working to end abortion. But to pretend that we are "already one" at an ecumenical religious ceremony is poppycock. "We are [not] one! We already are [not]! Let us recognize it."

Someone will no doubt argue that the pope didn't mean what he said, just like after the outrageous statements of Francis. The explainers always go into overdrive to somehow take a clear falsehood and reframe it to appear true. But words mean something and Pope Leo's words are simply untrue. We are not "already one."

Actually, I'm not sure some so-called Christian denominations even worship the same God. If a Protestant minister calls on God to bless abortion, I suspect he is calling on the demon of death because the God who creates every little baby in the womb certainly does not bless the murder of His least ones! So who exactly is that minister calling on? Clearly he is addressing the spirit who was a liar and murderer from the beginning.

In his apostolic letter Unitate Fidei cited above, the pope quoted St. Hillary writing:

Saint Hilary, on the other hand, testified to the orthodoxy of the laity in contrast to the Arianism of many bishops, acknowledging that "the ears of the people are holier than the hearts of the priests."

Many laity today study the faith of the Fathers and beg the Holy See for clarity and transparency. Instead of bread, we often are given stones wrapped in confusion. Many of the evil bishops (and there are many) simply want little robots in the pew who follow the admonition of every villain to "Pray, pay, and obey." We are happy to obey lawful authority, those who walk in the footsteps of Jesus Christ. Today, though, it's often a challenge to know who they are. The only sure guide is to follow Christ Himself, the apostles, the Fathers of the Church and the saints. We need to remember St. Paul's words to flee those who preach a different Gospel. [2 Corinthians 11] But in order to do that we need to embrace the obligation to know the faith through study. And, then, as true warriors under Christ's standard, we need to fight for the faith.

So let's stop with the fake unity. Jesus prayed at the Last Supper that we all would be one, but I don't think He would be at the week of prayer for Christian unity preaching the gospel of I'm okay, you're okay, telling all the material heretics, "We are one." I don't think he would be saying, "Let's all join hands and sing Kumbaya." I think He would repeat the warning that not all who say "Lord, Lord" will enter the kingdom of heaven...and that includes men in roman collars wearing miters and pectoral crosses or even the white vestments of the pope. Let's pray for them all, but not be fooled when they proclaim things we know are not true.
