Big Catholic Families: What a Gift to the Church and the World!

How one family is sending 13 kids to college, living debt free — and still plans to retire early

The Fatzingers could be the poster family for Dave Ramsey, the finance radio guru who always encourages his listeners to live debt free. And, in fact, maybe he could learn a tip or two from their approach to living well with less.

I've always thought of myself as thrifty, but my strategies can't hold a candle to this family. What a revolution if more people would follow their example by both welcoming children as a blessing from the Lord and giving them the lesson of hard work, saving, and money management as well as having fun while living the faith.

Are You as Sick as I am Hearing that Conservatives Don't Care about the Poor?

Mayor Richard Berry
What we care about is offering people help that respects their dignity and worth and helps them achieve a healthy independence. God bless Mayor Berry!

This Republican mayor has an incredibly simple idea to help the homeless. And it seems to be working.

How many homeless people do you think Hillary Clinton has ever talked to?

Open Concept: What Everybody Wants or So They Think

Growing up I lived in several simple wood frame houses. My mother enjoyed flipping houses before there was such a thing. Usually it was to get the family out of debt. The rooms in these houses were small, bedrooms had barely enough space to get around the bed, closets were so small they could be mistaken for phone booths. Most of them had no formal dining room, none had more than three bedrooms. Yet we managed and I don't ever remember my parents suggesting that we would be even the least bit happier if we only had more space.

The same sort of houses were built in Levittown, NY after WWII in the late 1940's and early 1950's, designed to be affordable with the potential of being expanded over time as the family grew and money permitted.

Boys Will Be Boys (And Girls Will Be Girls)

My husband just came back from an outing with three of our grandchildren to the parish thrift store which has all kinds of appealing treasures. He gave them carte blanche  and sent them abroad among the toys to make their choices. He made no attempt to steer them to traditional toys associated with a particular sex.

Surprise! The two little girls (eight and five) came out with gorgeous china dolls. They love Ann of Green Gables and promptly christened their dolls Ann and Diana. The two year old headed straight for the trucks and came home with a great dump truck with lots of room for hauling stuff. I can hear them all now playing in the family room very excited about their new toys.

Democrats Really are Sickos as They Rejoice over Scalia's Sudden Death

I don't wish anyone ill...except for conservatives on the
Supreme Court. Let's hope they all die! Yuck, yuck.
Celebrating Scalia's death with the audience clapping and laughing shows just how sick and cynical the democrats are. This audio also gives anyone who cares about the Supreme Court and its impact on demolishing the America we know one more reason to vote for Donald Trump. Keep in mind that Ted Strickland is from Ohio (a former governor), the state where Obama got over 100% in some precincts and 99% of the vote in 100 precincts in one country. Ohio was an important swing state in 2012 and the Democrats sure weren't taking any chances. Does anybody think these thugs won't go for a repeat this fall?

Female Cardinals a Possibility? It's the Deja Vu Show!

Hmm...female cardinals...let me give that some thought.

He says women can't be ordained, but they can be cardinals to help elect a future pope:
If the pope wishes it, he can transfer these functions also to future deaconesses. The Church’s Law would have to be changed by the pope accordingly. Dogmatically, this is permitted.

Inspiring Olympic Story: Simone Biles

Abandoned by her parents, adopted by her Catholic grandparents -- She's the best gymnast in the world. Faith and Family undergird Simone's success. Celebrate grandparents!

Random Thoughts and Questions on the Pope and the Vatican...

...with links.

1. Is the pope so clueless he really believes Islam is not a religion of submission that justifies murdering and enslaving its enemies?  (See The Church and Islam) Kirkpatrick writes:
The Church’s handling of the numerous cases of [what Pope Francis calls] “Islamic abuse” has the potential for causing a greater scandal [than the sex abuse scandal]. The similarities are striking. Once again we have Church leaders who deny that there is any serious problem.

Is Hillary Physically Fit to Be President?

Can anyone really see this sick woman as president? Matt Drudge posted the photo at the left on his website earlier this week. The incident took place six months ago which had the mainstream media trumpeting it was old news as though it was a manipulation.
