Sunday Meditation! Love the Truth!

Father's homily this morning was well worth meditating on. It stimulated my own thoughts. I don't want to distort anything he said, so consider this my interpretation of what was a really excellent homily. 

What do you think the devil's greatest deception is? What pleases him the most?

The smoke of Satan has entered the sanctuary and
is billowing out to engulf the whole world!

The attack isn't only in the Church; it's everywhere. Evening prayer yesterday brought the impeachment show trial to mind and the random violence taking place everywhere, not to mention natural disasters unleashed by the evil one:

Which leads one to ask -- Who is the real authority speaking in persona Christi? I think the answer is pretty simple.

When a bad pope sits on Peter's throne, faithful Catholics can't trust him. When he speaks with the mind of the Church, one can assent to his pronouncements. But, when, as this pope often does, the smoke of Satan pours out of his mouth like the smoke from a villain's cigarette, the faithful have a duty not only to ignore him, but shout a resounding NO!

St. Thomas Aquinas said it well, “There being an imminent danger for the Faith, Prelates must be questioned, even publicly, by their subjects." Amen to that!

Confusion is a SIgn of Satan!

When the teachings of the Church are deliberately muddled, it is a sign of the "smoke of Satan." St. Francis of Assisi deliberately confuses and the "smoke of Satan" there is enough to smother the consciences of those who enter and are foolish enough to inhale what they're peddling!
