Charlie Kirk Inspired Millions. Have "We got it from here?"

Did you watch the memorial to Charlie Kirk yesterday? I did -- all of it. And what struck me the most was the disparity between the message I heard over and over again from the speakers about the love of God and the reign of Jesus Christ and the message we get day after day from the Vatican and our bishops.

Free speech is under assault. We saw it big time during COVID with anyone disagreeing with Dr. Science.  Reputable scientists who disagreed with Big Pharma and their shills were demonized and accused of spreading "misinformation." Of course, the ones actually doing that were Fauci and his allies. 

A Challenge to the U.S. Bishops on Their Support for the Illegal Invasion

J.D. Vance recently called out the USCCB (U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops) over their hypocritical policy on immigration and deportation. The fact is that everyone who enters our country illegally commits a criminal act. The pope recently established a policy tightening the Vatican borders and increasing penalties for violaters. Most parishes have signs in their parking lots saying trespassers will be towed. Do the bishops have an open door policy at their chanceries or the USCCB building in D.C. or their personal homes? Short answer: NO! Long answer: HELL NO!

I've been reading Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis by J.D. Vance. It accompanied me as my beach book last week when my husband and I were on vacation with our daughter and her family. I heartily recommend it with the warning that it is liberally peppered with obscenities -- the common language of some of Vance's family members. The book shines light on life in Appalachia: the white working poor, the non-working welfare dependents, the difficulty of rising above family circumstances, the devastating impact of alcohol and drug addiction. I kept closing the book and reflecting on thoughts raised by the sad, but often funny, descriptions of the colorful characters in Vance's life. There were a number of takeaways:
