Bishop Bruskewitz: A Bold Man of Truth

Interview with Life Site News

Are you ready for the persecution? It's here and if you don't toe the party line you are likely to feel the jackboots!

Bishop Bruskewitz tells it like it is with no pulled punches. I wish he were my bishop. Since Bishop Loverde reached 75 in September we are waiting for announcement that his resignation has been accepted and we have a new bishop. I really fear that Pope Francis will give us a shepherd like Cupich. I have certainly been critical of Bishop Loverde, but have always prayed he would stay here because I didn't want to see him promoted. Now I wonder what's in store for us.

Lord Jesus, please protect our diocese and send us a shepherd after your own heart!

Three Way Marriage? That Will Never Happen!

I remember back in the 1970s when the abortion crowd poo-pooed the idea that abortion could lead to euthanasia. Of course, they had to do that because if anyone could see the big picture and the devastation that would come, who would support it? Gradualism is the way to win approval for the most horrific evils. Just look at Holland where the elderly are afraid to check into the hospital for fear of being summarily euthanized.

And now it's happening with faux "marriage." And of course it's happening quickly. The first three-way marriage has occurred in Thailand. Read about it here. It's the same M.O. that characterized the abortion movement. Here's a bit from the article with my additions in red:

Are Men and Women Interchangeable? Or Are We Complimentary?

Logic has almost disappeared from our society replaced with feelings. Lack of logic is obvious in discussions about homosexual marriage. "It's a question of fairness," we're told. "How can we deny to two men the right to marry when a man and woman have that right?" Now how exactly does that make sense. It's like saying, "How can we deny the right of men to conceive and bear children, when women can?" Or "How can we deny the right of women to use urinals when men can?"

Some things cannot be used in some ways because of their natures. You can use a match to light a fire, but you can't screw it into an outlet to light a room.

Hmmm...Maybe It's Time to Stop Letting Demons into Your Home

I read about a saint years ago, perhaps Elizabeth Seton, who had a vision of a box inside homes that provided an entrance to the devil to attack the family. The article below shows exactly how demonic that "box" is. Do you care about your kids? Maybe it's time to consider eliminating the filth before your children are totally corrupted!

Cronyism in Gay "Marriage" Case?

Gosh! Who woulda thunk it? An openly gay judge conniving with attorneys to overthrow the will of the people and impose a perverse definition of marriage on the state? Unthinkable? Or is it just business as usual among activist judges imposing their will through judicial legislation? Think about it...no matter what the people vote for, judges can just make it disappear...poof!...by finding new rights in the penumbra of the Constitution. What a carnival trick!

The Damage Done to Children Raised by Same-Sex Parents

Will society listen to the experiences of the victims? Children have a right "to a mother and a father." Same-sex "marriage" is a lie! "Everyone needs a mother and a father....The fight for gay marriage is about what adults want....Mother and father are worth fighting for." It's time to stop exploiting children so homosexuals can play house and pretend their relationships are no different from the complementarity of husband and wife. Pass this around and defend the institution of marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman for the sake of the children.

Some Priests Act Like Priests - Thank God!

Update as of 11/16: Barnsville Teen not Denied Confirmation

Two thumbs up for Fr. Gary LeMoine from Assumption Church in Barnesville, MN. He apparently delayed the Sacrament of Confirmation for a 17-year-old boy who posted this photo on Facebook.

The ignorant Huffington Post called the Sacrament a "rite of passage" and is attacking the priest, of course. But Confirmation is a lot more than that. It is the strengthening of our Baptismal promises to reject Satan and all his empty works and promises.

It is the duty of the parish priest to affirm that a candidate is ready for the Sacrament and prepared to fight for the faith. How could Fr. LeMoine, in good conscience, say that this young man is ready to defend his Catholic faith when he is publicly defending evil and showing that he either does not know the faith or rejects a particular doctrine (which is the definition of heresy). He is not doing God's work and is obviously proud of it. No matter how sincere he is (his faith may have been formed by cafeteria Catholic parents),  he is sincerely wrong, and no priest worthy of the name disciple of Christ should let this young man receive Confirmation unless he repudiates his heretical belief, a belief he is publicly professing in this photo. Pray for his conversion and for his mom who proclaims her "shock." I wish I thought she was shocked by her son't behavior, but I suspect she was shocked that any priest would dare to say her child isn't ready to receive the sacrament. After all, these days we are supposed to be the Church of Nice where everyone can do whatever he wants and call it holy.

If you would like to send a message of support to Fr. LeMoine, and I urge you to do so, go here.

Catholic Faith Under Fire

We all knew it had to come. The homosexuals have been suing photographers and caterers who won't work their "weddings." Of course they will sue the Church for "discrimination." So check out this catholic hospital facing the wrath of two lesbians who demand healthcare coverage for their "marriage." I suspect they are probably a front couple with an organized homosexual lobby behind them. The new homosexual strategy is sue-sue-sue. The courts appear to be lackeys of evil. Liberal judges carry water for all kinds of abominations. When the proponents of evil can't get what they want they often take it out of the legislative arena and into the shadow government of the 9-man Supreme Court oligarchy. (I know, I know - generics are out of fashion. I amend: "the six men/three women oligarchy.)

Here are a few of the abominations given to the country by the Supreme Court:

Dred Scott vs. Sanford (1857) upholding slavery.
Buck vs. Bell (1927) upholding forced sterilization.
Engel vs. Vitle (1962) upholding a ban on nondenominational prayer in the public schools.
Griswold vs. Connecticut (1965) upholding bogus right to privacy later used to support numerous evils.
Roe vs. Wade (1973) upholding abortion on demand through all nine months.
Lawrence vs. Texas (2003) upholding the right to engage in deviant sexual practices.

