Unfortunately, we have numerous examples of bad bishops in this country. That sad situation leads me to shake my head ruefully while reading the quote attributed to St. John Chrysostom:

Two weeks ago I did a post about the Archbishop of San Antonio, Gustavo García-Siller, persecuting a good Catholic family and essentially trying to destroy their retreat center (their livelihood) by banning any diocesan events there. It led to groups violating their contractual obligations, an obvious serious moral violation against the eighth commandment, especially with no evidence of wrongdoing. The archbishop violated every Catholic admonition on how to handle disagreements. If you have a mind to, you can read the original post:

Scanning the news this morning I found a few intriguing articles. One was particularly pointed. Robert Knight at the Washington Times offered his take on the GOP debate. He addressed several issues worth considering:
1) Any of the GOP candidates would be better than our current America-destroying puppet president. Even most Democrats agree that Biden shouldn't be president and that's according to an AP poll, not exactly a conservative voice.

That child must not be killed because it is the holy right for a woman who is a man with a womb to give birth but it's a holy duty - actually it's a sacrament - to kill any other, or all - unborn babies in the womb of a woman who is not a man. It's what God meant when He said "Thou shalt not kill" because we know He meant not to kill the guilty who have committed hideous crimes against humanity, but do kill the innocent unborn so they won't grow up to become future problems to not then be killed after committing heinous crimes. The Catholic Church is not a political party. It is a defender of the moral law. Jesus is not partisan and would never support a particular political group, such as the Democrats or Republicans. Rather Jesus would vote to uphold the moral teachings He has entrusted to His Church for safekeeping through the Pope and Magisterium, i.e. the bishops in communion with the Pope. Thus Jesus would be oriented to specific issues to determine and support those that are in accord with His divine law, and permit flexibility of choice to the people whenever the issues are primarily secular rather than divinely mandated. This is entirely consistent with His mandate to “Render to Caesar (the world) the things that are Caesar’s, and render to God the things that are God’s.” From this frame of reference, consider the following issues that have become the focal point of the 2020 presidential campaign:
