The HHS mandate that all insurance policies include coverage for free access to contraception,  abortion and sterilization has triggered a strong response from the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. Sad to say, though, in their response to this mandate, most bishops have become so fixated on the religious liberty issues raised by this mandate, that they have overlooked a more insidious dimension of what the mandate is doing.

Ambassador and Others Killed and Obama? He Does Las Vegas!

Do we have a president? What an insult to the families whose loved ones were brutally murdered yesterday. The Middle East is a cauldron bubbling over and ready to explode and all Obama can think of us is fundraising. I'm not sure we can avoid World War III at this point no matter who is elected, but we are obviously seriously endangered with the architect of the "Arab Spring" being an empty chair in the oval office.

Pat Buchanan saw where things were going a year ago and he is turning out to be prophetically right. We'd all better be on our knees praying for peace. In the Old Testament God allowed evil tyrants to attack Israel in chastisement for her sins. The sins of America make ancient Israel look pious! And doesn't it say something that the attacks on the embassies occurred on 9/11? Wake up, America. Return to God.

And now it seems that Libyan security forces betrayed the location of the ambassador to the mob. The Libyan government has issued an apology for the killings, but where were the troops to protect the diplomatic staff and embassy workers?

Attacks are "ACTS OF WAR"

Our embassies in Egypt and Libya should be closed immediately. Obviously, the safety of Americans cannot be assured. And we should immediately expel the embassies of both countries. But don't expect any firm action from the campaigner in chief. He has a full schedule of fundraising dinners to think about. Nixon's foreign policy adviser, Bruce Herschensohn called it an "act of war."

...and the administration apologizes to the radical Islamists! Granted, the apology came before the attacks, but so what? People criticize the Catholic Church in this country all the time. Do Catholics react by storming buildings and murdering people? Look at the blasphemous play Corpus Christi: Playing with Redemption touring the country. It portrays Christ as a homosexual. Do the performers fear for their lives from protesting Christians? These attacks demonstrate once again the reality that Islam will use any provocation to attack us and kill innocent people. Someone dares to criticize Mohammed, prepare for retaliation against anyone and everyone in the West.

What kind of idiots are running the country to apologize to these thugs? Remember, Obama supported Libya last year.  Like most Muslim countries we assist, they become more anti-Christian and anti-American. I suspect they laugh up their sleeves at our weakness. Meanwhile, we are infiltrated from within with terrorists actually training here. Watch for the president to bow and scrape to more countries that hate us. Hey, we are a bunch of colonialists who deserve everything we get from the 99 percent of the world.

Planned Parenthood Kills Women

The autopsy report cited facts which point to Planned Parenthood's negligence which resulted in this woman's death. They perforated her uterus and ignored symptoms of problems for about five hours before she was transferred to the hospital. And tell me again why taxpayers are forced to finance this killing operation? It's not just about murdering "unwanted" unborn babies; they kill moms as well. Stop Planned Parenthood! And please pray for the repose of the soul of Tonya Reaves, a single mom of a one-year-old son, left motherless thanks to Planned Parenthood, the largest killing industry in the world. The Sign of Hope at Ground Zero

No matter how dark the hour, Jesus is always present. The cross was the sign of hope for the Israelites in the desert who were bitten by the serpents. It was the sign of hope for the early Christians. It is the sign Catholics make with holy water as they enter a church. It was the sign of hope left at ground zero on September 11, 2001.

The evil one wants us to "despair and die." But Christ wants us to repent and live. Let's pray today for the courage to persevere with hope and determination. Life has always involved battling evil. I saw For Greater Glory last night depicting the devastating persecution and attack on the Church in Mexico during the 1920s under President Plutarco Calles. The struggle of the Cristeros was the same battle against godless politicians that fills our history books: England after Henry VIII with the underground Church in hiding, the uprising of the Catholics in the Vendée during the French revolution, the persecutions in Russia, Japan, China and now in Muslim countries aided and abetted by the U.S. government. And yet we hope...not in politicians...but in Christ the king.
