I Couldn't Make the March Due to a Bout with Strep Throat...

....but our family was well represented. Only three of the adults in the photo were born before Roe v. Wade. All the rest of these dear ones are survivors of the abortion holocaust. If you are a survivor, how can you be pro-abortion? It's only by God's grace and your mom's decision to let you live that you didn't end up like one third of your spiritual brothers and sister - in the landfills and sewage systems of this once great nation!

Pray for them! And may abortion become the unthinkable crime against humanity it is among all those who survived the holocaust.

...and repent for our evil nation that inaugurated the greatest enemy of the unborn ever to sit in the White House. God help us indeed. And may He bring to repentance all those Catholics who voted for a man dedicated to advancing intrinsic evils  with the forced cooperation of all Americans.

No Freedom of Speech for Pro-life Students

The video below shows a confrontation between students, administration, and police at Carleton University in Ottowa, but it could have happened at Notre Dame or Georgetown. Pray for the next generation of pro-lifers. They fill me with hope for the future. May God bless and multiply their efforts. If "offensive speech" has no rights, no speech has rights. What is acceptable today, is the offensive speech of tomorrow. Pray for the zeal and courage of these students. With prayer, zeal, and courage we can make a revolution for life.

How They Hate those Nasty Pictures! Except the Ones at the Holocaust Museum.

A friend of mine, who prefers to remain anonymous because of her husband's job, sent me the following commentary which I think is spot on.

When we see photographs of the Nazi death camps,how does it make us feel? (obviously, horrified).

When we see these photos, do we get angry with the photographers or the activist groups who are showing them to us? (No, we are thankful to them for revealing the atrocities).

Do you think the Germans during WW II (the ones that were left after the Jews, Priests, etc. fled or were exterminated) would have been angry with such photos being shown to them? (Possibly)

Do you think the Germans of the day would have denied that such crimes could be perpetrated by their government? (possibly) Why? (Because they would likely not want to look in the mirror. They would not want to admit that such atrocities could be going on under their noses.)

Why, when Americans are confronted with photos of aborted unborn babies, do they get angry at the activists who are showing the photos to them? Why do they not feel the same horror they do when They see the photos of crimes committed against the Jews? (The obvious answer is because they don't want to look in the mirror. It is easier to vent anger at the deliverer of the message than to acknowledge the silent holocaust that is occurring in our midst.)

To look in the mirror is to admit shame and guilt.

Never Again? Dr. Mengele Lives On in the New Holocaust

Some people will be angry that I use the term "holocaust" referring to experimentation on human embryos. It demeans the "real" holocaust they will say to apply such a term to the little one in the womb or the pre-embryo in the petrie dish. But after reading an incredible article by Dr. Dianne Irving I won't shy from calling it what it is. So many bioethicists today find ways to rationalize every evil under the sun. They balance the "common good" against the life of little ones who "will die anyway." Read Dianne's powerful article and tremble for what our country has become. President Obama with his approval of embryonic stem cell research is setting us on the same path travelled before by mad scientists like Mengele (nicknamed the Angel of Death) who defend their atrocities with scientific terminology and in cultured voices. Packaging evil in nice wrappings may make it more attractive, but the stinking mess inside the box is the same.

As a biochemistry major at the end of my Junior year, I had already had some of my research published earlier, so my department head suggested that I could do something "different" for my senior thesis if I wanted - like medical ethics (bioethics didn't exist yet!). I thought about it, and remembered being touched by a small book we had read in a Junior year Chemistry Conference Course - courses each student was required to take in their major for their last two years in order to integrate their own special fields or "concentrations" with the other areas of knowledge. Junior year's course usually took the students through their academic field's long historical development, and in chemistry we had read a small book by J. Bronowski, a philosopher/scientist/journalist who wrote during and after World War II, especially about the Nazi medical experiments used to achieve eugenics which soon became the focus of the Nuremberg Trials.
