Nobody is asking you to like Trump or have a beer with him.
It's about policies and the future of our Constitutional Republic!

I just read an article that ended like this. 

Everybody needs to get beyond “I don’t like Trump and wouldn’t have a beer with him” to “If Trump loses, this place becomes Venezuela:” 

Communist Organizing Comes to Front Royal, VA

I was appalled when a friend sent me the information about Front Royal Unites that is establishing a 501.C.4 organization in the town of Front Royal, VA. They recently held a large protest at the town stadium. They claimed over 1000 participants but who knows? And now they are organizing a march and who knows what else? Will it be peaceful? We can hope, but we've all seen what's going on around the country. I sure don't want to see that kind of violence here.

Bernie Sanders is running for president, again.  I listened to his announcement speech in this video and it is my impression that he is the most dangerous person to seek public office by election since Adolf Hitler.  Here’s why I think so.  He believes his ascendency is at the right moment in history.  His time has come.

Meanwhile, Mark Shea wrote on his blog at Patheos that anyone who doesn't just shut up and pray is "using" Alfie Evans, not caring about him. (I won't link to Shea's blog because I understand Patheos pays by click count -- Hmm...does that mean Shea "used" Alfie's controversial story as click bait?)

After taking a shot at Fr. Peter West of Priests for Life who decried the silence of the Left on what was happening to Alfie, Shea goes on to aim his verbal AK-15 rapid fire at the "right wing base." He characterizes people like me as crazies and nut jobs who "stampede" over the latest "panic du jour" being stirred up (not sure by whom). In transparency, in case you haven't noticed by what I write, I do consider myself both an orthodox, practicing Catholic and a conservative who hates the deconstruction of Western culture! Nevertheless, I didn't fit into many of his bullet points about conservatives. Earth to Mark, we are NOT all cut from the same cookie cutter.

Remember Uncle Tom's Cabin? Will Alfie and Charlie's Stories Start Another Great War?

There's a popular story, which may be apocryphal, about Abraham Lincoln meeting Harriet Beecher Stowe, the Connecticut-born writer and abolitionist who wrote Uncle Tom's Cabin. Lincoln supposedly greeted her saying, "so you are the little woman who wrote the book that started this great war." Whether or not the story is true, the book did, in fact, influence northern attitudes toward slavery which, at least in part, contributed to the conflict.

Today we fight another great war, and, once again, slavery plays its part. Alan Keyes, in an eloquent piece on LifeSiteNews writes:

Are we condemned to repeat the evils of the past?

It's Earth Day. No doubt you're thinking of ways to make the earth a better place. I'm all for that, so let's take a little walk down one ugly path of history so we won't repeat it.

Did you know that the German government under Adolf Hitler murdered 300,000 aryan German citizens before it organized the mass killing of Jews? The German euthanasia program (Aktion T4) preceded the mass extermination of the Jews and other ethnic groups by two years. Hitler's personal doctor, Karl Brandt, organized the program the purpose of which was to eliminate undesirable populations in German society. Those with congenital health problems, the mentally ill, the retarded, even World War I amputees were targeted for death. Why? For a whole myriad reasons: eugenics, reducing the welfare budget, cost effectiveness, etc. all wearing the mask of compassion claiming the desire to reduce suffering.

It adds up to a majority wanting total government control over the economy — and their lives, if they stop to think about it.

Rarely do I find a book written since 1960 that I think is truly worth raving about.  An example of what generally impresses me is the book I read two weeks ago, the Catechism of the Council of Trent written in 1566.  So I surprised myself when I felt compelled to read The Political Pope, published this past May, written by George Neumayr, an author young enough to be one of my kids.

This past Sunday our deacon, ordinarily a very good homilist,  gave a sermon focused, on the words of St. Paul from his letter to the Galatians, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."  The sermon was going well until he said something about  simply writing a check not being good enough and what a shame it is that more of us don't sign up to make sandwiches for the poor. 
At that point, he lost me, because I sensed a political agenda that I've long held in suspicion.  I never heard this "sandwich thing" before we moved to Virginia where I saw it listed in my parish bulletin.

The Socialists or St. Joseph?

