I don't agree with everything in this little film. Reagan made his own contribution to bigger government. And Paul Ryan wouldn't necessarily be my choice for president. But the principles presented here and the facts of a growing out-of-control federal government is right on. Fight the left by choosing the right.

The Eye of Big Brother is Upon You

Today seems to be Big Brother day for me. Judge Andrew Napolitano has an article about the drone technology that is going to be used against American citizens. (I blogged about this recently.) Some, he says, are as small as golf balls. Makes one think of the eyeballs kids play with at Halloween; only this is not a "trick" and it's sure no "treat!" Here are a few paragraphs from the article:

Don’t believe me that this is coming? The photos that the drones will take may be retained and used or even distributed to others in the government so long as the “recipient is reasonably perceived to have a specific, lawful governmental function” in requiring them. And for the first time since the Civil War, the federal government will deploy military personnel insidetheUnitedStates and publicly acknowledge that it is deploying them “to collect information about U.S. persons.”

 It gets worse. If the military personnel see something of interest from a drone, they may apply to a military judge or “military commander” for permission to conduct a physical search of the private property that intrigues them. Any “incidentally acquired information” can be retained or turned over to local law enforcement. What’s next? Prosecutions before military tribunals in the United States?

This is totalitarianism and Napolitano's article is a warning. The eye of Sauron is upon us. Will we go down like lemmings running off the cliff or will we join in fellowship to fight?

Occupy Wall Street: Class Warfare in Action

I've been reading about Occupy Wall Street, but trying to figure out what the protesters want is a challenge. They obviously hate the rich...except, perhaps for George Soros who is helping to finance their campout. Oh...and rich global warming gasbag Al Gore who's come out in support of their protest even though nobody knows what they want. The protesters have started demonstrating at the homes of rich NYC execs. I haven't heard that they have a problem with rich liberal celebrities in town. Hey, why not picket David Letterman or Diane Sawyer's house?

The liberal establishment, including the super rich, appear to be in love with Occupy Wall Street and the usual suspects support it. Which means, I'll bet, that we are seeing the same manipulation of the mob that takes place in every revolution. And what are most leftist revolutions about? Certainly not about improving the lot of the average Joe. Nope! The people are just the means for the manipulators to gain power. Remember the Communist Revolution? The czar and the nobility were murdered or driven out. And the people? They had the privilege of being slaves of the state, a state that talked about the equality of comrades, but where the few party leaders were more equal than the many.

Frankly, I'm concerned that this is really about fomenting anarchy which historically leads to dictatorship. Is martial law in our future? I hope not, but I don't think we can rule it out. Pray for our poor besieged country.

Government Tyranny Over Children

As a parent you probably think you have the right to make  important decisions for your minor children. Think again. In California, the 9th Circuit Court ruled that parents have no right to opt their children out of state mandated curricula no matter how objectionable. As the court ruled

“[p]arents…have no constitutional right…to prevent public schools from providing its students with whatever information it wishes to provide, sexual or otherwise, when and as the school determines that it is appropriate to do so.”

If they want to teach your children that homosexual behavior is normal and you object -- tough. If they want to teach kids how to: put condoms on bananas, where to get the pill or an abortion, that they have a right to choose their own values and reject their parents -- well it's just too bad. The only control you have as a parent once you get into some school systems is to opt out altogether by private home schooling. Do you think that's why so many politicians opt their kids out of public schools?
