Meanwhile...

My new neighbor

The current state of everything trickles down to our individual lives on a daily basis. It happens to all of us now. This is my life in the past week:

1)  An old racing friend called aghast about the 7 horses that died at Churchill Downs "during the Kentucky Derby". I had to calm her down with the actual facts of the situation. Seven horses did not die during the Derby. No horses died during the Derby, but 2 horses did die on Derby Day in races before the Derby. The other five horses died in the week following up to the Derby, two of which were suspicious deaths reported by a single trainer (trying to collect insurance money?) who has since been suspended. One other horse's death happened during training, not in a race. Misinformation spreads from erroneous MSM headlines and intentionally confusing articles bent on misleading the public with innuendo and lies. PETA will be on the warpath (actually they have been for years) trying to shut down horse racing merely from believing MSM headlines intentionally written to obfuscate facts.

Being a Liberal is Never Having to Say You're Sorry, Even When You Cause Physical, Emotional, & Economic Devastation!

Maybe this explains it.
Back in 2020 and 2021, I was getting lambasted for "wanting to kill people." What brought about this accusation? The fact that I didn't jump on the mask bandwagon, and I made it clear there was no way I was going to be a guinea pig for Big Pharma. I can't tell you how many times I was told I was unchristian and wanted to kill people. Goodness, if I went back to my Facebook page and old blog posts, I could give you dozens of examples of hysterical messages attacking my decision, because everyone knew that the jab was "safe and effective" and that non-vaccinated people, no matter how asymptomatic, were typhoid Marys spreading death to the community. On the other hand, the vaccinated would never get COVID and could never spread it to their neighbors.

When I Use the Terms Liberal and Liberalism, This is What I Mean

A comment on this morning's blog post from Hans Georg Lundahl made me think I need to address how I use the terms liberal and liberalism. Here's what Mr. Lundahl wrote, "Chesterton said 'Capitalism is a Sin, Communism is a Heresy' and I think how you use "Liberalism" falls more under the label Communism. (As using labels myself, I am conscious of how other bloggers use them)."

Mr. Lindahl is correct. First, I use "liberal" to define principally those individuals who are cultural Marxists or secular moral relativists. Their beliefs shift in the wind because they do not believe in absolute truth. Whether or not they describe themselves as such, they are revealed by their stated beliefs and their actions. Second, I use the term "liberalism" as did Fr. Felix Sarda Y Salvany in his classic work, Liberalism is a Sin. His book, to me, perfectly describes the liberal mind and can be illustrated through liberals' words and behavior.

So how does Fr. Salvany define liberalism? He identifies four principles of liberal propaganda:

Liberal Charity: Is that an Oxymoron?

I love liberals; they care so much. You can tell by their generosity. The homeless, the downtrodden are always on their minds. Take Al Gore. In 1992 he gave $1727 of his almost $200,000 salary to charity, less than 1%. But his friends tell us, he gives of himself. Wow, what an edifying thought. Al Gore serving soup to the homeless while MSNBC takes his picture.

And now comes Joe Biden. Joe's concern for the poor is absolutely mind-boggling. Since 1998 he's given a quarter of one percent of his income to charity. Of course, you have to consider that poor Joe has a lot of expenses: kids to put through college and aging parents. You know, the kind of challenges average Americans never face.

And speaking of the average American, he gives two percent of his income to charity, twice as much as Gore and ten times as much as Biden. But Gore and Biden no doubt care more than the average Joe. And they will happily make sure Americans are taxed more so they can put taxpayer dollars in the pockets of illegal aliens, the homeless, Planned Parenthood, and the administrators of homeless shelters and other charitable programs.

Yes, indeed, I love liberals; they are always good for a laugh.
