Catholics United Shills for Contraception

In the interests of truth in advertising, Catholics United (CU) should be called Heretical Catholics United or  Hypocritcal Catholics United or Cafeteria Catholics United or perhaps all three. One thing they surely are not is a group of faithful Catholics united. CU's latest foray into la-la land is a press release saying there is a "silver lining" in Obama's mandate forcing religious institutions to provide contraceptive coverage to their employees. Here's what the faux Catholics say:

Today's ruling requires Catholic institutions to provide their employees with access to contraceptive services. Despite the Catholic Church's teaching that contraception should not be used to prevent pregnancy, 98% of sexually active Catholic women use some form of birth control.

CU's spokesman then states:

 “Increased access to contraceptive services will dramatically reduce the abortion rate in America. Reducing abortion should be a goal recognized by both sides of this highly polarized debate. “Furthermore, we look forward to working with the administration in finding a win-win solution that will both meet the medical needs of women while protecting the religious liberty of Catholic institutions.”

One big question for CU. If 98% of "sexually active Catholic women" are already using birth control and, according to the Guttmacher Institute, Planned Parenthood's research arm, 89% of all sexually active women who don't want to be pregnant are already using birth control...........please explain how more plugs and drugs are going to "dramatically reduce the abortion rate."

The fact is that contraception leads to abortion either directly or indirectly. If the so-called contraceptive isn't abortifacient in itself like the drugs that operate to prevent implantation of the new baby, it creates in the mind of the woman the idea that she has a right not to be pregnant. It's not her fault if her contraceptive fails so she should be able to be not pregnant by any means possible. Contraception leads to abortion as many sociologists have stated since abortion became legal. More contraception leads to more, not fewer, abortions.

But this is all beside the point with regard to Catholics United. These wolves in sheep's clothing pretend to oppose abortion while they were founded to give a religious veneer to their support for the most pro-abortion president in history. When Kathleen Sebelius, a radical abortion supporter, was named to head the Department of Health and Human Services, they leaped to her defense. And, while accusing others of partisanship, they unabashedly shill for the radical left. And they are so useful to politicians who want to point to a Church divided on the issue. After all, just see all these "Catholics" who support their immoral legislation. CU has absolutely no credibility, of course, they are simply a front group, along with another faux Catholic group, Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good,  of socialist billionaire George Soros.

The Catholic bishops would do well to demand that Catholics United and its fellow traveler, Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good, cease their false advertising by removing the word Catholic from their names. They were founded to oppose Catholic teaching and they do it with zeal. The only "silver lining" in the HHS mandate is the metaphor it represents for those who betray Jesus Christ and Soros-funded Catholics United are experts at that.

Kmiec Submits Resignation as Ambassador of Malta

Barack Obama rewarded Douglas Kmiec with the embassy of Malta for betraying the Catholic faith and supporting his radically pro-abortion candidacy. But that's not all Kmiec did. He signed the letter of support by Soros-funded Catholics United for Kathleen Sebelius, an advocate of late-term abortion who had a special relationship with George Tiller...and there are other betrayals as well. Kmiec, sadly, is a Judas. And now he's found out exactly how loyal pro-abortion liars are when the rubber hits the road.

The State Department has trashed Kmiec's reputation because he took Obama's rhetoric about faith-based initiatives seriously and devoted time to working on it. Hillary's minions are giving him the mailed fist and the studded boot treatment -- no doubt Bill could clue him on that.

So Kmiec is resigning -- on the feast of the Blessed Mother no less, August 15th. Perhaps that's his way of trying to atone for his past errors. I hope so, but I wouldn't bet on it. His actions have been absolute head-shakers that show little evidence of the man who used to have a solid pro-life reputation. Well, that's been in shreds since he joined the Obama campaign and now his reputaion as a hard working professional is in shreds as well.

I'm finding it hard to have any sympathy for the man. See my previous posts here and here. In his debate with Robert George at Catholic University, Kmiec came off like a lightweight thinker who was willing to sell the weak and helpless down the river and distort the truth to accomodate his politcal views. I hope he's learned that he was nothing but a patsy for the Democratic liars. I'll certainly pray for him. But when you've committed the kind of betrayal Kmiec has, you have a long way to go to earn back lost trust. And as far as I'm concerned that's impossible as long as he's still affiliated with faux Catholic groups who thrive on attacking fundamental doctrines.

If you want to let Kmiec speak for himself visit his blog. I'm afraid my gag reflex couldn't cope with some of it as I thought how he has aided and abeted the murder of the unborn. His speech at the Anne Frank exhibition was mind boggling when one considers that the holocaust against babies waiting to be born outstripped the Nazi atrocities in the first few years post Roe v. Wade. Here's what he said:

"Failure to love our neighbor is but a short distance from ignoring our neighbor. And that disregard of our neighbor is but a short distance from silently tolerating political, racial, gender, and other illicit forms of oppression and hate."

What about ripping bodies limb from limb? The closest parallel to what happens to the poor little ones in the womb are the photographs from the Rwanda genocide where people were cut down with machetes. And Kmiec has the gall to say "never again?" Actions speak louder than words, man!

As a mother and grandmother I am enraged at those who call themselves "pro-life" and say they are "devout Catholics" while they treat God's "least ones" as trash for the medical waste bin.

