The Democrats are not only Godless, They're Crazy!

Can the Democrats really believe that removing God from their platform will win them votes? Good grief, most people in the U.S., regardless of their religion, are people of faith. So how can this help them? Frankly, I think it demonstrates the principle that sin makes you stupid, and there's no doubt at all that the Democratic party officially sanctions grave sins. In fact, their platform champions two of the four sins that cry to heaven for vengeance - sodomy and murder of the innocent. (The other two are oppressing the poor and defrauding the worker of his wages. We can argue about those as well in view of liberal policies that hurt the poor and increase unemployment.)

But, really, I'm shocked by the fact that the Democrats are doing this because obviously they want to win. So why would they risk alienating millions of God-fearing people? Not only that, why would they make celebrating abortion a centerpiece of their convention? CNN polls show that most Americans oppose abortion in most cases - 62% in fact. Twenty-four percent of women want abortion made illegal in ALL circumstances. Even the young oppose abortion. (No surprise because pro-lifers are the ones having babies and their grandchildren are about to reach voting age! Our oldest grandchild turns 18 next year and she's in the vanguard of our pro-life family juggernaut!) Of those between the ages of 18 and 34, 59% want abortion illegal in most situations only excepting the hard cases (rape, incest, and life of the mother) which constitute fewer than 2% of abortions. That means most Americans want to eliminate 98% of the abortions in this country. Someday it will be 100!

So as the country becomes more pro-life, the Democrats become more hardline in making abortion a liberal sacrament. Their lineup of rabid pro-aborts is staggering. Are they nuts? Or do they figure they will win no matter what? Do they know something we don't know? Are the people who say Obama has a strategy to win "at all costs" right?

One thing's for sure -- they've built their idol. Pathetic, isn't it? Pray and work for pro-life candidates. Todd Akin is one. Have you sent him a donation?

Comic Legend Cheers Clint Eastwood Performance at RNC

I think Clint Eastwood's performance at the RNC was hilarious, despite being a little vulgar. The use of an empty chair was brilliant. Let's face it, the oval office has had an empty chair since the man was elected. Between Obama's non-stop campaigning and fund-raising and his busy vacation schedule, he's hardly spent any time in the oval office working for the people. Nevertheless, he's been very successful at undermining the country 1) by his use of executive orders to usurp the legislative role of Congress and 2) his appointment of "czars" to cabinet level positions usurping the role of the Senate's constitutional right to advise and consent. I have no doubt that this president has committed more impeachable offenses than any president in history. But politicians are skittish to criticize the first black president because the media instantly labels them as racists. The use of the empty chair could also be seen as addressing a man in the dock. He's been tried and found wanting as Eastwood made so perfectly clear. When a man isn't doing the job, it's time to "let him go."

The liberal pundits went into overdrive to label Eastwood's unscripted comedy routine "weird" and paint him as suffering from "dementia." But a comic legend saw his act a little differently and I thought his remarks were interesting and on target. Eastwood sounded as "demented" as George Burns with the same sense of perfect timing. And that is what comedy is all about. Here's a snippet of what Jackie Mason said and you can listen to the rest on the youtube audio below:

“Clint Eastwood was trying to do one thing. He was trying to do a comedy routine and it was a brilliantly conceiv[ed] comedy routine. And he purposely put on an act of being a little frazzled, of being a little old, to make it sound like he wasn’t being intentionally abusive or directly attacking anybody.”
Mason said that Eastwood intentionally tried to convey the “meanderings of an older person who happens to be saying these things.”
“And this was so artfully, perfectly conceived,” Mason added. “[Eastwood] hit the nail exactly on the head and he made a total idiot out of Barack Obama.”

How Many Voters Think?

I was out to breakfast this morning with my brother and sister-in-law. We were talking about the sorry state of the country and the fact that so many people seem to be clueless about our nation's past and the devastating impact of liberalism. Lyndon Johnson's war on poverty through the Great Society policies of the 60s, for example, was never about eliminating poverty. It was all about increasing dependency on government to secure votes for Johnson by handing out goodies. And it was incredibly successful... at creating dependence and increasing poverty. Johnson's welfare policies destroyed the black family by driving men out of the home and setting up teenage mothers in households with a Big Government Daddy. And Johnson knew that's what would happen because adviser Pat Moynihan told him so! Let's hope enough voters have the common sense to realize that liberals want to keep them on the liberal plantation, either as welfare slaves or wage slaves.

I Just Love Those Soldiers of Christ

The public schools today will hyperventilate if students dare to wear t-shirts with a pro-life or Bible quote. They'll make students remove shirts or turn them inside out. Teachers censor kindergarten drawings if little ones dare to depict Jesus. Want to sing a song at the school talent show that has "too much Jesus" in it? Forget it! But post the quote of a secular humanist that makes man his own god, and it passes muster without a comment.

Ralph Waldo Emerson was one of the earliest proselytizers of secular humanism (defined as a religion by the Supreme Court) and a founder of the philosophical beliefs of transcendentalism. He was essentially a pantheist who saw all of nature as part of God. He summarized transcendentalism saying, “From the earth, as a shore, I look out into that silent sea. I seem to partake its rapid transformations: the active enchantment reaches my dust, and I dilate and conspire with the morning wind.” So for Emerson the sea, the wind, the dust, and I are all one and all "sacred" ultimately determined by my own "[sacred] mind." But should a public school that bans quotes from Jesus and the saints not practice the same restraint with new age "saints." The reader who shared this letter and photo thinks so. Do you agree?

