Fr. Haley Questios the "Fatal Inconsistencies" in the Way Church Leaders Deal with Homosexuality in the Priesthood!

Ever since he was booted from the Diocese of Arlington for asking Bishop Loverde to clean up the homosexual perversion in our rectories, Fr. James Haley has continued to raise the relevant moral issues and ask for answers. 

For years, I'm sure he felt like he was talking to himself. Maybe now, as the lid is coming off the putrid sewage tank, people will hear him. 

In an email the other day, he offered a list of issues that relate to the problem of homosexual priests. There are so many in the scandal and he listed several:

• precepts of Canon Law (which for example strongly encourages priests to associate and live together) -- i.e. the living arrangements of seminaries, rectories, religious communities, priest retreats, vacations...

• the basic fundamentals of morality (such as avoiding the near occasion of sin -- part of the act of contrition for a worthy confession)

• the clear double standard between heterosexual (OSA) and homosexual (SSA) priests The Real Story of Celibacy

Will probably be related to the homosexual priest scandal because they need money to finance their dissolute lifestyle.

How Many of Priestly Sex Abuse Cases Were Based on Fraud?

We live in an age of rampant dishonesty. Studies of students show that many have no problem with submitting plagiarized papers, cheating on tests, etc. Ted Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Joe Biden, and any number of other prominent figures are well-known for submitting plagiarised work. So is anyone really surprised that where big bucks are involved people will lie and cheat? "Love of money is the root of all evils."

A lawyer and retired FBI agent who have investigated over 100 priestly sex abuse allegations in Los Angeles believe about half are fraudulent. Donald Steier, a veteran investigative aattorney, says, among other things,“I am aware of several plaintiffs who testified that they realized that they had been abused only after learning that some other person – sometimes a relative – had received a financial settlement from the Archdiocese or another Catholic institution.” (Emphasis in original.) Hey, the Catholic Church has deep pockets!

Certainly, priests who commit terrible crimes against children must be brought to justice, but, in our system of justice, people have a right to be faced by their accusers and receive a free trial. For many priests the accusation is the equivalent of guilt. How easy for someone with a grudge against a priest to accuse him as pay back. An accusation should bring a serious diocesan investigation. Certainly accused bishops have made sure they got all the benefits of diocesan resources to defend themselves. But many have been quick to sell their spiritual sons down the river.

Homosexuality in the Hierarchy, The Cardinal McCarrick Syndrome

Richard Sipe takes seriously the homosexual problem in the Church. In a recent post on his blog about the homosexuality of Cardinal McCarrick (Read about it here.... ) he points out the serious problem of men like McCarrick being in power. How many proteges were raised to positions of influence by their homosexual superiors? One thinks of Cardinal Bernardin and his "boys." He did more to damage the Church than most and, while he maintained his secret (more or less) until he died, he couldn't help himself from specifying that a gay choir sing at his wake.

It is particularly ironic to me that Fr. James Haley was thrown out of the priesthood for recognizing the reality of what Richard Sipe says and trying to get Bishop Loverde to do something about it. The bishop did something all right. He turned Fr. Haley into the invisible man, the priest without a diocese, the shepherd without a flock. But Fr. Haley was right! No homosexual should be in a position of authority in the Church and here's why:

More ominous are the relationships of sexual sponsorship in which an older priest or superior takes an attractive and responsive younger priest into his affectionate embrace. Yes, some of these associations do become sexual. As the senior man rises in stature, position, and power he brings his protégé along with him up the scale of the organization. Sometimes the younger man eventually equals his mentor’s stature; he too can repeat the pattern so well learned and practiced. This pattern is well exercised in Rome.

There are scores of reliable documents that demonstrate this practice and people involved.

The main point is that the dynamic is in operation and affects even good, observant clergy who cannot speak openly because the secret system will not tolerate them. Where are they to go? The press will not touch malfeasance on this level of the power system without impossible vetting that will expose the whistler blower to potential or certain destruction. Who of the many-in-the-know within the secret clerical system have that kind of courage?

What I have written to Pope Benedict (Cf. home page) is but a simple example of the systemic dynamic of celibate violation within the priesthood and some of the dire consequences for the church, the clergy, and our youth.

