Sebelius Wants to Test Anthrax Vaccine on Kids

Hmm...anthrax for kids!

Kathleen Sebelius, who was an enthusiastic supporter of late-term abortionist George Tiller has carried her anti-child philosophy to a new level. She wants to test anthrax vaccines on kids -- for their own good, of course even though there isn't a single medical benefit for the children (an ethical requirement for experiments). But, hey, gotta collect data on the proper vaccine dosage just in case of an anthrax attack. Hmm...one big problem...maybe parents won't go along with it. Ah...here's an idea...pay a premium and get all the inner-city poor minority families to sell/volunteer their kids. Since abortion hasn't killed enough of them off, this offers a new opportunity to get rid of people Margaret Sanger considered "human weeds." No doubt they could partner with Planned Parenthood who always has a hand out for the federal bucks.

Is anybody surprised that the Obama administration wants to use children as the new lab rats? After all, chimpanzees and other animals are much more valuable than children in the liberal mindset. According to the New York Times, NIH is retiring its chimp research program and sending all the precious little critters to sanctuaries, so obviously a new experimental subject is necessary.  Why not kids? After all there are too many people on the planet and if a few of the experiments result in death, all the better for the health of Mother Earth.

The only time children have value to liberals is when they can be used to advance gun control or serve as cute little stage props. It's not a new technique. Have you ever noticed the fundraising appeals from hospitals that do abortions? They often use their neo-natal units in the materials with adorable little preemies whose lives are celebrated. They never include the pictures of the "unwanted" babies down the hall who were killed by abortion. Fairfax Hospital was notorious for that approach. Haven't seen their materials in awhile, but I suspect they are still at it. Whatever works, eh?

Pro-Lifers Protest Sebelius' Georgetown Speech

Kathleen Sebelius talks about spending her whole life in "public service." She serves up death to accommodate her pro-abortion constituents. And in the next installment of her "public service" she'll be deep-sixing religious liberty. Some people just didn't want to hear any more of her hypocrisy. Sadly, like the tickled ears crowd at Notre Dame listening to President Obama, many laughed and applauded for her hypocrisy. May God have mercy on our poor country, the brave new world that "has such people in it."

The Poisonous Podium at Catholic Graduations

It's madness time at Catholic colleges and universities around the country and many institutions have filled the graduation cup of celebration with hemlock served from their poisonous podiums. Let's take a walk around Catholic campuses to see who's bellying up to the podium at graduation.

Georgetown: As usual the Jesuit institution is thumbing its nose at the Church by inviting rabidly pro-abortion Kathleen Sebelius, head of Health and Human Services, to speak at commencement. In view of the controversy over the HHS contraception mandate this is a targeted slap at the Catholic bishops who (for once!) are unanimous in condemning a moral evil. Sebelius has a long history of supporting abortion, but her enthusiasm for violating religious liberty makes her a particularly offensive speaker at a Catholic school. The Newman Society is calling on Georgetown to withdraw the invitation. That would take a miracle from the premier academia scandal mongers! Isn't it time to remove Georgetown's designation as a pontifical university? The outrages at Georgetown are legion.  

DePaul: The largest Catholic university in the country has invited a population control guru to speak at one of their multiple commencements. E.O. Wilson is a Harvard professor who has called Christianity "the most dangerous of devotions" because "With a second life waiting, suffering can be endured - especially in other people. The natural environment can be used up. Enemies of the faith can be savaged and suicidal martyrdom praised." This is the picture of Christianity that DePaul is willing to promulgate? And consider the irony of a biggest Catholic school in the country hosting a man who would be happy to kill off the students of the future. 