Pray for Doug Kmiec. Resigning on Our Lady's feast day will be just one more empty gesture unless he repents of betraying the little ones whom Jesus called to come to Him. If you want to be close to the Lord, defend the babies waiting to be born, Professor Kmiec. Jesus was one of them for nine months. Those who betray them, betray Him.

Obama Vatican Pick hailed by Soros-funded Groups

Well, Obama has named a Vatican ambassador, one welcomed by the cafeteria Catholics at Catholics United and Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good, groups funded by anti-Catholic billionaire George Soros. Miguel Diaz, a lay liberation theologian is an unabashed Obama supporter with a number of books published by Orbis Books, the publishing arm of the leftwing Maryknoll order. He also signed the letter backing the Sebelius nomination.

Diaz is firmly in the Kmiec camp of Catholics for whom murdering the unborn is a minor problem, trumped by "social justice" issues that exclude the weakest and most vulnerable. This is one more nomination that undermines the sanctity of human life while elevating liberalism and socialism as utopian solutions to world problems.

But, as many are pointing out, it is one more shrewd move on the part of a president who knows how to manipulate the division between orthodox and heterodox Catholics to his own advantage. Catholics United calls Diaz a "devout Catholic," but cafeteria Catholics mean by that anyone willing to "dialogue" even over the dead bodies of children -- like the Romans who threw dice for Jesus' cloak while the innocent one hung dying above them.

In 1944 Norman Mattoon Thomas (1844 - 1968), a six-time presidential candidate for the Socialist Party of America, said this:

The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism But, under the name of "liberalism," they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened....I no longer need to run as a Presidential Candidate for the Socialist Party. The Democrat Party has adopted our platform.

If you want to know what socialists believe go visit socialist websites. It's an eye-opener to see them calling for absolute self-determination that would demonize Christians and force them to cooperate with evil. While they claim to stand for human rights they call for abortion on demand through all nine months of pregnancy paid for by the state. They demand sex ed in the schools that includes homosexual indoctrination. They want one-world-government by the workers with a global economy and the elimination of national borders. There are limits, however, to their call for unbridled self-determination. It doesn't apply to those who want to buy fur coats. It would be laughable if it weren't so serious.

The Democratic platform illustrates the truth of what Thomas said in 1944 and it's being implemented before our eyes with the swiftness and ease of Obama reading his teleprompter.

So do everything you can to build up the Catholic Church which is the main opponent of godless socialist ideology. Our entire way of life may depend on it. Freedom begins with respect for the weakest and most helpless. And renegade Catholics populating phony Soros front groups like Catholics United and Catholic Alliance for the Common Good are no different than the pharisaical mob screaming, "We have no king but Caesar." I wonder how happy they'll be when Caesar turns on them and destroys their tower of Babel.

Truth in Advertising - Call it "Cafeteria Catholics United"

If anyone wonders if the devil is alive and well and busy as a nest of termites, he has only to examine the George Soros-funded "Catholics United." The group is currently running 1,150 radio ads in 5 states touting the moral nature of the budget.

It would be laughable if it weren't so despicable. The fact that this group operates thanks to one of the most anti-Catholic rich guys in the country (who also funds Catholics for a Free Choice) stinks to high heavens. At the end of their lying ads should be the statement, "This spot was paid for by George Soros and other anti-Catholic sources."

With regard to the "morality" of the budget, it at least doubles the national debt which puts our grandchildren and even their children in hock. This is justice? It also steals from current taxpayers to fund all kinds of unconstitutional pork barrell projects. This is moral? Worst of all it includes multi-millions to fund abortion, chemical birth control, immoral and ineffective AIDS programs, pornographic sex education for kids, etc. both here and in the third world. What do these bogus Catholics not understand about, "Thou Shalt not Kill?" and "Thou Shalt not Steal?" What does dismembering unborn babies and stealing from present and future generations have in common with God's laws?

Cafeteria Catholics United is also shilling for Notre Dame as a counter response to the protests and petition begun by The Cardinal Newman Society to disinvite President Obama from graduation. With the chutzpa so typical of liberal liars they say, "Regrettably, the individuals leading the charge against Notre Dame are partisan operatives who routinely use a single-issue analysis to divorce the Catholic faith from its longstanding commitment to social justice and the sanctity of all human life." This implies, of course, that they aren't "partisan operatives," which couldn't be further from the truth. They are in bed with the pro-abortion, pro-gay crowds who are the enemies of God. You cannot be Catholic and in favor of abortion, sodomy, and same-sex marriage, but you can play "Let's pretend."

As for the bogus accusation that pro-lifers only care about the unborn - that is nothing but a smear. The difference between liberal "charity" that Cafeteria Catholics want and the charity of the pro-life community is that the bogus Catholics demand "forced charity" through taxation backed up by the iron fist of the IRS and jail terms for resisters. They want to play Robin Hood. That way, they can get their pet programs funded that feed buckets of money to administrators and staff who "do charity" as a profession. Pro-lifers prefer to share from their own pockets, run free clinics and crisis pregnancy centers, offer shepherding homes to unwed moms, and depend on the generosity of voluntary charity.

Cafeteria Catholics United has a friend in the White House and the force of the government leviathan behind their partisan views. What they don't have is the power of the Holy Spirit or truly Catholic minds and hearts. Pray for them and expose their hypocrisy.
