I've been re-reading People of the Lie by Scott Peck. I don't agree with everything he writes, but as I neared the end of the book in the last chapter but one, I came across this absolutely true statement about free will:

Each of us is ultimately free to choose how we are going to behave. We are even free to reject what we have been taught and what is normal for our society.We may even reject the few instincts we have, as do those who rationally choose celibacy or submit themselves to death by martyrdom. Free will is the ultimate human reality.

NO CHOICE FOR YOU!

My husband and I are reading Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. In the Preface, Lewis describes the problem of words losing their commonly-understood and clear meanings. Certainly, if that was a problem 75 years ago when Lewis gave the original BBC radio broadcasts on which the book is based, it is multiplied 100X today in our politically correct and politically charged world.

The degradation of some words is obvious. Gay used to be a term that celebrated joy. In high school I had a role in Our Hearts Were Young and Gay, a comedy about two young women, fresh out of college, on a European tour. It was a delightful romp. I can just imagine what a play of that title today would be. Just the thought of it brings X-rated images and dirty sniggers to mind.

The word "choice" is synonymous with ripping an unborn baby limb from limb in abortion. I can never hear the word in any context today without the chant booming in my head, "My body, my choice." But don't you dare make a choice that offends the liberal left! In their doctrinaire tyranny they scream, "No choice for you!" and mobilize their verbal weapons of mass destruction to annihilate you.

At least on his approach to answering questions on abortion. The pro-abort crowd always want to talk about protecting a "clump of cells" or exceptions or anything that deflects the debate away from their death dealing extremism.

But the reality is that the Democratic party favors killing unborn babies at any moment up until birth by any means including stabbing them in the neck and sucking out their brains. So when Paul was asked about abortion, he focused on the Democrats' pro-abort extremism. Here's the question from Paul Steinhauser of CNN:

Think about it. Military in harms way have plenty of reason to pray. As they say, there are no atheists in a foxhole. And don't you think it might actually be a comfort to a marine grunt or a navy sailor or an army private to have a Bible with the insignia of his service on the cover. What a great gift from a Christian mom and dad to their son or daughter as they go off to defend their country. But our culture that sanctifies some choices has just dumped this one. Kill your kid if you want. But you sure better not have a Bible with a service insignia on it! Wonder if they will make it crime to put an insignia sticker on a Bible cover.

Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes...the pro-choice crowd wants abortion to be "safe, legal, and rare." That's why they immediately challenge bad guys when they set up their chop shops.

Here's the scoop on one more D.C. area butcher, James Pendergraft. No license? Ah...what the hey! Just gotta help those poor, desperate women who need their late-term babies killed in cold blood.

How's he do it? “intracardiac injection of medication into the fetal heart.” (Murderers have always used stabbing people in the heart among their panoply of killing techniques.)

This Florida abortionist who can't practice in his five abortion mills there because his license is suspended is operating at a "secret location" in the metropolitan area, which is interesting because he has no license to practice medicine in D.C., Maryland, or Virginia. The man, who has injured many women in Florida, is now set to butcher babies and their moms here.

As far as I can determine there is no concern from pro-abortion feminists and other abortion-minded groups who swoon over "docs" who are willing to stab babies in the head, the heart, wherever! Just as long as the mom gets her "choice" and the babies are dead, who cares how the deed is done?

Pro-Choicers, You Gotta Love 'Em!

Don't you just love the open-minded tolerance of the pro-choice crowd. Their latest demonstration of it is the effort to ban an ad during the Superbowl featuring Tim Tebow and his mom. Tebow is the football player well known for sporting scripture passages on his face during games. According to reports the ad doesn't mention abortion, it simply relates in 30 seconds the story of his mom choosing life for her son. Celebrate life is the theme, but the harpies from NOW and other feminist groups are going ballistic over the thought that anyone would put a positive perspective on choosing life. After all choice for the feminists isn't about making a decision between aborting or not aborting. Choice in their lexicon IS abortion.

This is just one more example of the dishonesty of the pro-abortion crowd. The only choice they support is abortion. They offer no support groups to help women choose life. They offer women no option but killing they're children. And they hate those who portray the choice for life in a positive way.

The feminist groups are calling the ad offensive and divisive. Is that a joke? I've walked away from a lot of Superbowls because of the disgusting ads. This one won't be one of them. In fact, I may watch the Superbowl just to see it and I expect there will many others like me.

As for the feminists, polls show they are in a shrinking pool. The country is becoming more pro-life. Soon the only ones listening to their rants will be themselves. Say a Hail Mary for their conversion.

Gardasil: Would you really want to give this to your 12-year-old?

