Look to Mary Who Will Give You a "Deeper Understanding" of Jesus and the Holy Trinity

We celebrate the Blessed Mother's birthday today, nine months after the feast of her Immaculate Conception on December 8th. Let us all give her a gift today by praying the joyful mysteries of the rosary. 

Mary's great desire was to give Jesus to the world, the Word made flesh. What a great day to take a rosary walk with her entrusting your prayers into her hands with all the graces to be dispensed as she wishes. You can be sure that they will be used in a way most beneficial to you and your family.

When I was praying this morning a line of music kept running through my mind: "Queen of the angels, queen of the saints." It reminded me of all the Marian processions of my childhood, dressed in Sunday best, often wearing a crown of flowers. I once made crowns for all my sisters from dogwood blossoms.

St. Louis de Montfort tells us if we want to know Jesus better, come to Him through Mary: "Since she is the sure means, the direct and immaculate way to Jesus and the perfect guide to him, it is through her that souls who are to shine forth in sanctity, must find him. He who finds Mary finds life, that is, Jesus Christ who is the way, the truth and the life. But no one can find Mary who does not look for her. No one can look for her who does not know her, for no one seeks or desires something unknown. Mary then must be better known than ever for the deeper understanding and the greater glory of the Blessed Trinity."

Remember what Mary said to Juan Diego on Tepeyac Hill. "Am I not here, who is your Mother? Are you not under my protection? Am I not your health? Are you not happily within my fold? What else do you wish? Do not grieve nor be disturbed by anything."

Thank you, dear Mother, for loving us so well.

And while you're praying today, don't forget to intercede for the Protestants who treat Mary with hatred and contempt as though she is in competition and conflict with her divine Son. I can't help but wonder if those Protestants love their own mothers. Open their eyes, Jesus, to see Your mother through Your eyes that their ignorance might be dispelled. Give them the wisdom and humility to seek forgiveness for not believing the Commandment to honor your father and mother. Mary is the mother Jesus gave to all of us from the cross when he placed Mary under the protection of St. John.

Thank You, Lord Jesus. Have mercy on us for our disbelief.
