Pray for Trump's Conversion on IVF Atrocity!

Trump is wrong on IVF—support restorative fertility instead
by Bob Marshall

President Donald Trump’s In Vitro Executive Order (2/18/2025), directing the federal government to expand access to IVF conception techniques, is the policy that most conservatives voted for Donald Trump “in spite of” rather than “because of”. Yes, his IVF EO supports social conservative goals, affirming “the importance of family formation and that our Nation’s public policy must make it easier for loving and longing mothers and fathers to have children.” And he also states, “As many as one in seven couples trying to have a baby are unable to conceive.”

But then President Trump wants an alliance between social conservative values and greater public access to current IVF practices which, in part, end up by consigning the “surplus population” of redundant IVF derived embryonic human beings to be used for human experimentation, frozen for possible future “implantation,” or unceremoniously discarded. "What Are You Doing? Pray!" Are You Praying and Sacrificing for the Incoming Administration?

Before Our Lady visited Fatima, the Angel of Peace appeared three times to the little shepherd children: Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta. On his second visit he chided the little ones, saying, “What are you doing? You must pray! Pray a lot! The Hearts of Jesus and Mary have merciful designs on you. You must constantly offer your prayers and sacrifices to GOD, the Most High."

Is a Vote for Trump Formal Cooperation with Evil?

A discussion came up in the comment section yesterday on the Tulsi Gabbard post about whether a Catholic commits a mortal sin by voting for Trump. You can read the discussion here. It started with a priest preaching that you can never vote for a candidate who supports an intrinsic moral evil. The reader who commented raised the question of whether the fact that Trump has endorsed IVF and even inserted it into the GOP platform disqualifies him from the Catholic vote. Correct me if I'm wrong, Aqua.

    Hmmm...True or false?

I did not hear the sermon so I can't comment on that; I only have the reader's brief description. Did the priest explain the distinction between formal and material cooperation with evil? That's where the rubber meets the road, I think.

What's Wrong with In Vitro Fertilization? First and Foremost. It Offends Almighty God!

Baby dolls for sale through IVF

In vitro fertilization is grievously wrong, a mortal sin in fact. It treats babies like doll objects. It is the flip side of abortion. If you don't want a baby doll, get rid of it any way you can including infanticide. If you want a baby doll, do anything you can to get one including creating life in a petrie dish and hiring a poor third world woman to bear the little one with spares sent to the freezer orphanage.

It's wrong -- plain and simple -- grievously wrong!

God is the Creator! We are called to be cooperators in creation, but He wrote the manual and the rule book. Scientists and lab workers have no right to co-opt and usurp God's rights. Men and women have no right to demand that God fulfill their desires.

Pretty Is As Pretty Does! Another Head-Shaker from the Trump Campaign and Conservative Republicans

The New York Sun reports that Melania Trump will be hosting a fundraiser for the Log Cabin Republicans, an LGBTQ group. This joined to Trump's watering down the Republican platform's abortion position is bad news for Catholics.

The Inhumanity of In Vitro Fertilization: A Mother's Story and a Doctor's Witness

My Journey Through In Vitro Fertilization

This mom's story, one baby born from 31 children created through IVF, is confirmed by an article in Crisis Magazine. Here are a few salient paragraphs from the Crisis article:
During the annual meeting of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology this July, it was announced that five million babies have been born following in vitro fertilization procedures since 1978. Today, approximately 350,000 IVF babies are born annually, and the numbers are increasing.
An eerie silence hangs over these numbers.

IVF: It's Not a Victimless Sin!

IVF is presented as a life-giving procedure. But for every life allowed to reach birth there are other lives snuffed out. And for the survivors of IVF, the lucky select ones, there is pain for the loss of siblings. One young woman's cri de coeur makes it clear that IVF can leave deep scars on the living. "Why me?" might be her cry. "Why did I survive? Why did my siblings have to die?" Read and weep:
I was one of three embryos created in the process, but I was the only one who survived. I mourn my siblings every single day. I can’t talk about them with my parents, because bringing the subject up inevitably causes fights, and they don’t feel the way I in the do. They don’t regret what they did, they don’t see anything wrong with IVF, and they don’t count my siblings as members of the family....
It hurts me every time I see in the news something about IVF, because the media treats it as if it’s okay. There’s never any mention that people die during the process. I don’t even know if there’s anyone else out there who feels the same way I do. If there is, I’ve never met them. Sometimes, I feel like a freak. The only person I’ve found who understands me at all is my local priest, who I’ve spoken to about everything, but I can’t be bothering him all the time! It’d be nice to have someone else who understood. [More here.]
Technology has made many things possible, but some of those possibilities involve monstrous sins. IVF seems to be a solution for those with fertility problems, but it is like Sophie's choice. The parents choose the children that live and the children that die. And in the process they help to legitimize human sacrifice. We have become the Aztec empire. Our world is drenched in the blood of victims sacrificed on the gleaming lab altar, but most people close their eyes to it. God help us all on judgment day for allowing this human sacrifice to continue with such little opposition.