"The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) [documented] 28 deaths in 2008 associated with Gardasil, the vaccination for human papillomavirus (HPV), up from the 19 deaths in 2007. The total number of Gardasil-related deaths is 47 since the vaccine was approved in 2006. Overall, the FDA documented 6,723 “adverse events” related to Gardasil in 2008, of which 1,061 were considered “serious,” and 142 considered “life threatening.”

Get the facts before you get the drug or give it to your adolescent daughter. This is what they want to make MANDATORY for your children. Government knows best after all!

Governor Tim Kaine tried to force this drug on Virginia families. Democrats talk about choice but mandate evils like abortion, sex ed, homosexual indoctrination, same-sex marriage, etc. Meanwhile they trample the rights of parents to exercise authority over their children's health and welfare and the Constitutional rights of all Americans .

In the next election throw out every liberal incumbent regardless of party affiliation. Vote for politicians who will uphold the Constitution and respect the rights of citizens, especially parental rights.

No Wonder the Episcopal Church is Splitting

An Episcopal priestess, Nina Churchman, claims God rejoices in abortion.

Here's what she wrote on the opinion page of ECUSA's (Episcopal Church, USA) website:

After reading the 3 June article, "Pregnancy-loss Prayers", I found the text for Rachel's Tears online and was sickened to discover that the rite for abortion is couched wholly in terms of sin and transgression. The Episcopal Church, by resolution, has long held that women have the freedom to choose an abortion. It is not considered a sin. That this new rite begins with the words, "I seek God's forgiveness..." and includes "God rejoices that you have come seeking God's merciful forgiveness..." is contrary to the resolution. Women should be able to mourn the loss of an aborted fetus without having to confess anything. God, unlike what the liturgy states, also rejoices that women facing unplanned pregnancies have the freedom to carefully choose the best option - birth, adoption or abortion - for themselves and their families. No woman makes this decision lightly or frivolously. But each needs the non-judgmental and non-coercive support of her faith community to make the best decision for her circumstances.
The wording of this liturgy focuses solely on guilt and sin instead of the grief and healing that may accompany a very difficult but appropriate decision to terminate a pregnancy. If anyone is paying attention at the General Convention, this rite should not be approved.

Churchman represents exactly why the Episcopal church is splintering. She claims to speak the word of God but defends the murder of his little ones. She is a person of the lie who abandons those most in need of the truth. Jesus condemned the religious authorities of his day calling them "whited sepulchres filled with dead men's bones." Nina Churchman and other ministers of death like her are filled to the brim with the dead bones of tiny little girls and boys only waiting for time to turn them into men and women.

I wonder what she would say to a member of her congregation who came up to her and said, "My mom almost aborted me, but she met a minister who spoke the truth about my value as a little child of God. I'm sure glad she didn't meet you instead. I wouldn't be here." How would Nina Churchman, who thinks God "rejoices" in the murder of his creation, reply?

No Choice for Doctors: Catholic Democrats Deny Conscience Protection

Sixteen Catholic Senators, 15 Democrats and one Republican, voted last Thursday to deny conscience protection to doctors and other health care workers. Sen. Tom Coburn's amendment to the Senate budget bill would "protect the freedom of conscience for patients and the right of health care providers to serve patients without violating their moral and religious convictions." It was defeated 56-41.

If all Catholic Senators had voted in favor of the amendment it would have passed 62 to 35. Once again Catholic Democrats did the dirty deed. Is it any wonder one is tempted to ask, "Can Catholics be Democrats?" Only one Catholic Democrat voted for Coburn's amendment, Bob Casey of Pennsylvania. What impact did Bishop Joseph Martino's correction and denial of Communion under Canon Law 915 have on the Senator. Please pray for Bob Casey and for the conversion of his brethren who voted against choice, the choice of doctors NOT to perform abortions and other evil acts that violate their ethics (and the ethics of the pagan doctor Hippocrates who used to be the standard for medical care). The death of conscience legislation will force many Catholics out of health care careers. Isn't that consoling? Think of how safe you will be when the only medical care is available from those who think killing patients is an appropriate medical treatment. Baby boomers, get your affairs in order.

Nine Catholic Senators voted in favor of the amendment; Murkowski (R-AK), Martinez (R-FL), Risch (R-ID), Brownback (R-KS), Bunning (R-KY), Vitter (R-LA), Johanns(R-NE), Voinovich (R-OH), and Casey (D-PA).

The Land of the Free? What every happened to Choice?

After a three year fight, the matchmaking service, eHarmony, has agreed to link-up homosexual couples. This bodes ill for the future. We've already seen agressive action against pro-life pharmacists who are often punished or fired for refusing to dispense abortion drugs like RU-486. Medical personnel also face discrimination for refusing to participate in abortions. And with a new, more aggressive administration what can we expect? The force of government coming down hard on anyone who resists cooperation with the culture of death. The freedom to choose crowd has always been about coercion. No choice but their choice.