University of San Francisco (Jesuit): USF has invited pro-abortion, pro-homosexual Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey to speak to the School of Managment. Woolsey has a 100% positive rating from Planned Parenthood a long history of supporting the most extreme legislation. She voted against the partial birth abortion ban and co-sponsored legislation to cannibalize unborn babies for their stem cells. Another objectionable speaker, addressing the law school, is Judge Goodwin Liu, a member of the California Supreme Court. Rahm Emmanuel considered Liu too controversial (read "too left wing") for nomination to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals (and that's saying something considering the extremism of the 9th circuit!). Like Woolsey he is pro-abortion and a proponent of same-sex marriage. (For more...)

Gonzaga University (Jesuit): Pro-abortion, pro-contraception, pro-population control Archbishop Desmond Tutu is the undergrad commencement speaker at Gonzaga.  As well as his abortion extemism, Tutu is  a big proponent of gay rights and advocates ordination of openly active homosexuals like Gene Robinson. He has made statements endorsing terrorism as well. Despite his decidedly anti-Catholic positions, Tutu will receive an honorary degree from the Jesuit university and the students will be served up a hefty portion of scandal. Not everyone is happy. An alumni couple started a petition on Facebook and gathered 700 signatures opposing Tutu's selection. The pro-Tutu forces headed up by Soros-funded Faithful America responded with a petition signed by 11,000. No wonder Jesus asked, "When I return will I find any faith on the earth?" There will be a remnant, however, and among them will be the 700 Gonzaga alumni.

Boston College (Jesuit): Victoria Reggie Kennedy, widow of Edward Kennedy and a publicly pro-abortion figure in her own right, will address the law school commencement. In a Washington Post Op-Ed, Kennedy defended abortion, a particularly scandalous act from someone professing to be a life-long Catholic whose faith is "very important" to her. It is apparently, not important enough to follow Church teachings.

I'll close this section on bad commencement speakers with a piece of good news/bad news. First the good news: Amidst the commencement scandals there's one story with a good ending. Bishop Robert McManus of Worcester asked Anna Maria College to disinvite Vicki Kennedy who was scheduled to speak there (as well as at Boston College). Happily, Anna Maria complied. And the bishop held firm despite receiving 20,000 signatures on a petition asking him to reconsider organized by (take note) Faithful America. But (now the bad news) the college president and chairman of the board of Anna Maria asked the bishop to stay away from graduation because he would be "a distraction." Ironically, when the bishop initially expressed his concerns about Kennedy, he told the college president he wouldn't attend commencement if she spoke. Now he won't attend because the administration doesn't want him. Sad when a Catholic institution disses their bishop because he does his job and prevents a scandal. But considering the invitation in the first place it is hardly surprising. At least they were obedient even if grudgingly. As for Mrs. Kennedy, she issued her own statement defending herself as a lifelong Catholic and criticizing the bishop's action for his judgment "about my worthiness as a Catholic." She went on to say, "This is a sad day for me and an even sadder one for the Church I love." Speak for yourself, Vicki. Orthodox Catholics hail the glad day and hope the bishop's action will be imitated by his brethren!

I'm not sure what Vicki Kennedy loves about the Church (maybe the stained glass windows and incense). It surely isn't Jesus Christ who said, "If you love me you will keep my commandments." One of the paramount among those commandments, one that invovles a sin "that calls to heaven for vengeance," forbids the murder of the innocent. Kennedy champions child killing by abortion. That position alone disqualifies her (and all the other pro-abortion commencement speakers) from speaking at any authentically Catholic venue.

Sadly, many so-called Catholic organizations today display their disdain for the faith by their willingness to honor and praise, not Jesus Christ, but those who hate what He stands for. Graduation is a time that separates the sheep from the goats and illustrates exactly why young people are losing their faith at so-called Catholic schools.

But there are some, thank God, that are authentically Catholic and they will be celebrating commencements as well. Christendom College will feature Fr. Kenneth Baker of Homiletic and Pastoral Review and Mother Agnes Donovan of the Sisters of Life at their commencement. St. Thomas Aquinas College presents Mother Assumpta Long founder of the thriving new teaching order Dominican Sisters of Mary Mother of the Eucharist. At Wyoming Catholic College Bishop Michael Sheridan will be the commencement speaker. Benedictine College will feature Pope John Paul II's biographer George Weigel to cap off their year dedicated to the former pope. Now there's an authentically Catholic lineup!

