Sunday Meditation: St. John Bosco, Our Parish Patron Saint

St. John Bosco: 1815-1888
Among modern saints (anyone recent enough to leave a legacy in photographs), St. John Bosco must be counted as one of the most fascinating. Even as a young boy his evangelical zeal set him apart from his peers. And yet he was all boy with a talent for running races, tightrope walking, and engaging in gymnastic stunts. He juggled and told stories and used all his talents to attract an audience of youngsters whom he taught the catechism. Like a magnet, he drew young people to him and carried a special love for them in his heart and a zeal for their salvation that carried over into his priesthood.

Italy at that time was suffering from internal struggles and many poor young boys were coming to the cities where they lived on the streets and often got into trouble. Don Bosco set about solving the problem by opening an oratory, a combination home, church, academic and trade school. He concerned himself about both their bodies and their souls and his mother soon moved in to help with the cooking and organization.

#Rein in the Feds: What Is Really Happening in the West?

It's an assault on the Constitution!

LaVoy Finicum is dead because the tyrannical feds will crush anyone who threatens their power. It will be instructive to watch the draconian treatment of the other arrested protesters who are now in custody and being held without bail. The next step? Crush them in the court system using legislation drafted for terrorists.

So Who Are You Rooting for in Iowa this Week?

Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us.
The primary/caucus season is upon us with the first event in Iowa only a few days away followed a week later by New Hampshire.  This may be the most important election we've ever faced as a nation. It's clear we are self-destructing. If things aren't turned around, the country founded under God on the principle that "all men...are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights" may completely disappear. It's already well on the way. Of course, no man is our savior except Jesus Christ, but a godly man after the heart of God can be a leader who fosters and encourages reform.

There is something else about this election that is unique. The man who steps into the oval office after his inauguration will be serving his first year during the 100th anniversary year of the apparitions of Our Lady at Fatima, Portugal. She promised to protect that country and preserve the faith there forever.

#WhiteLivesMatter: Did the FBI Murder LaVoy Finicum?

LaVoy Finicum talking to media
Except for a very few exceptions (the District of Columbia being one), the Federal Government has no right to occupy land throughout the U.S. so how come the feds "own" such a huge chunk of the west? That's basically what the standoff in Oregon was about that led to what may
be the cold blooded murder of LaVoy Finicum by FBI agents.

Watch the video of the chase and arrest below. Did LaVoy Finicum reach for a gun? He clearly has his hands up in the FBI video when he exited the car.

It's not Just LGBTQI Whatever Anymore. Add PGDLW, etc. to the List...

...as in "I'm a penguin, giraffe, dog, leopard, wolf, or whatever." Get used to it!

I'd like to think that this kid is a James O'Keefe pushing the limits of the insanity of the culture. (For those unfamiliar with O'Keefe's antics, he demanded the food service at Rutgers ban Lucky Charms from the dining hall as insulting to Irish students.

Corruption in Texas? Were Felony Charges against Deleiden and Merritt a Foregone Conclusion?

UPDATE: January 28th -- Anderson received $25,000 in campaign donations from Chip Lewis who defended late-term abortionist Douglas Karpen in an earlier abortion case. The Grand Jury failed to indict Karpen despite copious evidence that he killed late-term babies born alive. Was the Grand Jury given access to all the evidence? Anderson looks more and more like she's paying back her pro-abortion supporters for services rendered to her campaign. How many politicians out there are bought and paid for?

Houston Prosecutor has Angered Pro-Lifers Before

Was a whitewash of Planned Parenthood in the plans from the start? Note this from the article:
"Planned Parenthood attorney Josh Schaffer said a prosecutor told him the grand jury never even voted on possible criminal charges against the nation's largest abortion provider."
Now, how do you indict with a felony two people who PRETEND to engage in the illegal activity of buying baby body parts, and not even vote on the whether criminal charges should be brought against the undisputed sellers who are on video haggling to get the biggest and best prices for hearts, livers, intestines, etc.?

PP's mega-abortion mill killing center in Houston
Note also the info about the lawyer defending abortionist Douglas Karpen in a previous case being a political donor to the DA, Devon Anderson. There is a foul stench associated with this case and readers would do well to remember also that the biggest abortion mill in the United States is in Houston. How much money is being poured into the coffers of judges, prosecutors, and other government officials by the abortion industry in Houston to suppress investigations of abortion and grease the skids for the killers?  Is it just a coincidence that the Houston Planned Parenthood building is shaped like a cash register?

Celine Dion and family
1) Planned Parenthood would have happily aborted Celine Dion, the 14th child in her family. Good thing her mom went to see a priest instead of the local PP affiliate.

How abortion played a part in Celine Dion’s devotion to her husband and family

2) With regard to the baby body parts scandals and the indictment of the undercover investigators there are some interesting developments. Isn't it enlightening to know that a prosecutor in the DA's office in Texas is on the board of directors for the local PP office and has been fundraising for them since 2009? Did that play a part in the Grand Jury decision to indict David Deleiden and Sandra Merritt?

Fr. Tom's Observations on a "Theology" that Dethrones Christ by Degrading His Teachings

How many Judases are in the Church today?
The following observations may be of interest to you, as we witness so many in our society seeking to supplant real virtue with virtual reality (including those seeking financial security through fantasy currency issued by the Fed).

God bless you!

Fr. Tom

---------------------------
The Church today is not only being attacked by many anti-Christs, but is also seriously infected with various forms of a-Christic theology, which seek to dethrone Christ by marginalizing Him and by degrading the integrity of His teachings. Among other things, such theologies tend to assert the following:
