When you think the world's in twilight before dark
consider you may be seeing the coming dawn! |
There is much these
days to rob the most optimistic Catholic of hope. The dark clouds gather not
only over our world and our country, but over the Church as well. When
oppressive gloom begins to depress us, we would do well to remember the slogan
of the Christophers: “It’s better to light one candle than to curse the
darkness.” And if we have eyes to see, that single candle illuminates signs of
hope everywhere, because hope is higher and wider than despair. Let me share a
few examples.