Fr. Tom Pegs It Again! Challenging the HHS Mandate

It isn't enough to exempt the Church from HHS Mandates. As Fr. Tom writes below, that concedes government's "right" to force institutions and individuals to participate in the butchery. Is protecting human life really only a "Catholic" or "religious" question? Was slavery only an issue for people of faith? It's time to defend the civil rights of unborn babies. Stop the genocide of pre-born humans!

   It will be interesting to see whether the USCCB will be content with an HHS exemption for Catholic institutions from the requirement to provide contraception, abortion and sterilization "services", thus conceding that the HHS has a legitimate "right" to mandate such butchery, just so long as we Catholics do not have to soil our hands by directly participating in it.

In view of the fact that HHS has sought to "rub our noses" in the bloody remains of mutilated babies, the USCCB should demand a full apology for its attempt to violate our basic rights, which are guaranteed by the First Amendment. Likewise, our own bishops in Virginia should demand an apology from both Sen. Warner and Sen. Webb, since they participated in violating our Constitutionally guaranteed rights by giving HHS unbridled legal "power" to redefine the nature of conscience, so as to be permitted to force
us to violate our consciences in direct violation of the First Amendment. Without such clear apologies, the USCCB will be de facto agreeing with the fundamental provisions of Obamacare. This, combined with the ongoing de facto degradation of so much of our catechesis and Church discipline, will perpetuate
the gradual "evolution" of thought among Catholics, to the point where many will also embrace the "compassionate solution" of euthanasia for our infirm and elderly.

Satan's one "virtue" is patience. And so, with the passing of time and with the continuing portrayal of perversion as "sex education" to our youth, Catholics will gradually be "enlightened" (Lucifer means the "bearer of light") to accept the "wisdom" of our government. And, as we live by that "wisdom", we will see it "confirmed" by the unchallenged sacrilegious abuse of the the Eucharistic Christ - in a way that is perceived by most Catholics as a ratification of the "utopian agenda" of the Culture of Death and its unholy trinity of contraception, abortion and euthanasia.

Ironically, while such attacks on innocent human life are increased, the Culture of Death will be increasingly scrupulous about protecting the lives of the guilty from the death penalty.

May God enlighten and strengthen us by the true Light of the World, Jeus Christ, so that we may decisively proclaim the whole truth of His saving Word.

Catholics United Shills for Contraception

In the interests of truth in advertising, Catholics United (CU) should be called Heretical Catholics United or  Hypocritcal Catholics United or Cafeteria Catholics United or perhaps all three. One thing they surely are not is a group of faithful Catholics united. CU's latest foray into la-la land is a press release saying there is a "silver lining" in Obama's mandate forcing religious institutions to provide contraceptive coverage to their employees. Here's what the faux Catholics say:

Today's ruling requires Catholic institutions to provide their employees with access to contraceptive services. Despite the Catholic Church's teaching that contraception should not be used to prevent pregnancy, 98% of sexually active Catholic women use some form of birth control.

CU's spokesman then states:

 “Increased access to contraceptive services will dramatically reduce the abortion rate in America. Reducing abortion should be a goal recognized by both sides of this highly polarized debate. “Furthermore, we look forward to working with the administration in finding a win-win solution that will both meet the medical needs of women while protecting the religious liberty of Catholic institutions.”

One big question for CU. If 98% of "sexually active Catholic women" are already using birth control and, according to the Guttmacher Institute, Planned Parenthood's research arm, 89% of all sexually active women who don't want to be pregnant are already using birth control...........please explain how more plugs and drugs are going to "dramatically reduce the abortion rate."

