A Tired Old Rescuer Returns Once Again to the Field of Battle

This morning I participated as a supporter/sidewalk counselor at a Red Rose Rescue in Washington, D.C. (See the press release.) Three people, including a Catholic priest, Fr. Fidelis Moscinski CFR, entered the Capitol Women's Services (CWS) abortuary on Georgia Ave. to talk to the women and offer them red roses and help. Another group also accompanied by a priest, Fr. Stephen Imbarrato,  entered an abortuary elsewhere in the city. Both groups shut down abortions for several hours. At least one woman left the Georgia Ave. site carrying a red rose.

This morning several members of the peaceful and prayerful Red Rose Rescue ministry, including 2 Catholic priests, entered the multi unit buildings housing 2 late term abortion facilities in Washington DC in the hope of saving babies from abortion by witnessing to the moms in crisis. The two DC facilities are Capital Women’s Services located at 6323Georgia Ave NW Suite 210 (https://www.capitalwomensservices.com/index.php) allegedly owned by disgraced abortionist Steven Brigham (https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2014/02/03/a-botched-operation) and Washington SurgiClinic located at 2112 F St NW Suite 400 (https://www.washingtonsurgi-clinic.com) owned and operated by Cesare Santangelo who has been exposed of serious practice violations including the death of a woman during an abortion. Rescues, sidewalk counseling, and pro-life help centers all save lives. I can tell you that for sure because I've done all three. I have a poster with photos of babies saved by both rescues and sidewalk counseling and at the pregnancy center many women brought in their precious babies to show them off and say thank you.

The Preeminent Issue in Our Country is the Murder of the Unborn...

...and among those suffering for the little ones today are the Red Rose Rescuers. This morning I received the message below from Monica Miller, director of Citizens for a Pro-LIfe Society (CPLS). I know most of you can't be there physically, but we can all be there in prayer. Even if you read this after the hearing, please pray. God is not limited by time. Every prayer you say for these defendants, the judge and the attorneys will be heard and will pour graces down upon those crucial courtroom moments. Beg for the intercession of the Holy Spirit for the courageous defendants threatened with this draconian charge. When you consider the hands off treatment of violent ANTIFA protestors, this persecution stands in stark relief. Lord Jesus, King of the Universe, have mercy on us.

The Red Rose Rescues: Saving Lives, One Baby at a Time

Pray the rescue rosary!

I'm a rescuer. I was arrested a few dozen times from the mid 1970s through the 1990s. At one "mothers rescue," several of us went into an Alexandria abortion mill with our little babies strapped to our bodies in carriers and slings. Our children witnessed to everyone in a powerful way the reality of the little ones we were there to save. It was the one rescue where we weren't arrested. 

Rescuers are a little like Marines: once a rescuer, always a rescuer. A rescuer's heart cradles the little ones in danger of abortion...and their moms...and all the others involved in the holocaust including the hired hit men and women. Rescuers don't want anyone to be destroyed, either physically or spiritually. We pray for conversion of hearts!

The rescue movement has changed over the years. In the '70s the action was small groups going into the facilities and blocking the doors. I was involved in a number of those and spent time in the Alexandria and Arlington jails as a result. 

Sunday Meditation: The Blessings of Persecution

What an appropriate feast day (The Birth of St. John the Baptist) to reflect on persecution of those who stand up for the family and are persecuted for it! They walk in the footsteps of St. John.

I received the email below from a friend and supporter of the Red Rose Rescues. If you aren't familiar with these events, they are totally peaceful. Rescuers go into the waiting room of an abortion mill and quietly give the mothers a red rose and a card telling them help is available. They offer concern and counseling. They do not block doors or do anything aggressive; they simply offer alternatives to the women and ask them to do what mothers do -- protect their children.

Mary Wagner, Inspiration for the Red Rose Rescues, is Released from Prison.

I received the following email today about Canadian rescuer Mary Wagner who was released mid-trial on her own recognizance. Note the significance of the date of her release and the date the trial resumes. None of this is accidental. Nothing "just happens." God is very close to those who rescue as I can testify from personal experience. Rejoice and pray for all those who are willing to risk arrest and jail to protect babies in the womb.
