The Loaded Language Church Militant Uses Against the SSPX

Do you read the dictionary? Look up calumny and slander!

My mom loved words. She loved words so much she used to read the dictionary. I absorbed a large vocabulary and impeccable grammar at my mother's knee. When I took the SATs in high school I scored high on English, not because I knew all the rules, but because I knew what "sounded right." I also learned to use words properly -- the right word at the right time in the right context. My mom never used loaded language to manipulate others; she was too honest. Words were too important not to treat them with respect and use them with integrity.

It's time to hold our bishops accountable -- at the airport if necessary!

When the bishops begin holding their brethren accountable, this will not be necessary. Why was Mahony allowed to address the body of bishops? That man has done more to undermine the Church in the United States than most. His West Coast Religious Education Conference continues to spread heresy and dissent. Fr. Richard Sparks, one of the speakers, is a living example of the mess in the Catholic Church in the U.S. He's an enabler if not an active participant.

Fr. James Martin, Are You Homosexual?

I've suspected it for a long time. Now Michael Voris is asking it publicly. Fr. Martin is a promoter of dissent. Well, he is a Jesuit after all. And he's a big promoter of homosexuality. Let's face it, the man doth protest too much. Out yourself, Fr. Martin. If homosexuals make better priests why not admit you are one. The reality is that homosexuals should NOT be priests. Even if they don't act on their homosexuality, their vision of the world is distorted. Fr. Martin illustrates it. Now let him answer the question.

The Vortex and One of My Favorite Bishops -- Rene Gracida...

...and one of my "least favorites," Cardinal Donald Wuerl.

Right on, Michael!  And for those who want to hear straight talk from Bishop Gracida including naming names of Catholic clergy who helped institutionalize the culture of death, watch this video on the "Virus of Proportionalism."

The Golden Calf in the U.S. and the Children of Satan: Make Reparation!

Remember what happened to the people of Israel when they made a golden calf? God promised to punish them, and, as their rebellion continued, they ended up wandering in the desert for 40 years until their evil generation died off. A trip that should have taken only a few weeks took 40 years!

How will God punish us for the abominations taking place in the U.S.? When idols to Satan are erected in major cities, one had best look for the judgment. But after all, we have to realize that after decades of human sacrifice to Satan (i.e., abortion and murder of the helpless handicapped and elderly), raising a statue to the evil one is anti-climactic.

But it shows how brazen the devil is becoming. No longer need he hide his evil. The culture celebrates him, rejecting the love and mercy of God and exchanging it for debauchery and slavery to sin. And those who don't necessarily celebrate, shrug their shoulders and talk about "tolerance" and "choice." Silence in the face of blasphemy against God is a serious evil. Mortal sins of omission are common today! Are you among the silent acquiescing, or even applauding, these evils?

Watch the two videos below and then consider what you will do to make reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary so wounded by our evil culture.

"O Almighty and Eternal God, look upon the Face of Thy Son Jesus. We present It to Thee with confidence, to implore Thy pardon. The All-Merciful Advocate opens His mouth to plead our cause; hearken to His cries, behold His tears, O God, and through His infinite merits hearken to Him when He intercedes for us poor miserable sinners. Amen."

Get Out the Smelling Salts! The Vortex on Sacred Heart Seminary

UPDATE 7-25: Mike Voris comes back addressing the criticism leveled at Church Militant TV after running the initial report. I can't disagree with any of Mike Voris' comments and his conclusion that men with same-sex attraction SHOULD NOT BE IN THE SEMINARY. If men in towels are an occasion of sin to seminarians, those men SHOULD NOT BE IN THE SEMINARY! Check out Voris' response here.

UPDATE 7-22: And then again...maybe not. I received this email from a friend. Sometimes you aren't sure who to believe. But in view of Mike Voris' own words about the excellent teaching at the seminary...well...did his source have an ax to grind? Of course, the same thing was said about Michael Rose's sources for Good-Bye, Good Men. (Sigh.)

Hi (name redacted), Here's an email the faculty received from Fr. Battersby, the Vice-rector of SHMS, regarding Michael Voris's ivdeo:
Dear Colleagues, Before I address Michael Voris' scurrilous account of a house meeting which I conducted in the fall of the 2014-2015 school year, I would like to pose a question. Should we be surprised that as we (Dr. Smith, et al) host a conference on the whole issue of SSA that the enemy would fire broadsides at us? Let's pray to St, Michael and St. Benedict for our protection, also, let us pray for the courage to resist an evil report. First, the statement attributed to a faculty member was a misquote of a statement I made to the Theology House.

Contraception: The Deadly Compromise between Politics and the Pro-Life Movement

I remember forty years ago when National Right to Life (NRLC) wouldn't say one word about contraception. Thinking with the world's mind, the leaders did not want to rock the boat and risk losing Protestant support. They also wouldn't cover the rescue movement. That's one reason a friend of mine, who was the editor of NRLC News in the late 70s, quit. The powers that be tied his hands and censored the news. That's why I've never contributed a cent to NRLC. They just don't get it.

The first comment to this Vortex from "Old Man in Ohio" is a sobering one:

Do You Worship the God of Truth or the God of Nice?

Is being "nice" an idol in your life? Do you go along with lies because you are afraid of offending somebody? Do you smother the truth to avoid criticism?

We are called to respect the dignity of every human person, but sometimes that requires us to state a truth in charity that will certainly offend somebody. To say, "What you are doing is wrong," may offend the person who wants to be affirmed in sin, but it is certainly the charitable way when someone is teetering on the brink of hell.

Be kind to everybody -- but love people enough to speak the truth in charity even when a person will accuse you of not being "nice," in fact, of being "mean." It is anything but mean to save somebody from careening over the abyss into the everlasting fires of hell.

Pray and sacrifice for sinners. As little Jacinta said after the Fatima apparition of hell, "We must pray for poor sinners" who, as the Blessed Mother told the children, are falling into hell like snowflakes.

Smuggling in Sodomy

And here's the promo for Mic'D Up tonight. I'm on during the opening introduction. A big thank you to all who were praying for me.

Is Universal Salvation Reasonable?

Literally? Hell no!

If everybody is saved...well, God must be a sadist. Why would He send His Son to redeem us by an excruciating death when, heck, sin is no big deal. Believing that universal salvation is reasonable is incredibly unreasonable to me.

I might be able to believe it

Sometimes You Just have to Call it Like it Is! Homosexual Activity is Depraved!

With the culture as morally polluted sexually as it is, not to mention hormonal pollution gushing into our water system, I think we will see more and more individuals with same sex attraction. After all, if fishes in our stream are being sexually deformed, do we really think birth control pills, viagra, etc. in the groundwater isn't affecting humans?

Nevertheless having a sick inclination never makes it okay to indulge in it. A person inclined to abuse alcohol or cheat on a spouse needs to resist temptation and struggle against evil just like all of us. A person with same sex attraction needs to cultivate healthy friendships and avoid occasions of sin and temptation. I thank God for the confessional where one can go and be strengthened against the world, the flesh, and the devil.

Pray for those enslaved by same sex attraction. They need our prayers and our healthy friendship, but they have no business in religious life. Mike Voris is right when he says they should "get out!." But I think they stay for more reasons than undermining the faith. The priesthood for a lazy man is a cushy lifestyle. And if you have a parish with loose financial accounting, it's a great place to line your pockets and build your little retirement nest egg. Even if you don't steal outright, lots of folks will be happy to "give Father little gifts" like the use of time shares and vacation cottages. Heck, I know a priest, now deceased, who used to receive season tickets to the Redskins and a car dealer in his parish gave him an SUV. Not bad, eh?

There are plenty of priests who are working hard for their flocks and sacrificing their lives for us, but the active homosexuals are not among them. And, believe me, every diocese has them, the bishop knows about them, and he turns a blind eye. Some hide behind orthodoxy; others promote dissent, especially in sexual matters, but they all undermine the faith of their parishioners.

