Real LIfe Sidewalk Counselors Save Babies from Death and their Moms from a Lifetime of Regret!

The real Marilisa from Unplanned on the right.
Meat the Real-Life Marilisa from Unplanned

This is a great interview and as a sidewalk counselor myself I found it compelling. I spent many Saturdays for about 15 years sidewalk counseling at an abortion mill next to Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria. Before that it was Wednesdays at the Falls Church abortion mill where I stood on a stepladder talking to women over the fence between St. James and the facility.

Everything in Unplanned is absolutely on target about sidewalk counseling and pro-life witness.

40 Days for Life is Coming! Will You Be Part of the Solution to Abortion?

This email from 40 Days of Life is so inspiring I have to share it. Read it and praise God for the sidewalk heroes who save lives:

Witnessing for Life and Fighting D.C.'s Future Planned Parenthood Killing Center

Sad to say, the future Planned Parenthood facility in D.C. where this photo was taken and Father gave is talk is being built by a Catholic owned construction company. My friend Janet blogged about it last August. This friends, is true direct cooperation with evil. Every murder that takes place at this abortion mill will be stamped with the name of Robert Pizzano and Pizzano Construction Company. God have mercy when this man stands for the judgment seat of God. He is not helping to build the Kingdom of God, but the Kingdom of Satan. Please pray for him and all the wonderful witnesses below who participated a few days ago in the vigil. Our Lady of Victory, strengthen all who fight the deadly legions. St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle....

Speech at the 40 Days for Life Candlelight Vigil
at the Planned Parenthood Construction Site at 1225 – 4th Street, NE, Washington, DC
by Fr William J Kuchinsky,
3 October 2015.

There is something that did not go unnoticed by those out here witnessing to the dignity of human life the past couple of months.  As we stood on the sidewalks, or knelt in prayer as participants in civil disobedience, we heard the laughter and playful screams of the children of Two Rivers School as they were out for recess . . . This is, of course, in contrast the silent screams and unspeakable horror that is planned for right next door.

It has also been noted that the address of this coming killing center is 1225 – 4th Street.  Yes, the date we celebrate the Birth of Our Blessed Lord.  December 25th.  May He have mercy on us.

Record 87 Abortion Mills Closed in 2013

Death Throes of the Death Industry: A Record 87 Surgical Abortion Clinics Close in 2013
Mark Crutcher of Life Dynamics has always said one of the best ways to end abortion is to limit access. So this is good news indeed. As the Our Father says, "Lead us not into temptation." Many women will not choose abortion if the temptation is not available. Legalization gives a veneer of respectability to an unthinkable horror. So let's make that horror unthinkable in the minds of our neighbors. Raise a new year's toast to these heroic warriors:

God Bless Those Sidewalk Counselors...

...saving babies lives and saving women from a lifetime of heartbreak. God bless you dear ones.

These dedicated folks have saved 316 babies since they began sidewalk counseling in Hagerstown, MD six years ago and the abortuary business is down 50%. Sidewalk counseling works! And abortionists and their minions hate it! Every person who leaves the abortion business testifies to the impact of sidewalk counseling. Even one person praying the rosary quietly means everyone inside is on edge and the abortions take longer. Not to mention the depressing effect of having clients walk out. Every time that happens it emphasizes what a bloody business it is and presses the guilt button. If you've never been out to an abortion mill, join the spring 40 days for life. Your prayers make a difference!

Fr. Hearty has a Heart for the Babies!

Denver priest pulls out the "big guns" at Planned Parenthood - Says Mass across the street from the butcher shop.

Larry and I joined the 40 Days for Life at this Denver abortion mill last fall when we were on our cross country trip. I immediately recognized it in the picture. It's time to take our faith to the streets and stop hiding our light under a bushel basket. The demons of blood lust quake in fear at the mere name of Jesus. What do you think they do when he is physically present? God bless Fr. Joseph Hearty and pray for his protection. Satan will be after him big time!

Prayer, Presence, and Pictures Pressure Abortion Mills to Close

Another abortion mill recently closed due to prayer and presence pressure of 40 Days for Life.

But there are plenty more out there that need our presence. Won't you watch with Mary at the foot of the cross? Abortion mills are where Jesus is being crucified today. How much will God bless those who stand up for his living image in these tiny babies.

