Good News and Hope! Let's Take Back Our Country!
The midterms are coming and this pro-life woman is running to be a senator from Pennslvania. Barnette is a conservative, a home schooling mom. She was also conceived in rape and understands the value of all human life. Think about the pro-abortion EMILY's list (Early Money Is Like Yeast.) Early prayers are even more so. Let's start praying for Kathy Barnette and support her campaign. It's time to take back our country from the godless liberals who hate us, who consider us "deplorables," who want to instill their evil ideas in our children. Visit Barnette's website. I'm sending a donation, a Mass, and a letter of support. May God bless her as she fights for her family and ours. Visit her site.

Well FINALLY! A Catholic Diocese Sues the State Over Wuhan Tyranny. As for the pope's new doc....
Diocese of Brooklyn sues New York over new Mass restrictions
Well... it's about time. Catholics cold be forgiven for thinking our bishops just plain don't care if we never have a live Mass again. Some dioceses shut down before governor Mass wreckers went to work dismantling the constitutional protection of religion. It was the Protestants and Jews (and a few SSPX priests) standing up for religious rights. Let's hope lawsuits against the state tyrants proliferate!

Should We Defend Ourselves against Defamation and Slander?
![]() |
| Dr. Hitchcock, take note! Slander is a serious sin against the 8th Commandment that requires repair. |
The post following this introduction is an email I received from friend and Wanderer journalist Dexter Duggan. Dexter wrote to me responding to yesterday's Sunday meditation on slander and righteous anger. He's experienced slander first hand from a Catholic historian who, by all common sense standards, should be an ally. Some readers may recall my posts relating the story of Dexter's abuse by Dr. James Hitchcock in his book, Abortion, Religious Freedom, and Catholic Politics. (See here and here.)
Indeed, Dexter knows what it is to be falsely accused, slandered, and vilified. He knows what it is to have your reputation continuously damaged by falsehoods published in a book used on Catholic college campuses across the country. He knows what it is to be defamed over and over on EWTN and in Catholic interview shows promoting the slanderous book. Hitchcock's refusal to correct the mistakes and defamation reflects more on him than on Dexter. And what it says about him is anything but complimentary to a man professing to be a faithful Catholic.
What possessed Dr. Hitchcock to attack Dexter and The Wanderer in the first place is beyond me. That he refuses to correct his errors and apologize for the slander certainly doesn't demonstrate a humble Catholic mind and heart (that the Lord "will not spurn"). It shows a pride and arrogance that is rather frightening to see in an aged man on the cusp of eternity.

An Interview with Dexter Duggan on the "Family Feud" with James Hitchcock
| Read the latest Catholic news! |
Huh?
The Wanderer is one of the most consistent champions of babies in the womb and those who defend them in the Catholic media. The newspaper also publishes some of the best commentary on Catholic teaching about the entire range of pro-life issues: abortion, euthanasia, homosexual activism and same-sex "marriage", assisted suicide, reproductive technology, etc. How could a Catholic historian get things so wrong?

Hasn't the U.S. Government Persecuted the Indians Enough!
Read the story here.
This is total lunacy. Think of what the feds do:
- give weapons to Mexican drug cartels that are used to kill border agents
- use drones to kill American citizens without due process
- sell weapons to terrorists and rogue governments
- assassinate heads of state
But a tribe of American Indians can't use eagle feathers in their religious ceremony without facing federal prosecution? Lunacy is a mild word for it. Maybe tyranny is a better one.
Thank God the Becket Fund defended these folks. Perhaps a donation is in order. Consider it part of your Lenten almsgiving to protect the religious rights of a persecuted minority.

The Reason Why Democracy Works!
What will happen to our democracy when faith dies in the United States? What will you do to keep that from happening? Said your rosary today? (Hat tip to Linden for sending me this.)

The Five Stages of Religious Persecution
Msgr. Charles Pope has written an article about the five stages of religious persecution. It's a sobering perspective, especially when you consider that the stages coincide in many respects with Alinsky's strategy in Rules for Radicals to gain power for community organizers and Kirk and Madsen's strategy in After the Ball to advance the homosexual agenda. Here are Msgr. Pope's five stages:
Step 1: Stereotype the targeted group
Step 2: Vilify the targeted group for alleged crimes or misconduct
Step 3: Marginalize the targeted group's role in society
Step 4: Criminalize the targeted group or its works
Step 5: Persecute the targeted group outright
These steps fit nicely with Alinsky's strategy for attacking particular groups. "Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it." Since Alinsky also preaches that the "end justifies the means" and portrays the organizer's goal as a "war,"

The See of San Francisco....aka Sodomy by the Sea
Pray for Bishop Cordileone as he takes over this haven of perversion. He will need the spirit of a martyr. May all the saints and angels surround him and may the flock cover him in prayer.