The fact is that contraception leads to abortion either directly or indirectly. If the so-called contraceptive isn't abortifacient in itself like the drugs that operate to prevent implantation of the new baby, it creates in the mind of the woman the idea that she has a right not to be pregnant. It's not her fault if her contraceptive fails so she should be able to be not pregnant by any means possible. Contraception leads to abortion as many sociologists have stated since abortion became legal. More contraception leads to more, not fewer, abortions.

But this is all beside the point with regard to Catholics United. These wolves in sheep's clothing pretend to oppose abortion while they were founded to give a religious veneer to their support for the most pro-abortion president in history. When Kathleen Sebelius, a radical abortion supporter, was named to head the Department of Health and Human Services, they leaped to her defense. And, while accusing others of partisanship, they unabashedly shill for the radical left. And they are so useful to politicians who want to point to a Church divided on the issue. After all, just see all these "Catholics" who support their immoral legislation. CU has absolutely no credibility, of course, they are simply a front group, along with another faux Catholic group, Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good,  of socialist billionaire George Soros.

The Catholic bishops would do well to demand that Catholics United and its fellow traveler, Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good, cease their false advertising by removing the word Catholic from their names. They were founded to oppose Catholic teaching and they do it with zeal. The only "silver lining" in the HHS mandate is the metaphor it represents for those who betray Jesus Christ and Soros-funded Catholics United are experts at that.

Kathleen Sebelius Shreds Documents to Protect Planned Parenthood and Child Rapists

Liberals talk about how much they care about children (born children, of course), but do they? Under former governor Kathleen Sebelius, Kansas human services protected child rapists who impregnated minors and then took them for abortions to Planned Parenthood (PP). It's long been known that PP, a mandatory reporter, looks the other way and even counsels girls to lie about their ages so they can abort their babies and send the minors back for more sexual abuse by adult men. Sebelius, a faux Catholic, was willing, not only to look the other way as long as PP kept the campaign donations rolling in, but to illegally destroy evidence that implicated her supporters.

It's time for Congress to put a stop the cover up of child rape by PP and their political allies. A good start would be to kick Sebelius out of government. No doubt she can get a job teaching at Trinity.

Kathleen Sebelius: Cheerleader of Child-Killing

Kathleen Sebelius is a Catholic, at least nominally, as most people know. Sebelius recently spoke at a NARAL fundraiser saying, "We are in a war." And she is...with the targeted population being babies in the womb. What she meant, however, was that, despite the fact that most employers provide coverage for contraception and abortifacient drugs, she will not rest until the rebels are brought under the dictatorial heel of the federal hobnailed boot. The Planned Parenthood/NARAL lobby demands it and Sebelius is their lacky. Conscience must bend to their evil agenda. (See Wall Street Journal.)

Where did Sebelius learn to separate her Catholic faith from her public "service?" Where did she learn the kind of "integrity" that allows killing children to be the centerpiece of her politics? Sad to say, at a "Catholic" school. Sebelius was a sophomore at Trinity College in Washington, D.C. when I was a senior there. And how Trinity loves her. She and her fellow pro-abort, Nancy Pelosi, are the darlings of their alma mater. Trinity has a banner in their main hall hailing Pelosi and often speak aout the "Trinity women among Washington's most powerful." Trinity, alas, has no shame.

Pelosi and Sebelius aren't the only grads putting their politics above integrity. Margaret Williams was Hillary Clinton's chief of staff. Previous to the police release of details about Vince Foster's suspicious death, Williams was seen by a secret service agent removing files from Foster's office. She later denied it. Another Trinity grad, Maisha Leek, who spoke at Cap and Gown Sunday last fall, is chief of staff for Democrat Congressman Chaka Fattah of Pennsylvania who is about as rabid a pro-abort as you can find. He favors abortion, even late-term, embryonic stem cell research, opposes making it illegal to transport minors across state lines to kill their babies, etc. ad nauseum. Another pro-abort former congresswoman Barbara Kennelly was recently hired by Trinity to teach politicial science. And to cap off Trinity's liberalism, President Patricia McGuire is now blogging for the ultra liberal Huffington Post. There is little at Trinity except a facade to show that Catholics believe there is immutable truth.

