"The Heresy of Modernism Turns Minds into Oatmeal." Padre Peregrino Explains it all for You.

It's a sad reality today that many in both secular and religious society are "weaponizing language." We see it in the Democrats who call anyone supporting particular policies of Donald Trump Nazis, homophobes, misogynists, gestapo, etc., etc. But in the Church this weaponized language is used primarily against only one group -- those who support Sacred Tradition and embrace the Traditional Latin Mass and the traditional sacraments and rites of Holy Mother Church. We are rigid, schismatic, insane, trapped in the past, etc. You know the drill. And while the pope will meet with material heretics, pagans, pro-aborts, clowns, etc., those who defend Sacred Tradition are treated like lepers. Give us bells to ring to warn all the contracepting, aborting Catholics they need to run for the hills to prevent contamination.

But here's the secret. All these charges are bogus.
Fr. Nix, aka Padre Peregrino has a great article on substack, The Paradox of the Modernists, that explains it all for you. He asks the central question:

Why do modernist heresiarchs publicly honor Anglicans, trannies, satanic American rock stars, abortion-promoters, Buddhist monks, Muslims, Jews, liberal Catholics, prisoners and even animals before they will publicly honor traditional Catholics?

The issue, he says, is bigger than the SSPX controversy. You really need to read his article to get the head-nodding eureka moment! But I'll give you a bit of his answer:

They really don’t believe any of us are heretical or schismatic.

They’re just weaponizing language to scare us into not leaving a cult-like grip held on the quivering psyche of the few Catholics still paying attention. The bad guys know their time is fast-approaching.

Now we can switch from psychology to theology: The fact is that “liberal Catholics” don’t believe anyone in the world in currently in danger of hell. Why? Because the heresy of religious indifferentism has turned their minds into oatmeal which has collapsed into narcissism. If it’s not about God anymore, then it’s now about man. That’s the very definition of the heresy of modernism.

Deep down inside, even liberals know true Catholicism can’t change. So, they aren’t comfortable with traditionalists because they know we believe that.

If you think that sounds like self-aggrandizement just because I’m a rad-trad, ask yourself: Why are trads the only people whom modernists currently shame in public? Not Hindus. Not Jews. Not Buddhists. Not Goths. Not atheists. Not homosexuals. Not Methodists. Not Muslims. Yep, only Catholics who really believe in the perennial teachings and liturgy of the Church are threatened by the modernists in control as being “outside Rome.” You have to admit this pattern is either uncharitable or unreasonable, even if you’re not a traditionalist.

Of course, we traditionalists are only 1% of the baptized Catholics of the world. But the leftists currently in charge of the buildings should not have to beat us up if they really think we are “schismatic.”

But "beat us up" they do with their charges and threats. And the SSPX, representing us, must be crushed because their and our very existence is a reproach to them. Like the pharisees, they gnash their teeth in fury and demand our death in a metaphorical sense. Since excommunication signals spiritual death, that threat is the sword over our heads. But excommunication can be levied invalidly. It obviously was over the 1988 consecrations. Will excommunication this July, if it can't be prevented, be any different? Pope Francis said "schism" didn't bother him. Should false accusations of schism bother us?

The crisis in the Church is real. We cannot let it discourage us or cast us into despair. We cannot leave the Bride of Christ whose head is Jesus Himself. When the men who hold the buildings and deliberately drill holes in the barque, we need to bail water and keep the ship afloat while we work to mend the holes. Faithful laity, as a priest friend told me, always bring the church back. The Judases seem to be thriving today, but wasn't that the case with the traitor before his ghastly end? As long as we refuse the 30 pieces of silver all will be well. We live right now in the passion of Christ, but the resurrection is coming. We simply need to love God, trust Him, pray and sacrifice unceasingly, and speak the truth with courage and determination.
