The Importance of Women

Remember that old saying, "The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world?" It's absolutely true. One of the reasons we are sinking as a culture is because women have forgotten their natures as "custodians of life." Too many have accepted the Planned Parenthood/radical feminist lie that their nature is as sexpots "liberated" from fertility. Instead of being the natural custodians of life, they have been convinced to be custodians of the condoms. A woman can be a mother or have a career, but always be true to her nature as the custodian of physical and spiritual life.

George Gilder in his book, Sexual Suicide called women the civilizers of men. To the degree that women  return to their nature we will see a transformation of our culture from a culture of death to a culture of life.

I hope I live to see it.

This is the "religion of peace?"

The recent attempted "honor killing" of 21-year-old Harry Potter actress Afshan Azad by her father and brother illustrates the violence of the so-called "religion of peace." When fathers can murder their daughters over a row about a boy friend and the religion they espouse approves it....what more is there to say?

Most of the victims of "honor killings" are women and most of the murderers are men, often fathers and brothers. (See here.... ) There is no religious sanction against the perpetrators in the Muslim faith. Islam  treats women as chattel and all sins of lust are their fault. Men can have multiple "wives" and keep them like a harem while they collect welfare as "unwed moms". A woman doesn't even have to commit sin to be killed. Read this horrifying story about a fifth grader who "committed suicide" by shooting herself three times in the head (Yeah, right!) after being handed a note by a boy saying, "I love you."

Christianity is under assault today, but the fact is that it was Christ who raised the status and dignity of women. All women in Christianity are invited to imitate Mary, the new Eve. Even the fallen woman is not condemned under the New Covenant. As Jesus said to the woman taken in adultery (Where was the man?) "Neither do I condemn you. Go your way and henceforth avoid this sin." Christianity calls to conversion and goes in search of the lost sheep, not to slaughter it, but to return it to the fold.

Today is the feast of St. Maria Goretti, the little saint of purity who died rather than agree to engage in sex with her assailant. She was stabbed multiple times and suffered greatly before her death the next day. But her sacrifice led to the repentance and conversion of her attacker who was present at her canonization.

Bad News for Planned Parenthood

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has cleared the way for a case allegeing massive fraud against Planned Parenthood (PP). The American Center for Law and Justice who argued the case call it a "huge victory." A lower court dismissed the case saying the "whistleblower" who reported the fraudulent billing practices had no standing. With the 9th Circuit decision, the case against PP can proceed. Is anyone really surprised that those who systematically kill babies for a living would engage in fraud? It's a no brainer. Once you are willing to kill, lying and cheating look almost virtuous by comparison. After all, they are "helping women" and the more money they have to do it, the better.

March of the Survivors

All the polls show that young people are more pro-life than adults. This offers great hope for the future as these youngsters become voters and decision makers. Share the pro-life message with a young person today. As one of the speakers says, "The pro-life movement is getting younger and younger." Praise be to God! The energy and zeal of these youngsters fills me with hope.

Pray today for all those who offered their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor for our country. May we continue to dedicate ourselves to making this "one country UNDER GOD with liberty and justice for all" especially the most vulnerable.

Cardinal Sodano and the Maciel Scandals

I just posted on the Fr. Haley blog about Cardinal Sodano. We are living in times that appear to be rivaling the leadup to the Protestant Revolt. The corruption at the highest levels of the Church is disheartening. Don't let it damage your faith. If you do, that will be spiritual suicide.

Spend more time before the Blessed Sacrament praying for priests, especially those at upper levels in the Church. Many of them have a lot for which to answer.

Just Say No to the Mosque at Ground Zero in New York

Pat Condell makes a lot of sense and points out the danger of politicians enabling Islamic violence. He also points out that the name Cordoba, which is that selected for the planned mosque, comes from the large mosque built by Muslims as they began the mass conquest of Spain. Islam has always built mosques on conquered ground. It is a "permanent affront" to all Americans. Selecting this spot is very deliberate as is the plan to open the mosque on the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

"Public opinion can put an end to this disgraceful plan."

Let them build their offensive mosque somewhere else, Condell says,  -- like the Arizona desert or Death Valley. Amen to that!

"To save a single life: It is as if you saved the whole world"

For years I counseled on the sidewalk outside abortion mills. Sometimes women (and their boyfriends) hell bent on abortion changed their minds. I am blessed to have photos of babies saved. My fellow counselors and rosary supporters and I attended baptisms, held baby showers, and rejoiced at the little ones whose moms chose life. So when I read Leave this place now. Go home and hug your baby. this morning it brought back a lot of memories.

I don't live near an abortion mill since I moved to the Shenandoah Valley, so I don't go often now, but I can still spiritually rescue babies through prayer and sacrifice. If you live near a killing center, don't ignore it. Some babies have been saved because someone was there with a sign. Go to the foot of the cross where Jesus is being killed in his precious babies. You'll only know its value when you stand before the judgment seat of God.

Hollywood Light Crew Working for Jimmy Kimmel Uses High Intensity Spotlights to Burn Teen

On June 25th officers from the LAPD ignored the assault by a light crew working for comedian Jimmy Kimmel, who turned high intensity spotlights on a young protestor. Ryan Bueler, a member of the survivors (those born after Roe v. Wade), was participating in the annual Survivors' Boot Camp which was carrying out a Face the Truth type demonstration on a busy street near Kimmel's studio. Kimmel's crew set up to film a stunt taking place later, but apparently got upset with the young demonstrator who refused to move and turned the lights on him from a distance of several feet. The heat from the spotlight partially melted his sign and a plastic bracelet he was wearing. When an adult participant, Jeff White, attempted to turn the lights away from the teenager, he was attacked and his shirt ripped. LAPD responding to the event arrested White but refused to take any action against the camera crew or the man who ripped White's clothing. After police viewed the video they dropped charges against White but still refused to bring any against the cameral crew.

Well, what else is new? I've seen videos showing the LAPD using nunchucks against peaceful rescuers, even breaking their bones. Christians protesting abortion are fair game these days for the modern day Roman tyrants and their legions.

These days assaults against pro-life citizens is politically correct and police often ignore it. Instead they arrest pro-lifers for exercising their free speech rights or defending themselves against assault.

If Obama has his way, free speech will be eliminated for those who oppose his agenda including the murder of the innocent and the abomination of same sex perversions. He's been after free speech since his pre-election days. And there's plenty more to come if he gets his way including federal takeover of the internet. After all, he's got the mainstream media in his pocket and the only thing that prevents him from having total control is conservative radio, FOX, and the alternative media.

Police Use Nunchucks On Pro-Lifers This video shows the police using nunchucks on peaceful pro-life demonstrators. Before I saw this video I did not know that nunchucks were illegal in some states. That did not keep the cops from using them to break a guys arm though.

Who at the Vatican knew what when?

Tom Bethell has a terrific article in the June issue of The American Spectator which I posted on the Fr. Haley blog. It contains some shocking information about Vatican officials being bribed by the Legionairies of Christ and raises the question of how much Pope John Paul II knew about and enabled the sex abuse coverup. In view of the terrible episcopal appointments Pope John Paul made, the revelations are believable. I hope this slows down his fast track to canonization. Why the rush anyway? Pope John Paul II was a charismatic figure and he certainly suffered courageously, especially in the end, but a little historical perspective wouldn't hurt.

Let's see Pope Pius XII's cause move forward. That much maligned man stands as a floodlight in those dark days of the 20th century when all Europe was swallowed up by the black spider of the Third Reich.