As for Sebelius, she demands not only that tax dollars pay for abortion, but that citizens must use their private funds to support them as well. Liberals like Sebelius talk a lot about "freedom " using the vocabulary of the brave new world. They will only allow citizens the "freedom" to do exactly what they tell you to do.

Actions have consequences. Perhaps Kathleen's mommy never taught her that. Kathleen would have been a freshman at Trinity College in Washington, D.C. when I was a senior. I would like to say that Kathleen got a solid Catholic education there, but Trinity was already sinking into the slough of moral relativism and pop Catholicism in the late 60s. I left Trinity scandalized and, to my shame, stopped practicing the faith for a time because of it and my own bad decisions.

Today Trinity, with its gay pride club and Halleluia Chorus for Kathleen, Nancy Pelosi, and other high profile pro-abort alumnae, rings the death knell for any true faith on campus. Oh, they may still have Mass, but the real agenda is girl-power and they have a track record of producing high-profile, pro-abortion democrats. (Hillary Clinton's chief of staff, Maggie Williams, was also a Trinity grad.)

Kathleen Sebelius postures as the poor little "victim" of the big bad archbishop. In doing so she merely reflects the result of scandal combined with ambition and rationalization. Archbishop Naumanm is a doctor of the soul who has administered the bad-tasting medicine that offers a cure. Will she take it? Or will Kathleen listen to the quacks and ear-ticklers trying to convince her the growing cancer won't kill in the end.

Pray for Kathleen Sebelius and for her spiritual father, Archbishop Naumann. Thank God for a bishop who speaks the truth in charity for the salvation of souls.

Sibelius Confirmed 65-31: Trinity Grad is poisoned fruit of bad Catholic college.

The Senate confirmed Kathleen Sibelius tonight 65 to 31. Every democrat voted for the supporter of partial birth abortionist "Killer" Tiller who never met a late-term baby he wouldn't murder. Of course, it was a mutually beneficial situation for the Kansas Governor. Sibelius raked in big bucks in campaign contributions from the Wichita butcher. She underreported them, but the senators didn't care. How many of them get money from Planned Parenthood, NARAL, NOW, et al as well?

You can check out the yeas and nays here. Both of my Virginia Senators voted for this scarlet lady - no surprise; they are pro-abortion Democrats. (Is there any other kind?) What about your senators? Pray for the souls of these politicians who will one day have to face the music. Killing children may be the politically expedient thing to do today (like killing Catholic priests in 16th and 17th century England and killing Jews in Nazi Germany), but will political expediency count for much on Judgment Day?

Kathleen Sebelius is a pathetic example of a "Catholic" education from Trinity College in Washington, D.C., my own alma mater I'm ashamed to say. Like Notre Dame fawning over our pro-abortion, pro-infanticide president, Trinity gushes over her pro-abortion Catholic graduates. A number are now working for the Obama administration and will no doubt be invited to Trinity to scandalize the current crop of undergrads.

If you want to keep your kids Catholic don't send them to schools that will rob them of their faith. What does it profit a man (or woman) to gain the White House or an important government post, but lose his (her) own soul? Eh, Kathleen?

Keep the Heat on the Sebelius Nomination!

The articles below give a good overview of the challenges from the Sebelius nomination to HHS. Unfortunately, Senator Brownback's endorsement has cut pro-lifers off at the knees. The only way an effective fight can be mounted is if a few senators on the oversight committee start asking some tough questions of this radical pro-abort - like her relationship with late-term abortionist George Tiller. If a senator known for being 100% pro-life won't challenge this champion of child-killing why would anyone else? Please don't let my comments discourage you from fighting. Contact your senators anyway. Write letters to the editor exposing Sebelius' extremism. Keeping abortion in the limelight is important. When you shine light under the rock the creepy-crawlers run for cover. So keep your rosary in one hand and a pen (or a mouse) in the other. Soldiers fight battles even when the odds are against them.

