Celebrate Life! Girl without hands wins penmanship competition!

Girl born without hands triumphs at penmanship competition

Some people believe that only those who are "perfect" have lives worth living. That was certainly the attitude behind the T-4 Euthanasia program in Nazi Germany. The little girl in this story would never have made the cut with the "doctors" evaluating the children. That's what happens when government decides it has the power to make decisions over life and death.

We are already in such a culture and it's growing darker. Obama tells us we are REQUIRED to pay for drugs that kill children under the phony name of chemical contraception. Millions of our tax dollars go every year to Murder Inc. aka Planned Parenthood to murder both handicapped children and those who are perfectly healthy. There is nothing "contraceptive" about drugs that kill an already conceived child.

Praise God for little ones like Annie Clark. They give us an example of courage and perseverance and new meaning to the word "perfect." Annie is perfectly beautiful! And God doesn't make mistakes!

The Blessings of Grandchildren.... By birth and "adoption"

One of my favorite parts of the marriage ceremony is the blessing that you might see "your children and your children's children." Well...we are incredibly blessed to be expecting our 20th grandchild who is due next September. Most of 2011 will be a happy anticipation of that event with all the reports about progress and finding out whether the girls will advance their lead (currently 11-8) or whether the boys will begin to catch up.

The thing that got me thinking about grandchildren (It never takes much) was that, while browsing my bloglist, I was intrigued by "Old Bob's" post title. So I went and read about his "adopted" granddaughter. Actually, he is the adopted grandfather, since Maria initiated the honorary title. If you want to read a heartwarming message for Sunday (always a traditional family day) visit Bob's blog. And a big congratulations, Bob. Instant grandchildren are another blessing from the Lord and you aren't limited to one!

Where's Jesus? In the Little Red Wagon!

A friend of mine said I should post some happy things in honor of the season. (I always listen to you, Karl!) The bad news will hold for awhile. So when I got this lovely little story in my email today, I thought I'd share. It may not be true, but it's sweet and certainly could be. My little two-year-old granddaughter has been carrying Jesus all over the house. I had him hiding in the hay until Christmas but she found him. After I put him up, she had to make do. So she went into my doll cupboard to retrieve a tiny porcelain baby doll she insists is also Jesus to put in the manger. She loves "baby Jesus" and wants him now!

Is Jesus at your house? Will you carry him off out of love and gratitude? And what treasured memories do you have of Christmas? I hope you'll share.

A Christmas Story

It was the day after Christmas at a church in town. The pastor of the church was looking over the crèche when he noticed that the baby Jesus was missing from among the figures.

He hurried outside and saw a little boy with a red wagon, and in the wagon was the figure of the little infant Jesus. So he walked up to the boy and said, "Well, where did you get your passenger, my fine friend?"

The little boy replied, "I got Him at church."
"And why did you take Him?"

The boy explained, "Well, about a week before Christmas I prayed to the little Lord Jesus and I told Him if He would bring me a red wagon for Christmas I would give Him a ride around the block in it."
