This story sounds a loud warning for the future. "Gay" activists rule. They will intimidate and destroy you if you oppose their agenda. King and Spalding, the law firm hired by the Republicans to defend DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act) pulled out of the case after intimidation and threats from the sodomite community. As a result, Paul D. Clement, the lawyer selected to represent the case, has resigned from the firm. Here's the scoop from LifeSiteNews:
Clement, a former solicitor general of the United States under President George W. Bush, immediately resigned from King & Spalding and will continue to represent the House of Representatives in the case.Honorable men still walk the earth! Two thumbs down for the cowards at King and Spalding; two thumbs up for Paul Clement!
As The New York Times reported, Clement said: “I resign out of the firmly held belief that a representation should not be abandoned because the client’s legal position is extremely unpopular in certain quarters. … Defending unpopular clients is what lawyers do. I recognized from the outset that this statute implicates very sensitive issues that prompt strong views on both sides. But having undertaken the representation, I believe there is no honorable course for me but to complete it.”
A warning of intimidations to come
I wish I could have found an attorney like him in the redneck hamlet where I reside. I wouldn't be driving an hour each way every week to go to Mass.