Dear Senator Brownback,

Please say it isn't so -- that you haven't put political expediency above your Catholic faith and above the interests of the little unborn children. I could have cried when I saw your endorsement of Governor Sebelius, arguably one of the most pro-abortion women in the country. Your action reminds me of Rick Santorum's endorsement for Arlen Specter. Does any politician have rock-solid principles? Do you all stand on the sand of political expediency?

When I saw in your biography that you had been named a "Wilberforce Republican" I couldn't help but think what that indefatigable reformer would say to you. Would he have abandoned the welfare of the slaves to endorse a proponent of slavery? Your opposition to the Sebelius nomination could make a big difference on your colleagues who will be exercising their role to advise and consent. But you have abandoned the least of God's little ones to endorse a champion of their murder. But I won't do it without sorrow and a promise to offer my daily Masses and rosaries during Lent for you.

Phony Catholics Shill for Obama HHS Pick

Well, they're at it again. No matter what name they choose (Call to Action, Voice of the Faithful, Catholics United, or Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good ) the phony Catholics are known by their actions. The latest abomination is their support for Kathleen Sebelius, Obama's pick to head Health and Human Services. Sebelius is well known to pro-lifers for supporting notorious late-term abortionist George Tiller. Some of her other abortion credentials have been released by pro-life groups.

The Family Research Council: "While a state representative, Mrs. Sebelius fought continually against parental notification, abortion waiting periods, and informed consent. As governor she twice vetoed abortion clinic regulation legislation and also a bill seeking to curb late-term abortions."

Traditional Values Coalition: "Sebelius has stated that she’s worked to keep abortions rare and safe, but this is false. She has done everything in her power to protect the notorious late-term abortionist George Tiller and Planned Parenthood from prosecution for felony crimes! In 2007, she vetoed a bill requiring explicit medical reasons for a late abortion, vetoed legislation that would have saved the lives of babies who were victims of botched abortions, and she vetoed other pro-life legislation in 2006, 2005 and 2003."

Liberty Counsel: "While receiving large contributions from Tiller, in 2003 Sebelius vetoed legislation designed to regulate the health and safety of abortion clinics, including Tiller's. The filthy abortion clinics continued to operate until 2005, when the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts revoked the medical license of Krishna Rajanna, a Kansas City abortionist who ran a rat-infested abortion mill.
"Sebelius was vehemently opposed to then-Attorney General Phil Kline and handpicked Paul Morrison to run against him. Morrison promised to cease investigations into the abortion clinics and received soft campaign contributions from Tiller. Morrison had to later resign, when a sex and abortion corruption scandal became public." Read more...

But despite Sebelius' record of evil, Catholics United claims she reduced abortion while she enabled it (just like Obama). Among the 26 "Catholic" leaders signing the letter of support for the pro-abortion governor are Doug Kmiec (by now well-known for his betrayal of the unborn during the 2008 presidential campaign), Delores Leckey, (former head of the Catholic bishops Secretariat for Family, Laity, Women and Youth, a 20-year employee - any wonder the USCCB is so bad?), Fr. Thomas Reese (Jesuit and former editor of America Magazine forced to resign by the Vatican), and many others. Everyone on the list should be denied Communion under Canon Law 915.

Kansas State Senator Bolts the Party of Abortion

Veteran Kansas state Senator Mark Gilstrap bolted the Democatic Party December 4th for the GOP. After serving three terms in the state Senate, Gilstrap lost his reelection bid in the primary after facing major opposition from pro-abortion Catholic governor Kathleen Sebelius and the Democratic party of Kansas. The Gilstrap situation may have deep-sixed Sebelius' chances of being named vice-president because of Obama's courtship of Catholic voters. Gilstrap is a pro-life Catholic and the attack from his own party was too reminiscent of the treatment accorded to Pennsylvania Governor Robert Casey Sr. in 1992.