Want to help close an abortion mill? Many of you reading this live within 25 miles of a a killing center. Prayer and presence have closed many of these demonic places, especially when they face continuous exposure through pictures at the site. If you live near Germantown, MD you have a great opportunity to protect late term babies from being brutally murdered by Leroy Carhart. Every Monday from 8-10 a.m. prayer warriors and sidewalk counselors turn out to fight the devil on the front lines. Here's what sidewalk counselor Dick Retta says:
We need you! Monday mornings, 8 to 10 AM! At the Germantown abortion mill? LeRoy Carhart continues his late-term child killing carnage at Germantown abortion mill unabated.

We not only need prayer but ACTION -We Need you to help Kick Out Carhart, this monster child killer, by your presence.

He has now added infanticide to his atrocities. One mother seeking an abortion reported that Carhart told her “if the baby is born alive you will not be charged extra.”
Where is the OUTRAGE over these atrocities, over the brutal murder of our children right in front of our eyes, right in the midst of our daily life routines?

WHERE ARE YOU? After attending Mass and receiving Our Lord in Holy Communion could you not stop by the Germantown Mill and stand up for Our Lord, Stand up for our Children! Stand up for all that is good and decent? Stand up against this monster murderer in our midst.

We know that we are having an impact based on meetings with local police and condo board members. The condo owners do not like the truth images that we show of what Carhart does to his children victims. Showing these truth images is what will lead to the closing of the Germantown abortion mill. We must keep up the pressure.

Our numbers have gone down! Why is there so much complacency to this HORROR show? We must have the numbers in order to keep up the pressure.

If you are outraged over seeing these truth images showing Carhart’s brutality to late-term children, be more outraged over the fact that he is actually committing those atrocities while you are merely viewing the images. It was only through the showing of these kinds of images that revolutions such as ending child labor and slavery were brought about. As Father Pavone says ‘Child killing will not end until Americas sees what child-killing is about.’ Without these images we don’t have a case.

WAKE-UP! Take a stand for these children! Come join us! We need to have a HOLY OUTRAGE over this Horror show at Germantown, a modern day Auschwitz!

Please….. come and stand with us on Monday mornings at the Germantown mill. There are NO government task forces to help protect these innocent babies who are killed. There are NO special military troops to defend their lives on the front lines........

WE ARE IT!!!!! Please hear this message....If WE don't fight the brutal murder of these babies --being torn limb from limb, in our own backyard, nobody...NOBODY will!
WILL YOU BE THERE????
I live two hours from Germantown, but plan to go within the next few weeks and join in the prayer crusade there. Driving out the devil requires sacrifice and I think of it as did the crusaders who drove the Turks out of the Holy Land and protected western Europe from being overrun by Islam. When we defend the babies we defend Christ and His Church. Please make the sacrifice to fight abortion on the frontlines.

40 Days for Life: Saving Babies Sometimes Two at a Time!

40 Days for Life is in full swing, praying and saving lives. In Birmingham, AL, the sidewalk warriors reported saving twins. Here's the report from the 40 Days Blog:
“It is a rare time to witness a save during the 40 Days for Life campaign,” wrote Judy in Birmingham, “but I was present for two saves simultaneously! Yes — TWINS!”

Prayer volunteers watched as a young woman, her boyfriend and her grandmother walked into Planned Parenthood. The grandmother seemed downright unfriendly. Judy said “she went inside for a half hour — and came out a totally transformed woman.

What happened during that half hour? “The prayer volunteers on the sidewalk prayed fervently for the woman’s granddaughter,” Judy said, “a very young woman determined to abort her babies. When she came out … she said that she had decided to keep her babies.”

The grandmother, who was standing beside her, said, “Yes, she’s having TWINS!”

“It was indeed a rare and joyful moment,” said Judy. “We all smiled and thanked God for His gift of life — in this case, GIFTS of life.
There's a 40 Days for Life near you. Jesus prayed for 40 days in the wilderness. Won't you join Him at an abortion mill near you for at least one day? Check out the locations at the website.

Thought for the Day: Real Men Don't Kill Babies!

Show me a male chauvinist pig and I'll show you a man who says, "She can always get an abortion." Real men don't kill their children!

