Austin Ruse and Crazy Cultural Hypocrisy...

...where "words kill" and literal killing is just a choice.

What am I talking about? A few days ago Austin Ruse, head of C-FAM (Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute), a U.N. watch dog group, filled in as a guest host on American Family Radio. During the show he said this about gender studies what passes for education at the modern university:

That is the nonsense that they teach in women’s studies at Duke University, this is where she learned this. The toxic stew of the modern university is gender studies, it’s “Sex Week,” they all have “Sex Week” and teaching people how to be sex-positive and overcome the patriarchy. My daughters go to a little private religious school and we pay an arm and a leg for it precisely to keep them away from all of this kind of nonsense. I do hope that they go to a Christian college or university and to keep them so far away from the hard left, human-hating people that run modern universities, who should all be taken out and shot.

Does anyone seriously think Austin literally advocates the execution of college professors?

The hate-hype hogs never tire of accusing the right of hate, while they, of course, are all sweetness and light. Don't you love it, you terrible right-wing nasties? The left goes into foaming-at-the-mouth self-righteous fulminations against Rush Limbaugh while going completely mum about the excesses of their own soft and cuddly hate-mongers like Bill Maher and David Letterman. Frankly, I've never seen so much of the X-rated alphabet: the b-word, the c-word, the f-word, etc. as I have from the liberal left. Funny, but I can't get over the sneaking suspicion that the left are a bunch of hypocrites beginning with the First Hypocrites living in the White House.

A Walk on the Left Bank

While the left continues to fulminate about Rush, a little walk down memory lane is in order to see the left's idea of "respecting women" which includes Playboy advocating "hate-f***ing" Michelle Malkin, Letterman making a joke about the statutory rape of Sarah Palin's daughter, Perez Hilton calling Carrie Prejean a "dumb b***ch," etc. ad nauseum.

Now where is the pulling of sponsors and the unrelenting rehash by the media about the treatment of these conservative women? Don't hold your breath.

See the left's idea of respect for women here. And then ask whether Rush's statements, for which he has apologized, were as egregious as they are. Frankly, I didn't hear obscenities coming out of his mouth.  He was insulting and provocative and imprudent, but the unbalanced outrage vs. the shrug and wink about demeaning treatment of women coming from the left is breathtakingly hypocritical! And that hypocrisy includes Sandra Fluke's. She didn't mind appearing on Ed Schultz's show. Remember him? He called Laura Ingraham a "right wing slut." He apologized and Ingraham graciously accepted it, unlike Fluke's petulant attitude toward Rush.

But hypocrisy is the left's badge of honor. They follow Saul Alinsky's adage to make your opponents abide by their rules, while no rules apply to you. If you want to understand the left, read Alinsky's Rules for Radicals. It's a real eye-opener that explains everything you see coming out of the progressive camp. Jesus knew all about this which is why he advised his followers:

"Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves."

Rush was pretty accurate when he said he shouldn't have sunk to the level of his opponents. I agree.  We need to remember, as Christians, that they are not the enemy, just the useful dupes of the father of lies. Pray, fast, and fight for the truth. Nothing makes the left more upset than that.

Ah, the hypocrisy of the liberal left

My mom was fond of the old saying, "Practice what you preach." The proverb came to mind as I read about a North Carolina state senator,R.C. Soles, who shot an intruder who was a former law client. (This story gets more interesting by the minute.) The 74-year-old gun control advocate has been charged criminally in the case and will not run again for the seat he's held since 1968.

The case reminds me of another gun control fanatic, liberal columnist Carl Rowan, who shot an intruder in 1988 with an unregistered gun (a crime in D.C.). The teenager was swimming in his backyard pool. Rowan first claimed the gun was registered, then changed his story. When criticized and ridiculed for his hypocrisy, Rowan had the chutpah to say, "I am for gun control, but I am not for unilateral gun control, in which I leave my family naked to the druggies and the crooks out there." In other words, Carl Rowan could have a gun because he needed to protect his family, but you can use a baseball bat at your house. No doubt he wasn't really aiming at the teenager, but trying to shoot a hole in his rubber tube.

Liberals are so funny! Rowan went off to his heavenly (or other) reward in 2000 leaving the world bereft of one more fulminating leftist hypocrite. Pray for the repose of his soul and in his honor defend the Constitutional right to bear arms.
