Bishop Schneider Makes First Statement Following SSPX Consecrations

This bishop speaks with a clear voice and what he has to say should give all those saying the SSPX acts like Protestants pause. The real Protestants promote the synodal church, disregarding dozens of popes who spoke with clear voices. They have traded those popes for those who speak off the cuff on airplanes and other miscellaneous locations causing serious confusion among the faithful

Here's the statement of Bishop Athanasius Schneider who is well named. Thanks to Diane Montagna for posting it on her substack:

The Dilemma Between Preserving the Unambiguous Integrity of the Catholic Faith and Being Canonically Recognized by the Pope

"They have the buildings, but we have the faith."

Neo-Arians take note!

Letter of Saint Athanasius to His Flock (4th Century A.D.)

"May God console you! ... What saddens you ... is the fact that others have occupied the churches by violence, while during this time you are on the outside. It is a fact that they have the premises --- but you have the Apostolic Faith. They can occupy our churches, but they are outside the true Faith. You remain outside the places of worship, but the Faith dwells within you. Let us consider: what is more important, the place or the Faith? The true Faith, obviously. Who has lost and who has won in the struggle --- the one who keeps the premises or the one who keeps the Faith?

In This St. Athanasius Moment, Please Pray for Bishop Joseph Strickland

#IstandwithBishopStrickland

Bishop Joseph Strickland is well-named. Among our many feckless bishops he stands out as a just man who defends his flock from the wolves.

And now?

Why We Need the Catholic Identity Conference

I signed up yesterday to watch the videos from the Catholic Identity Conference that was held in Pittsburgh earlier this month. The theme was "Uniting the Clans." Both the FSSP and the SSPX had priests speaking. To see them on the same program sharing the same podium surely emphasizes the gravity of the situation in our beloved Church. Michael Matt compared it to the different branches of our armed forces which can show incredible rivalry and disagreement among themselves until they face the common enemy when they immediately have each other's backs.

Several bishops and hundreds of clergy and laity attended to the point that the conference was sold out and others who wanted to come had to do so by signing up for the video presentations. Here's the promo video for the conference.

Cooperating with Evil is a Sin -- Especially When You're Wearing a Roman Collar!

Is this wolf in sheep's skin
wearing a roman collar?
My colleague Janet at Restore DC Catholicism posted a great video on the nine ways individuals participate in the sins of others. Cooperation with evil is, in fact, evil.

You don't have to commit a murder to be a party to it. The boyfriend who urges and pays for his girlfriend's abortion is every bit as guilty of killing their baby (perhaps more so) as the mother who agrees to it. The nurse who neglects a patient at the order of a doctor, participates in the death that follows. All those silent staff members complicit in the starvation and dehydration of Terri Schiavo were cooperators in her deliberate murder including Bishop Lynch of St. Petersburg, FL who aided and abetted it using his bully pulpit to endorse it. In 2007 when Lynch retired, Bobby Schindler wrote an open letter decrying the bishop's support for Terri's euthanasia saying, "When bishops don't do their job, innocent people die."
