One Canadian farmer refused to be intimidated by the corporate giant who sued Percy Schmeiser when their genetically modified canola seed polluted his fields. A court ruled that all the profit from Schmeiser's crop was due to Monsanto who control the seeds and require re-purchase of the GM seeds every year. Two Canadian courts ruled that the farmers no longer owned their seeds; they belonged to Monsanto. But the Schmeisers fought...and fought...and fought. They argued in the federal court of Canada that no one has the right to patent a higher life form whether it's a bird or bee or seed.

This is a time-sensitive documentary available for free until November 10th. Watch it and understand what Monsanto is doing, not only to the livelihood of farmers, but to the quality of our food. I just bought a bottle of canola oil and now I'm wondering how contaminated it is with GM canola seed.

Melinda Gates: She Cares So Much About the Poor!

The sanctimony and hypocrisy in this video is breathtaking! Melinda Gates, a white rich woman, is all for using contraception (and abortion) to eliminate the poor in the third world. (Those people of color are so profligate in their procreation, like rabbits for heavens' sake!) But, oh no, trust her...it's not about population control over blacks and latinos. No...those third world women are telling Melinda they just don't know how they will cope feeding and clothing their children. They need Melinda's help so they can plug and drug themselves into sterility like modern rich women in the first world who want to enjoy sex without responsibility. So Melinda will come to the rescue, not addressing corrupt governments that exploit their people and make it almost impossible for the poor to earn a living wage or get an education. No, Melinda will address the real problem...too man black and brown babies...and not enough "reproductive health services" offering a smorgasbord of pills and plugs and abortion machines to solve their problems. Melinda knows what the third world needs, not clean water, antibiotics, anti-diarrhea medicines and anti-malaria drugs. (Heck, more of those messy babies might live if they did that.) But Melinda knows what they really need - contraception! And Melinda cares...she says so as she waves around those well-manicured hands...so you just gotta believe her. And she'll gladly instruct the pope on how out-of-date he is. If he would just get on the bandwagon the Gates Foundation would gladly give him the Gates Award for Global Health!

Well, the Gates Foundation, despite Melinda's sanctimonious posturing, is just like the Rockefeller Foundation -- all about eliminating those smelly, unwashed poor people in the third world. And to do it, they will convene a summit this week in London touting concern for the poor and crying crocodile tears as they sell their snake oil population control poison.

Needless to say, their rhetoric is very effective along with help from their fellow travelers in the media. I recently had a discussion with an acquaintance who insisted that the world is overpopulated (Even though the entire world population could fit into less than a third of the U.S. at the population density of Houston). I doubt if my friend considers himself or his family among those causing the population problem, of course. It's all those "poor people in Africa." Well, when so much money and effort is going into forming the opinions of the average joe and jane, is his ignorant opinion surprising?

Wendy Wright of C-FAM had it right when she said:

"This is a new chapter in the population control movement. Elite billionaires and powerful governments use the guise of ‘helping poor women’ to extract permanent funding for abortion-promoting and population control groups. Contraception will have a higher priority than education, basic health care, infrastructure, and economic improvements - diverting funding from measures that empower women and communities. None of the contraception programs help pregnant women or newborns.” (More here.)

Bill Gates is on record with his anti-population statements and is also up to his ears in promoting genetically modified food. Here's what Gates said at a 2010 speech in Long Beach, CA:

First we got population. The world today has 6.8 billion people. That’s headed up to about 9 billion. Now if we do a really great job on new vaccines, health care, reproductive health services, we lower that by perhaps 10 or 15 percent.

This is a curious statement. How are "new vaccines" going to reduce population? Aren't vaccines meant to reduce the death toll from disease? In view of contaminated vaccines containing sterilizing agents used in a number of third world nations, Gates' comments raised a firestorm. Perhaps some people believe Gates, when he says vaccines that increase child survival will lead to reduced population, but those like me who know the history of these population control enthusiasts are more skeptical. (Now if they could just figure out how to control the population of faithful Catholic bloggers!)

Pray for Bill and Melinda Gates, David Rockefeller, and other rich elitists who plan to make the world over in their own image and likeness: white, rich, and few (except for the servants). Jesus made it very clear that it's hard for the rich to enter heaven. But I can't help thinking their goal isn't just eliminating the poor. Really...don't you think they also want to reduce the middle class so families won't have enough money to clutter up the nice vacation spots? That would certainly explain liberal policies that are bankrupting the middle class!

Genetically Modified Food: Is It Safe?

Scientists Torpedo GM Claims:

In 1994, fellow author Dr John Fagan returned grant money of USD 614,000 to the National Institutes of Health, after concerns about the safety and ethics of genetic engineering. “Crop genetic engineering, as practiced today, is a crude, imprecise, and outmoded technology. It can create unexpected toxins or allergens in foods and affect their nutritional value,” he warns.
“Recent advances point to better ways of using our knowledge of genomics to improve food crops, that do not involve GM.” Over three quarters of GM crops are intended to tolerate spraying with herbicides, which have created herbicide resistant strains, the so-called superweeds.
In addition, these toxic products have been linked to birth defects and cancer in epidemiological studies. “These findings fundamentally challenge the utility and safety of GM crops, but the biotech industry uses its influence to block research by independent scientists and uses its powerful PR machine to discredit independent scientists whose findings challenge this approach,” explains Dr Fagan.

Label Genetically Modified Food!

Consumers have a right to know what's in the food we buy. Funny how we hear ad nauseum that women have a right to choose to kill their babies, but we somehow don't have a right to know whether we're eating round up in the foods on the grocery shelf. Round Up ready seeds were supposed to increase crop yields and solve the food problems in the world. It hasn't happened that way. Instead, we are seeing super weeds and super bugs that have developed resistance to round up-- just like the super bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics -- one more demonstration of the law of unintended consequences. We may face starvation in the future, not because of overpopulation, but thanks to Monsanto and their GM crops. Plant heritage seeds in your garden! And support legislation to require consumer labeling. JUST LABEL IT!

Scientists Under Attack by Big GM Food Producers

I think we have a right to know what foods in the market are genetically modified. I sure don't want to eat them if I have a choice. Pretty soon we may have no choice. Most of the soybeans and corn are GM already. How many of the potatoes? And to see the scientists who speak the truth persecuted is shameful. Gee, where have we seen that before? Ah, I remember, the man-made global warming "deniers."

Monsanto is in bed with the Food and Drug Administration which is good for Monsanto but not so good for consumers who believe the FDA is really interested in protecting their health. President Obama's 2009 appointment of Michael Taylor, a former executive for Monsanto, illustrates just how corrupt the system is where the fox shuffles back and forth between his den and the henhouse.

As for the genetically modified foods being produced by the corporate giant, more and more studies are showing that they contribute to chronic illness, organ damage, and cancer. As they say, "You can't fool Mother Nature." But check it out for yourself.  3 Approved GMOs Connected to Organ Damage
There is also some speculation that genetically modified crops with built-in pesticides may be impacting the collapse of bee and butterfly colonies. That should certainly be studied because it harbors ill for the future of food production.