Support a pregnancy help center today and plan to participate in Life Chain and 40 Days for Life. Abortion is a crime against humanity. Babies and their moms deserve better.

Think Life Chain and 40 Days for Life

This time of the year sees some important pro-life activities. Forty Days for Life begins September 22nd and goes through October 31st when sidewalk activists in 239 locations throughout the US, Canada, Australia, England, Northern Ireland and Denmark will engage in a concentrated 40 days of prayer and sacrifice while witnessing and sidewalk counselling at local abortion mills. Many locations have a continuous presence around the clock, while others have a modified schedule. The statistics from 40 Days for Life are impressive. Since it began in 2007:
•More than 350,000 have joined together in an historic display of unity to pray and fast for an end to abortion
•More than 11,500 church congregations have participated in the 40 Days for Life campaigns
•Reports document 2,811 lives that have been spared from abortion — and those are just the ones we know about
•35 abortion workers have quit their jobs and walked away from the abortion industry
•Six abortion facilities completely shut down following local 40 Days for Life campaigns
•Hundreds of women and men have been spared from the tragic effects of abortion, including a lifetime of regrets
•More than 850 news stories have been featured in newspapers, magazines, radio shows and TV programs from coast to coast ... and overseas
•Many people with past abortion experiences have stepped forward to begin post-abortion healing and recovery   (Data from the 40 Days for Life website.)
If there's a 40 Days for Life near you, why not plan to spend at least a few hours there during the campaign witnessing to the precious gift of life. Many amazing stories have been shared. Maybe you can be part of one.

Another activity taking place this fall is The Life Chain on October 3 from 2-3:30 p.m. Last year 1600 locations around the country and in Canada participated. In my own community of Woodstock, VA we are involved for the second year. Life Chain is a silent prayer witness. Participants stand quietly praying on the sidewalk holding signs that read Abortion Kills Children, Jesus Heals and Saves, Abortion Hurts Women, etc.  It's a non-confrontational way to influence the local community to confront the devastation of abortion. Think of a woman in a crisis pregnancy looking for a sign from God about her abortion and she drives down a street where hundreds of signs beseech her to choose life. Life Chain has stories to tell as well. One coordinator tells how she was discouraged at the small turnout in her town until a man stopped his car nearby, jumped out and ran over. He pointed to the baby in the car and said she was saved from abortion and thanked her for being there. Join the Life Chain. You will never know until Judgment Day the real value of your small sacrifice of time.

A baby saved: "What you're doing is so worth it!"

Here's a portion of David Bereit's message from 40 Days for Life as the fall campaign nears the halfway point:

Kelly in Southgate, Michigan said it's very rare for the parking lot of the abortion center to be absolutely empty on a Saturday, but that's exactly what happened. The vigil participants were thankful that no abortions were being done, and continued to pray as planned.

But then a young, professionally-dressed woman pulled up on the side street next to the vigil, parked her car and approached quickly. She had her cell phone in hand and started scrolling through the pictures on her phone.

"I was here 10 years ago," she said. "I was going to have an abortion. I mean I was in there and on the table. But because someone like you was out here praying, I just couldn't go through with it."

Then she found the picture she had been searching for. "This is my son." There wasn't a dry eye among the volunteers who were listening to her story.

"I just wanted to say thank you," she said. "What you are doing here is SO worth it!"

Why not spend a few hours at 40 Days for Life. It is So worth it!

Gagging Pro-Lifers: Child Killers Deny Women Any Choice but Abortion!

Choice, choice, choice -- it's the mantra of the child-killing industry. But it's a lie. They want to shut down choice for women considering alternatives to killing their children. "You have no choice," they tell her as they walk her into the abortuary, dress her in a surgical gown, and position her feet in the stirrups. "You have your education, your future, yourself to think about....Don't look at the picture on the sonogram; it's just a blob of tissue....You have no choice."