Pray for the clergy every day. The devil works overtime to win them to his team.

Cut Off the Money to Bad Parishes and Dioceses

I've been saying this for years. The only thing some clergy understand is money. They have more faith in the almighty dollar than in Almighty God. So it's time to strip their idol, Mammon, from the altar. The way to do that? Stop giving. If your pastor spreads the faith, then financially support the parish. If he spreads heresy and persecutes faithful Catholics forget it.

For years, Larry and I have given our donations through the parish development collection because it is not assessed the diocesan tax. We don't give a nickel to the diocese. Does that mean we don't support some good things? Not necessarily. We can give to some of those things individually, e.g., by supporting the diocesan seminary directly or supporting an individual seminarian.

The situation in the Church today is terrible and Jesus knew it would happen. Hey, he had a traitor among his own twelve apostles! Fr. Hardon said often that Jesus did that to prepare us for apostate bishops. And we've certainly got them along with their weak sisters.

God help us. We need vigilant shepherds who protect us from the wolves. Where are they?

Yup! It's a Revolution and the Liberals have a Year to Spin and Spin....

....and make the faithful in the pews dizzy and dumb.

Review:

Define terms -- recognize when the revolutionaries are changing and distorting terms -- like
                          "gradualism"

Know the revolutionaries -- recognize the "subtle, sneaky types" in Roman collars who are using
feelings to undermine the faith and manipulate Catholics to accept the
                          revolutionaries' agenda

Study the Catechism and the Doctrine of the Church -- so you will recognize when you are getting a
snow job from one of the wolves in sheep's clothing

And Pray Always!

Thank God for the "Conservative Uprising!"

Two thumbs up for Michael Voris and Church Militant TV and their excellent coverage of the Synod. And yes, we do "care about the Church" and resent the way the secular media "spin stories." God bless all the faithful Catholic members of the press who helped create the orthodox (a better term) uprising. May Jesus Christ be praised, now and forever. Down with modernism, up with fidelity to Christ and the unchanging doctrine of the faith.

I Never Did Trust Fr. Jonathan Morris....

"Beware of celebrity clergy." Amen!

After my own experience being scandalized at a Catholic college, I used to tell my teenage children, "Just because someone is wearing a Roman collar doesn't mean he's telling you the truth."

Test the spirits.

Mary did when the angel appeared to her and seemed to be telling her to break her vow of virginity. His explanation (along with a reported miracle - the barren Elizabeth's pregnancy) led her to reply, "I am the maidservant of the Lord." And then she immediately went off as an apostle of charity to assist her cousin.

An absolute necessity today is CRITICAL THINKING. Not everyone in a doctor's lab coat knows what he's talking about when he gives you medical advice. Not every woman with the title "Sister" before her name can be trusted for spiritual advice.

Respect everyone as a child of God, but don't respect ideas and opinions that conflict with the faith.

Treat everyone with courtesy, but if they are promoting ridiculous ideas, a little ridicule of those ideas isn't a bad strategy.

Test the spritis! It's a biblical admonition.

Saddle Up and Don't Forget Your Rosary!

This episode of The Vortex brought back some great memories of a Catholic Media Coalition meeting several years ago where we met on a cattle ranch not far from Albuquerque. It was Springtime and calving season and a few of us rode out on horseback with the owner to check on the moms getting ready to drop their calves. The landscape looked just like the one through which Michael Voris is riding.

In many ways Catholics are in the desert these days. I think every mother and father should make it a priority to build a home that's a little oasis where the waters of grace can flow freely to make their precius little flowers thrive.

We can be fully aware of the cultural dangers and evils that confront us without losing a sense of humor or the joy in living. So take courage, pray with your family and friends, and never become discouraged or despair. Muscles only grow strong by resistance against force. Spiritual muscle is the same way. But be sure to find the oasis in the desert to refresh yourself for the continued journey!
