Do Our Bishops Welcome "Undocumented Houseguests" in their Own Homes?

My friend and colleague, Janet Baker, has an interesting article on her D.C. blog about the bishops shilling for illegal immigrants. One particularly apt sentence about the illegal aliens was this:

[T]hese people are border-crashers who come and/or stay in this country while disregarding our laws and procedures. They are no more "immigrants" than a burglar is an "undocumented house guest".

Amen! Janet was responding to an article in the Catholic Standard, the diocesan newspaper of the Archdioces of Washington, D.C. Well, I qualify the term "newspaper." Most Catholic papers these days shill for the bishops' issues of most concern: defending the illegal invasion and going on and on about climate change. Real issues of concern to their flocks often get short shrift. The millions of murdered babies waiting to be born often get little more than lip service. 

As Janet writes, the D.C. bishops claim that Haitians are fleeing "gang-related violence." Maybe some of them are. On the other hand, how many are gang members looking for greener pastures, bringing their crimes to our neighborhoods?

While my husband and I were vacationing at Chincoteague with our youngest and her family, our daughter mentioned that last year when they were in Virginia Beach, the city had a curfew because of gang violence. Well, that was interesting I thought. So I've been doing some research and found numerous articles about a sting operation in the Virginia Beach/ Hampton Roads area targeting gang violence that resulted in dozens of gang-related arrests. Here's just one article out of dozens:

ICE activity in the Virginia Beach/Hampton Roads area has also increased. Is there a connection? How many of the indictments involved illegals? One crime was the murder of a young man when a gang opened fire on an occupied vehicle thinking it carried a rival gang member. Three people from the car fled and were uninjured, but a teenage boy was killed in the attack. Later it was confirmed that none of those in the car had gang connections. What if that boy were your son? Were the gang killers illegals or just compatriots of illegals?

How much of the gang activity in the United States is related to the invasion? It's hard to get reliable information because most of the media coverage of ICE activity is, not only negative, but vicious. Also, the data just isn't being kept. Most of those deported have no criminal record in the U.S., but that's only part of the picture. How many have criminal records in their countries of origin. Try to find the data! I'll keep looking but it's the proverbial needle in the haystack.

In 2024, under Governor Glenn Youngkin, Virginia was vigilant in addressing gang activity. Every governor should be since there are 650 active gangs operating in the state. At a Virginia Beach conference Youngkin addressed 500 participants saying:

“It is the unending flow of illegal, undocumented immigrants that have come across the border has completely changed the overall violence profile,” Youngkin said. “The gangs that we are seeing are so many and these folks are associated with people who have come over the border.” [Source]

Youngkin established a program, Operation Ceasefire, to reduce violent crime in the state with positive results. Our current governor, Abigail Spanberger, who promised to make Virginia safer, cut its funding and is making the state safer for criminals. Can anyone be surprised when her attorney general, Jay Jones, dreamed about murdering State Delegate Todd Gilbert and wishing for the death of his family?

But back to the bishops and their shilling for illegal aliens. They've raked in billions over the years because of open borders and their compact with liberal presidents. Is it any wonder that so many continue their propaganda and long for the good old days when government money flowed freely?

Remember folks, this country is not closed to immigration. We welcome about a million legal immigrants every year. The bishops' enthusiasm for defending the lawbreakers who invade our country and steal billions from the taxpayers like the Somali thieves in Minnesota sickens me. Would they welcome "undocumented houseguests" in their own residences? It's easy to be cavalier with other people's lives and money. I love the Church and will never let the false shepherds drive me out, but I won't support them and I won't shut up about their scandals. Sometimes you have to pry up the floorboards in your own house to expose the termites. 

Pray for Holy Mother Church and for good shepherds willing to die for the flock. We sure don't have many of them these days. But it's during hard times that God raises up saints. Be on the lookout and pray for them.