These "compassionate" killers lie to the woman from the minute they answer the phone to make the appointment to murder her baby. Do they offer alternatives? No! Former abortionists and clinic workers tell of how they use marketing techniques to prey on her fears and pressure her to choose abortion. It's one of the most lucrative industries in the U.S. They sell the abortion, get taxpayer dollars to support it, and some even sell the babies' body parts. "You have no choice!" they tell the woman and work to make that grim prophecy true. Bubble zone legislation has been introduced all over the country, but in Chicago an ordinance was introduced recently that is so draconian even the ACLU is fighting portions of the law. The ordinance restricts pro-lifers from walking within 50 feet of an abortuary entrance and within eight feet of a woman entering it to kill her child.

This clear violation of free speech means that someone could approach a woman and ask for the time, but if the person is pro-life, he can be arrested and fined up to $500.00 for violating the no-free-speech zone. And what if the woman approaches the pro-life counselor? Must she keep backing up to maintain the 8-foot bubble?

David Bereit of 40 Days for Life sent out a message to supporters saying,
The law is such a clear violation of First Amendment Constitutional rights that even the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) -- no friend of the pro-life movement -- sided with local pro-life interests in opposing aspects of the ordinance.

According to observers at the council meetings, a Planned Parenthood representative testified that pro-life vigils make it difficult for women to reach their "services," while a representative from a local late-term abortion facility (that has seen business detrimentally affected by 40 Days for Life) directly
mentioned the 40 Days for Life prayer vigil as reason to pass the ordinance.

This ordinance is all about protecting the child-killing industry which rakes in millions every year, some of which is funnelled to liberal politicians to influence their "pro-choice" votes. Kathleen Sebelius' cozy relationship with notorious late-term abortionist George Tiller included a fund-raiser at the governor's mansion where she was photographed with Tiller and his staff.

Take action against the Chicago no-choice ordinance. Here's how according to Bereit:
PLEASE call Mayor Daley's office immediately at 312-744-3300 to say: "Mayor Daley, please don't restrict freedom of speech in Chicago. VETO the Bubble Zone ordinance!"

So many calls have already been flooding into the mayor's office that they've set up an automated system for the public to speak out on the Bubble Zone. If you get the automated system, here are the steps to follow:

1.) CALL Mayor Daley's office at 312-744-3300

2.) PRESS 1 to submit your opinion on the Bubble Zone ordinance

3.) Then PRESS 2 to vote NO on the Bubble Zone

To send the mayor a fax instead: 312-744-8045

If we don't push back hard against this clearly unconstitutional law, Planned Parenthood and the rest of the abortion industry will feel empowered to
trample on the rights of pro-life free speech all across the country.

Please act now -- while there's still time!

Photos from our Woodstock Life Chain

Life Chain is an entry level event to give people a taste of pro-life activism in a low-key, non-threatening way. Our Life Chain in Woodstock, VA yesterday was the first one here and we had about 175 people participate from three churches. Afterwards we had a get-together in the church hall and you could feel the excitement and energy of the people there. The pro-life prayer and witness engendered lots of honks and thumbs up as people drove through town. The children really enjoyed the honks and waves. What a great way to introduce little ones to their responsibility to witness in society. Several mentioned today that they spoke to others who were sorry they couldn't come. Life Chain is a little thing with great potential. I'm going to post the nearest 40 Days for Life Campaign and invite members of the parish to join in. Prayer and public witness save lives!

40 Days for Life: Saving Babies at a Town Near You!

The 40 Days for Life fall campaign which began just a few days ago has already saved about 40 babies, the first before it even started at a prayer vigil.

This campaign illustrates the tremendous power in prayer and perseverance. When Christians step out in faith and pray, not for their own self-interest, but for the weakest and most vulnerable among us, the Lord blesses their efforts abundantly. Be part of the power -- not your own power, but the power of the Holy Spirit. Last Spring 433 babies were saved during the campaign. That not just 433 babies, but 433 women spared the agony of a lifetime of regret, 433 fathers spared the guilt of failing to protect their children, thousands of grandparents who will hold their grandchildren in their arms, and countless communities touched by pro-life witness. Join 40 Days for Life in a town near you.

Pray, hope, don't worry and take a young person to lunch.

