From the Lunacy Files -- Don't let it rob you of hope and trust in God's goodness and mercy!

Sometimes when I read things that are happening in this poor country I just shake my head and lament:

• Are they really that stupid? 

• Or...are they really that evil? 

• Or...Do we live on the same planet?

Remember the old Twilight Zone show on TV? Every episode was introduced by Rod Serling with this come on:

It seems to me these days that the Twilight Zone is our default universe. Every day some new lunacy pops up on the horizon:

• Some California counties are introducing mask mandates again for health care workers. Hey, let's make all the medical professionals follow a useless protocol that's likely to make them sick! 

• The Democrats are suing Virginia because the state is removing self-identified non-citizens from the voter rolls. They send them a letter so they can update if they've become citizens, but the Dems obviously think non citizens (How many are illegal aliens?) will vote their way. It doesn't matter whether they lose in court as long as they can tie the state up until after the election and keep illegal voters on the rolls unconstitutionally!

• The UN is now saying that men can be lesbians. You can't make this stuff up! I had to check to make sure the story didn't come from the Babylon Bee. It didn't. It's all about human rights, dontcha know? When will that useless, woke, and evil bureaucracy be deep-sixed? They hate America and our money is what fuels their hate!

• There's a move on to eliminate the electoral college. Many voters don't have a clue about how things work. The Founders established the electoral college to protect voters' rights. If the body is eliminated, there will be no need for politicians to campaign anywhere but in the big metropolitan areas. Great swathes of the country will be completely disenfranchised. Think of a country run by Los Angeles, NYC, Chicago, Minneapolis, and the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Sounds like a Halloween horror movie! 

This is who will be running the country if the electoral college is eliminated!

• Is it any wonder the Democrats are spearheading the movement to demolish the electoral college? People need to develop critical thinking skills and stop watching CNN, MSNBC, and the woke lying networks! 

Enough depressing facts! 

Please pray the daily rosary and realize that God only allows evil to bring good out of it. This insanity is waking up many people. Even the disastrous papacy of Pope Francis is changing hearts and minds. A recent survey of practicing Catholics showed that many recognize the loss of reverence and belief in the Real Presence and are concerned. They want a return to more traditional worship and elimination of Communion in the hand among other things. Note, especially, the recommendations to the bishops and the fact that those respondents from the TLM (Traditional Latin Mass) community were younger than those attending the NO (Novus Ordo). Interesting, isn't it? Where do you think the future lies?

God is good. Suffering is redemptive when united to the cross. And as long as we strive to unite our wills to God's, we need not fear. Embrace Padre Pio's sensible advice: pray, hope, and don't worry.
