So the meeting was held and ended with Fr. Pagliarani saying he would send a response after consultation. And what a response! The letter from the SSPX is available in a number of places including Vatican correspondent, Diane Montagna's, substack. It's a tour de force, a charitable response to the clerics in hobnailed boots and mailed fists with their threats. The rock of the Catholic Society is facing off against the wet noodle of modernist porn-peddling Fernandez representing Rome.
“The best revenge is to be unlike him who performed the injury.”
― Marcus Aurelius, Meditations
Archbishop Lefebvre was nothing like Pope Francis and his like-minded cardinals. My son had a mean cat. If you walked by a chair where the mean cat sat, he would thrust out a paw and scratch you. That was Francis. Pope Leo is more like the cat that rubs up against your ankles and purrs pleasantly, but the claws are there ripping and shredding the faith. The pride of lions gathers in the SSPX and among the Ecclesia Dei orders and among the NO priests who recognize the crisis and continue to do the best they can to defend the faith and bring souls to Christ. Many of them never experienced the TLM. But the young seminarians in the NO reflect a zeal and concern for souls often lacking in their superiors. We need to pray for them.
In the meantime, until sanity returns to Rome, we must keep the faith which is supported by three pillars: Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and the Magisterium. Sad to say one of those pillars, the magisterium, shows evidence of termites eating away at it and threatening the whole. The pillar of Sacred Tradition is also termite attacked. That's why we desperately need the Society. Sacred Tradition must be preserved not gutted to the point the pillar collapses. And we need to equally pray and fast for holy Cardinals and bishops. The rot in the magisterium is well advanced. God help the Judases on Judgment Day!
Let us all embrace Fr. Pagliarani's urgent request to pray. Pray for the Society. Pray for the pope and the bishops. Pray for ourselves and our families. The salvation of souls is what's at stake in this crisis. May we never forget that.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
Mary, Co-Redemptrix and Mediatrix of all Graces, pray for us.
St. Joseph, Pillar of Families, pray for us.
St. Pius X, pray for us.
I found the SSPX during COVID, I believe like you Mary Ann. They are just traditional Catholics, nothing more or less. They bear fruit as Fr. Isaac Mary Relyea points out, and by their fruit you shall know them. And the fruit coming from the Vatican and the ‘New Synodal Church’ is not good and getting worse the past 60 years.