One of my favorite groups working for restoration of Catholic culture is the Cardinal Newman Society. Those who influence the young own the future and CNS's activity on college campuses offers hope that Catholic truth will survive the dark ages we presently face. When my old eyes look out and see young Catholics like Patrick Reilly of CNS, David Bereit of 40 Days for Life, Eric Scheidler continuing the legacy of his heroic father at the Pro-Life Action League, Eduardo Verastegui of Bella fame, and many others I am hopeful for the future. These leaders are just the vanguard of an army of youth, many coming out of the home school movement and others being raised from the very stones (of secularism) as God promised. Don't ever give up hope. Dispel the darkness: light a candle and take a young person to lunch. Listen to their hopes and dreams and share your faith.

Standing in the rain for the Lord

I received this message today from David Bereit, the man behind the 40 Days for Life Campaign. Read it and rejoice - another life saved by prayer and fasting. Check the 40 Days for Life website and see if there's a location near you. You may be God's hands to reach out to a woman considering abortion and her little unborn child.

FROM DAVID BEREIT:

One of the 40 Days for Life prayer vigil participants in Kalamazoo, Michigan tells an amazing story of what God can do with two guys standing in the rain.

On a recent morning, he went to spend time in prayer in front of the abortion facility. When he got there,it was pouring."I decided I would stay in the car and pray and when it lightened up I would get out and stand in frontof the abortion clinic and pray," he said. "After all, I could pray just as well in the car as in front of the clinic."

But then his prayer partner arrived. "I told him to get into the car -- we could pray here."

"No," he said politely. He wanted to pray in front of the clinic.

"I didn't need any more convincing." As they stood there praying in the rain, "we must have been an odd sight! What were we thinking? What good could be accomplished standing in the rain?"

The rain came down even harder as a young couple drove in with a baby in a car seat. One of the men made eye contact with the woman and he knew immediately -- she was there for an abortion.

She went into the clinic, but came out ten minutes later. The two men rushed to her with their umbrellas. She was pregnant, she told them, and the child was not her husband's. It was he who insisted on an abortion."She was a fallen away Christian who had just returned to God," said the volunteer. "We told her that God had never left her and that He was always with her and would always be with her in all of her decisions. She felt pressure from her husband, the abortion staff and the doctor and that's when she asked to go outside to see us. "It turns out the woman had made an appointment with her pastor that morning but something came up and it was canceled. So she kept her appointment for the abortion.

Her pastor was her last chance, she thought, and that had fallen through. Maybe God did not hear her prayer. Now, she said, it was too late."But just as they were turning into the abortion clinic she had seen us," said the volunteer. "Two guys standing in the pouring rain, wet and soaked --praying. She knew we were praying. She couldn't believe it; God had answered her prayer after all! He sent two strangers to stand out in the rain and wait for her!"The men consoled her, told her God loved her and that she was not alone. "We held hands and the three of us prayed the Lord's Prayer." She went back inside, and two minutes later, they all came out and drove away. She waved to the men as they left.

"What a powerful God we have!" said this 40 Days for Life vigil participant. "God had made his love and presence known to all of us that morning. Many lives were touched; a life may have been saved." Meanwhile, it kept raining. College students passed by as they ran to a nearby bus stop. "Some of the students looked at us kind of funny," he said. "After all, we were just two guys standing in the rain."

40 Days for Life -- Putting an end to abortion through prayer and fasting.

This week, in more than 170 cities nationwide, the 40 Days of Life campaign will once again engage thousands of pro-life prayer warriors seeking an end to abortion. Wherever Christians have entered spiritual battle in the abortion wars, miracles have happened. You can read about them in articles posted on the website. Last year's campaign saw many victories. In Richmond a prayer warrior shared her story saying, “The highlight of my day was having a young woman roll down her car window as they drove away from the abortion clinic and say with a smile on her face, 'Thanks for the brochure. We decided not to go through with it.’" In El Paso sixteen babies were saved. Eighty-four mothers chose life in Pensacola, Fl and several post-aborted women sought healing. Stories like this come in from every corner of the nation.

Join a campaign near your town. You can find the locations here. If there is no city near you, commit to prayer and fasting for the 40 days from September 24 until November 2. Give up one thing that will remind you every day to pray: coffee, TV (even if it's only one show you always watch), alcohol, sweets, your choice. Then add something: a daily novena of memorares or Hail Marys, an extra rosary, the chaplet of Divine Mercy. Sign up for the inspiring updates. At the end of the 40 days you'll know that you were part of the solution.

"To save one life is as if you have saved the world."