May 1st is the Communist celebration of the worker. Of course, in the commie and socialist states workers are little more than slaves, cogs in the wheel of the progressives' machine feeding the state's voracious appetite. But the reality of near slavery in Communist countries has never kept their rulers from proclaiming them the "workers' paradise." And May Day continues to be a socialist propaganda day as well.

It's no different among the socialists in the U.S. Every year the Alinskyites prowl around the country seeking their socialist goals and power for the organizers. This year they are focusing on "immigration reform" which, sadly, is no reform but the undermining of America as we know it. (Just ask the folks in southern Texas, Arizona, and California.) But for the Alinskyites, immigrants are pawns in their power play.

The Church, in her wisdom, made the Communist holiday the feast of St. Joseph the worker, a celebration that recognizes not only the dignity of work, but even more, the dignity of the individual worker. Let us pray to St. Joseph for real immigration reform, reform that respects the right of sovereign nations to protect their borders and their grave obligation to defend the safety and cohesion of the nation.

Obama is out to destroy the Catholic Church as an institution and Catholics as individuals must be forced to violate everything they hold dear.  It's time to pray for the courage of the first century martyrs. We'll need it!

Obama's Health Care Penalizes Married Couples

"Getting married will make it harder for many to get health insurance." Is this an unintended consequence or is it deliberate? Socialism always attacks the family because strong families are the foundational building block of a strong society. Destabalization and disintegration enable the move to socialism.

Chalk up one more assault on the family from the Obama administration and one more disastrous impact from Obamacare.

Occupy Wall Street: A Movement of Leftists Who Hate the Church

The first video below is from an Italian protest, a spinoff of the Occupy Wall Street movement in this country. Like the crowds in the U.S., the Italian group was heavily made up of Communists, Socialists, and other anti-capitalists who hate "the rich" and want to see the current system overthrown. The second video is from Occupy Oakland which illustrates the socialist ideas of the participants. This is all about class warfare and class envy. I suspect the Oakland group has a lot of church haters in it too.

What I find particularly ironic about these folks as they call for higher taxes is that they are talking about themselves. If the government took all the money from the rich, it wouldn't begin to pay the bills -- there just aren't enough rich people. The government has to tax the middle class workers because that's where most of the money is.

Under Communism in Russia, the government owned everything and the people were slaves of the system. We're already wage slaves because of onerous taxes. Now these foolish people want to put us completely under the thumb of Big Brother. And they will all no doubt vote for Obama, a rich man who is supported by rich Hollywood liberals and folks like George Soros and Oprah Winfrey. Is their money somehow cleaner than the bank executives? And how about Cecile Richards, Planned Parenthood's boss, who makes over 400K. Is she a good guy, but the bank exec is evil?

This is what you get when the schools are dumbed down and the kids are fed a constant stream of socialist propaganda. I'm all in favor of redistributing wealth. It's called...get a job, work hard, start your own business, etc. I hope more folks home school and raise their kids to be freedom fighters, although that takes time and I'm not sure we have much left.

But, as a priest said to me once, "What do you think it was like for the average man during the collapse of Rome?" Probably nothing much changed...until the barbarians sacked the city. Hmmm...now that I think about it, that's what these Occupy movements seem to be about.

Is it an Accident or an Agenda?

This trailer for a documentary is interesting. I've read that the communists didn't disappear, they just adopted the green movement. In view of the tyranny of the environmentalists, I believe it.

Compare these two videos. Which group do you belong in?

Well, the anti-freedom marchers came to Washington last Saturday and displayed their socialist colors along with the Communist hammer and sickle. Look at the first video and then check out the video from one of the big tea party demonstration in September 2009.

Where do the liberals want to take us? Straight to a socialist country in the image of Cuba. Remember the boat people trying to escape? Where will you run if they create an America in the image of Castro, Stalin, Mao, and company?

Maybe this is why the rally story ended up on page A3 of the Washington Post with no photos. First, they had a fraction of the numbers of the tea party rallies and Glenn Beck's freedom rally and the crowd was overwhelmed with socialists who want to overthrow our Consitution. Americans for Prosperity has a second video that shows more footage of the crowd marching.