We can only imagine the abominations that will take place in the future. Imagine the field day over Obamacare. What an opportunity to hammer Christians. Got your rosary?

If the Studies Don't Get the "Right" Answers -- Dump 'Em

Situations that conflict with the natural law, are bound to be problematic. The hypothesis that same sex child-rearing is detrimental to children makes sense. And if the data shows that's the case, frankly I'm not surprised. But those who don't want to believe facts love to attack the results (and the scientists) whose work disputes their bogus claims. Kinsey was a champ when it came to doing bogus science and he sanctioned and paid child abusers to "prove" his evil theories were true. The media absolutely loved him and continue to promote him as the adulatory film about him shows. So the con goes on enabled by a liberal media who see their jobs as effecting change in society.  And success has made them bolder. They won't be satisfied until every faithful Catholic is working the fields in a gulag. Unless, of course, they decide the lions are cheaper and more efficient.

Same-Sex Marriage Paves the Way for Polygamy and Incest

Many "cool" with polygamy.

And after that what? If you're cool with your personal definition who's to say you're wrong if you want to marry your "best friend" who happens to be Fido? What if you want to marry your mom or dad? Hey...it gives new meaning to doing your own thing.

Is Another Roe v. Wade Coming? This Time on "Gay" Marriage?

The writing is on the wall as they say. The California ruling declaring Proposition 8 unconstitutional, made by a reportedly homosexual judge (Is any media asking why he didn't recuse himself?), is moving us toward the next national abomination: overturning all state laws against same-sex marriage. Most states, by the way, have laws on the books defining marriage between a man and a woman, just as they had laws outlawing abortion before Roe v. Wade cast them all to the whirlwind.

The decision was so obviously biased that any right-thinking person must see it. Unfortunately, right-thinking is rare these days and in the world of homo-correctness any argument to overturn reason will do. The national motto, for all practical purposes, is I'm okay, you're okay.

Judge Vaughn Walker says that the Constitution guarantees the equality of heterosexual and homosexual marriage. In other words, they are the same before the law. Such a ruling is ridiculous on its face. If it were true, it wouldn't matter to a society whether people chose one or the other. But, in fact, if everyone, or even a majority of citizens, chose same-sex marriage it would mean the death of the society. How does sodomy advance the common good which is the purpose of the law?

On the other hand, if technology can give us cloned children and petri-dish children nurtured in an artificial womb, who needs babies arriving in the "normal" way. We will be in the utopia depicted in Brave New World where children are conceived in test-tubes, "nurtured" in state institutions, and channeled into their future roles through behavior modification. They will be kept happy and in-line with the drug Soma, orgies, and mind-deadening entertainment (the feelies).

We're already getting close to that "reality." We look like Brave New World with our focus on films and "reality" shows, drugs like Prozac and tranquilizers to reduce emotional pain and anxiety. There's our sanctification of sterility with the priesthood of Planned Parenthood dispensing its sacraments to ensure the lack of fruit in the womb while it chants "choice, choice, choice... tolerance, tolerance, tolerance."

This latest ruling will likely wend its way to the Supreme Court. If Obama names one more justice (What a name for those who have dispensed injustice and insanity from the bench), the outcome will likely enshrine same sex sodomy in the law.  And our transformation into Sodom will move forward another giant step.

The balance of power has never really worked in this country. I don't think a Supreme Court justice has ever been impeached although there are certainly plenty of times it would have been appropriate.  The power of those nine (actually, a simple majority of five) is unlimited. The only check on their power appears to be mass rebellion by the people like the Civil Rights Movement. But only good people stand up to evil and we are no longer good.  De Tocqueville predicted our downfall when he said that the United States would only be great as long as we were a moral people. We are a moral people no longer.

But the remnant can keep the truth alive like the Japanese of Nagasaki who two-hundred years after the expulsion of the Jesuit missionaries continued to transmit the faith to new generations. Please God, we will have the same courage to defend the truth and keep the faith alive in our children and grandchildren. If we do not, we will be like the evil king of Babylon, King Belshazzar in the Book of Daniel, who saw the heavenly writing on the wall that predicted not only the destruction of his kingdom, but his personal destruction as well.

"St. Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle...."

Let's Hear it for Marriage and for a Bishop Proclaiming It!

Archbishop John Nienstedt of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis has a great article on marriage in the Star-Tribune. Here are a few paragraphs that show this shepherd is on target about the proper nature of marriage. (You would think that was a given for a Catholic bishop, but we've seen too often that one can't take it for granted):
Throughout history, human beings in virtually every society have recognized that, to make a marriage, one needs a man and a woman. What is more, it has long been acknowledged that marriage is not just about the happiness of adults but concerns the well-being of society -- that is, the common good. Marriage exists in civil law primarily in order to provide communal support for bringing mothers and fathers together to care for their children. Same-sex unions cannot serve this public purpose....
Marriage is the way a man and woman bind their love into a lifelong commitment that is mutual, exclusive, and open to new life -- where they promise not only to love each other, but to love any children whom they create together. With that vow, the die is cast and the adventure of receiving and raising the next generation has begun.
The archbishop also takes a swipe at the disaster of no-fault divorce which has "liberated" so many single family households led by women into poverty:

Back in the early 1970s, the experts told us that no-fault divorce would liberate women from bad marriages without affecting anyone else. We now know that as many as one-third of women fall into poverty with their children as a result of divorce. Social science caught up late with the common-sense wisdom that children need a mom and a dad working together to protect them.

In other words, changing the law of marriage to enshrine no-fault divorce had unintended consequences that few predicted. Same-sex marriage represents an even greater challenge.
Congratulations to Archbishop Nienstedt for taking on this politically incorrect view of marriage. Let
us hope the people of Minnesota are listening. And pray for the archbishop who is under attack by the gay cabal.
