"Sacredness Begins with Claritas" and Good Church Architecture!

Did you ever read Michael Rose's book, Ugly as Sin? It describes the impact of ugly churches on the faith. The Russians knew all about how to dehumanize. They adopted the bauhaus style of architecture which is promoted as simple and functional. But, in reality, it is boring and ugly. One can hardly even call it an architectural style. It's like children cutting holes in a box to make a door and windows and calling it a house. The purpose, in an atheistic society, was to treat man like a beast, eliminating the true, the good, and the beautiful from his life.

Bishop Morlino: Put Jesus Front and Center

The Tabernacle Isn't Just a Piece of the Furniture!

And by 2018, all the church's in his diocese will move the tabernacle back where it belongs -- in the center of the sanctuary. Praised be to Jesus Christ and two thumbs up for Bishop Morlino!

And two thumbs up to the pastor of St. Louis Catholic Church in Alexandria, VA. St. Louis was our family parish for over thirty years. During that time we grieved to see the tabernacle moved to a tiny side altar. In the latest renovation, the current pastor, Fr. Matthew Zuberbueler, moved Jesus back where he belongs to the center of the Church.

When a worshiper enters a Catholic Church, there should be no question about its purpose, the honor and glory of God especially in the Real Presence of His Son here on earth. The larger "house of the Lord" is only there for the worship of the one who dwells within the little golden house on the altar. Thank you, Bishop Morlino and Fr. Zuberbueler. May other bishops and clergymen follow your example to make the house of the Lord a fitting place for worshiping the King of the Universe.

Good News on Church Architecture

And it's bringing reverence back to the liturgy. Praised be to God!

This from the article:

Altar (Communion) rails are returning for all the right reasons.

Said Father Markey: “First, the Holy Father is requiring holy Communion from him be received on the knees. Second, it’s part of our tradition as Catholics for centuries to receive holy Communion on the knees. Third, it’s a beautiful form of devotion to our blessed Lord.”

James Hitchcock, professor and author of Recovery of the Sacred (Ignatius Press, 1995), thinks the rail resurgence is a good idea. The main reason is reverence, he said. “Kneeling’s purpose is to facilitate adoration,” he explained.

The Clergy Who Authorized This Monstrosity Should be Defrocked!

Remember Fatima? When the Blessed Mother appeared to the little shepherd children and asked for a basilica to be built there? Well, she obvious didn't authorize the new basilica shown in the video below. In fact, no real Catholic could have authorized this monstrosity. It must have been an atheist imposter working to destroy the Church. How many pilgrims want to visit this...what exactly do you call it?...a bunker?...a fortress?...hardly a church. What a way to treat a sacred shrine!

Mary said the faith would never be lost in Portugal. Now in the parish office at Fatima -- that's another story. This building could have been designed by the evil mayor of Ourem who threatened the children. This must be his revenge.
