Know the Enemy in Your Own Camp!

When my sons were teens and attending Catholic high school, I told them that just because someone is wearing a roman collar (or a habit for that matter), it doesn't mean that he (or she) is telling you the truth. The boys went to Bishop Ireton in Alexandria, a pricey institution that required serious family sacrifices. Sad to say, not only was I fighting abortion sidewalk counseling at the abortion business next door, but I was fighting with the principal and some of the teachers over abortion. Not once did I ever see any attempt by the Ireton community to oppose the killing within a stone's throw of the Tabernacle!

Tools of the Trade

Susan and I have been chatting lately about starting our own little series called The 
Flashlight. 

Why the flashlight? 

Well, first of all, we can't afford a spotlight. We don't have a green room or whatever they call that green screen that can be used to put up any background. We don't have fancy cameras and videographers to create Hollywood style programming. We're just a couple of women with a blog.

While we lack fancy equipment, we do have pencils, keyboards, and .... flashlights! I even have a cute little lantern I got at an anniversary party that provides the Biblical equivalent of the little bowl of oil with a wick that lights about one step.