Dear Principal Johnson,

Driving past Chantilly High School recently, I was deeply shocked and offended by what I read on the marquee.

The word “sacred” is a religious term for that which is holy, or associated with the divine.
1. devoted or dedicated to a deity or to some religious purpose; consecrated.
2. entitled to veneration or religious respect by association with divinity or divine things; holy.
3. pertaining to or connected with religion (opposed to secular or profane): sacred music; sacred books.

Believe it or not, there are some “extremists” out there who believe that God alone is holy, that that which is sacred is “set apart” (Latin: sanctum) and consecrated to Him.

I humbly count myself among them.

It is entirely inappropriate for a government-run public school to take a prominent public position proclaiming that only you are holy or sacred, in the “integrity” of your mind. That is a direct assault on those who hold other religious views, and openly disparages their views. Given the religious nature of Emerson’s “transcendentalism”, it is in fact advocating an “establishment of religion”, prohibited by the Constitution.

It flagrantly violates Fairfax County School Board Policy 1460.2:

Fairfax County Public Schools, as an agency of the government, shall be neutral with respect to religious beliefs and also shall not engage in any activity that either disparages or advocates religion.

The only potential counterarguments are (1) it doesn’t mean it, (2) we don’t mean it, or (3) we didn’t do it: 

1. “Sacred” is meant in a secular context. The structure of the statement clearly is framed to exclude any other meaning: Nothing else is sacred.

2. We don’t necessarily agree with the statement; we are just citing it. Then try in the coming weeks posting declarations from the Bible (“I AM the Lord thy God. Thou shall have no other gods before Me”) or the Koran (“rocks and trees will say: ‘O Muslim, O slave of Allah! There is a Jew behind me, come and kill him!”), and how far do you expect the “not necessarily the views of the school system” argument would go.

3. The students put it there. If the students posted either of the above quotes, that wouldn’t relieve the school from responsibility for the posting.

I demand that this offensive marquee statement be removed, and an apology issued to the community for this blatant attempt at government brainwashing with a new age humanist religion.

Dear Charlotte pro-lifers: 

Thank you to all who came out for the Friday night prayer vigil in front of Time Warner Cable (TWC) arena and the Saturday prayer vigil at planned parenthood! All will attest, we are sure, that they were powerful, emotional and filled with the Holy Spirit! See below for some articles that give some pictures.

There were a group of 8 - 10 pro-abort hecklers, which the articles describe. They were quite loud on Friday night, trying to drown out our prayers, etc. On Saturday, the same group came to pp, this time standing away from us down the street, being quiet for the most part, holding their signs facing traffic (but read about the flower incident with them below).

The 3300 flowers, representing the number of babies aborted everyday in America, turned out to play major roles in both events, being laid in long rows on the sidewalk in front of TWC arena on Friday night, and then on the grass next to Albemarle Rd., in front of pp on Saturday morning. It was very stirring to have them there. Little story: one young man,on Friday night, who had been at the bus terminal across the street, came over to one of us and asked if he could take a flower to give to his girlfriend to thank her for choosing life for his son, who is due to be born in six weeks. She had wanted to abort him. He did not. She eventually chose life. Praise God! On Saturday, at the end of the vigil, we decided to leave the flowers in front of pp. A policewoman said it was ok, as flowers are not considered to be trash. When just a handful of our group was still there, the pro-aborts started kicking the flowers into the busy Albemarle traffic. Our group quickly picked up all of the remaining flowers, while telling them that they are not going to allow them to defile the flowers that way. The flowers were taken to their final resting place at Gaston Memorial Cemetery. The flowers had had quite an adventure and hopefully played a role in changing at least some hearts to the culture of life.

A few excerpts from the article about the man who joked about murdering Todd Akin:

According to a Businessweek reporter’s account of that meeting, Rove made the following remark: “We should sink Todd Akin. If he’s found mysteriously murdered, don’t look for my whereabouts!”

Rove later apologized to Akin, who, unlike Rove, quickly accepted his regrets.
What Rove said behind closed doors is far more disgraceful than anything Akin, a gentleman, ever thought of saying. But an apology is hardly enough to erase a remark like that. So it’s time for Rove to take his own advice to Akin and get out of the way so he doesn’t become a distraction in this race. 

As the grand dame of the conservative movement, Phyllis Schlafly, said: “Karl Rove has made himself toxic to Republicans by his incredibly offensive and dangerous statement suggesting the murder of Congressman Todd Akin of Missouri. Any candidate or network who hires Rove will now be tarnished with this most malicious remark ever made in Republican politics. … Rove has been calling on Todd Akin to resign, but the one who should resign because he made an embarrassing, malicious and downright stupid remark is Karl Rove.”...

Rove instantly went ballistic over Akin’s unfortunate but innocent phraseology. That’s because he never liked Akin and never supported him. He bet on a primary candidate who lost to Akin, who was not the country club Republican choice to take on McCaskill.

Karl Rove is a neo-con bully with a vision of the American empire. His nastiness toward grassroots conservatives is well known.  He's a Rockefeller, country club Republican whose time is past. Pat Buchanan pegged him and other Republicans like him when he quoted Whittaker Chambers saying,  "the great failing of American conservatives is they do not retrieve their wounded." Men like Karl Rove like to kick them when they're down. It's time for Rove to receive some of his own treatment. Give him the boot, show him the door, take away his mike. He has nothing to say that's worth listening to!