I have expressed my awareness of how difficult it is even for him to address this dimension of the problem that I have named the Cardinal McCarrick Syndrome. Great Saints like Pope Gregory I, Peter Damian, the patron of church reform, and the other saints illustrated in C. Colt Anderson’s Great Catholic Reformers have tried, some with more success than others. (Cf. Books of Note) There is a need for such saints today. The problem is present, operative, and of major magnitude.

N.B. Just for the record, I do not agree with Richard Sipe on a number of issues. He favors elimination of priestly celibacy, for example. I don't see how that will solve any problems; it just introduces new ones.

Columbian Priest Spills the Beans About Homosexual Priests

You think the homosexual priest problem is behind us? Get real. Recently a Columbian priest published a book about the sexual immorality, mainly homosexual immorality, in the priesthood. Here's a portion of an article describing his book. You can read the complete text here....

In 2007, Fr. Robledo, formerly head of the ecclesiastical tribunal for the archdiocese of Cali, made public evidence, including videos, of sexual and financial misconduct among many of the archdiocese's clergy. Among his allegations were that several priests were conducting ongoing sexual relationships, including with women and young boys. Some priests have secretly fathered children and in two cases have been sued by the mothers for child support.

In a letter to Archbishop Sarasti, made public in the newspapers, Fr. Robledo spoke of "chronic and shameful homosexual conducts of friends and close collaborators" of the archdiocese. In a radio interview, Father Robledo said that Archbishop Sarasti responded to the charges by saying that such acts belong to the priests' private lives.

How many other bishops are running the same kind of scam in their dioceses? Not to mention the Catholic college presidents who are scandalizing their students. Where heresy and dissent reign, can general immorality be far behind?

New York Times Covers Up Homosexuality of Abusers

The media hypocrisy is staggering. While attacking the Church and the pope, the New York Times is doing everything possible to hide the homosexual nature of the abuse. Check it out here. These folks want to take down the Church while protecting their homosexual friends. Considering how many there are in show biz (and isn't that what network news is these days?) it's not really surprising.

Cardinal Ratzinger's Letter: The Smoking Gun Fires a Blank

The 1985 letter from Cardinal Ratzinger is being hyped by the media as proof that the Cardinal was soft on sex abuse. When I read the letter I sort of scratched my head. This is the smoking gun that proves the Church was soft on sex abuse?

Fr. Joseph Fessio puts this in perspective. (Read the complete column here.) Here's a portion of what he writes:

When John Paul II was elevated to the papacy in the Fall of 1978, he immediately changed the policy on priestly dispensations. I don't have the exact dates and numbers at hand, but I remember at the time that many of us were amazed that the hundreds of dispensations per year (and it may have been thousands) under John Paul II's predecessor, Paul VI, suddenly were reduced to almost zero. It was almost impossible to get a dispensation in 1980.

What was John Paul's intent? To restore the integrity of the priesthood and of marriage. These commitments are permanent. A priest may be removed from ministry, but he will not be given a dispensation to marry. Priests are to be made to take their commitments with utmost seriousness. They will be an example to married couples to take theirs seriously also. When a priest makes a promise of celibacy, it's forever; when a couple make vows of marriage, it's forever.

This is the decisive context of Cardinal Ratzinger's letter to Bishop Cummins. It is not a smoking gun. It did not mean that Ratzinger was not taking the priest's sins seriously. (He called the accusations "very serious" [gravis momenti].) It meant that he, following the policy of John Paul II, was taking the priesthood and its commitments very seriously.

And again, this entire affair had nothing to do with preventing further abuse by this priest. That had already been done, or should have been done, by the local bishop.

I think the media will have to come up with something more substantive than this before they string up Pope Benedict. But have no fear, they will keep trying.

It is certainly interesting how little attention the media gives to cleaning up the abuse in the public schools where children can be sent off to abortion mills without telling their parents, and where teachers and coaches in large numbers have abused kids. Somehow the media isn't particularly interested in that story. In fact they aid and abet the psychological and emotional molesting of children by gay activists.

The American College of Pediatricians recently warned about the damage to children from pro-gay promotion of gender confusion. But don't hold your breath waiting for the mainstream media to report that story. The kids are just collateral damage in the homosexual war against straight America.
