When I saw the statement about Real Catholic TV not being "approved" for World Youth Day I was not surprised at all. Of course the liberal bureaucrats at the USCCB (United States Conference of Catholic Bishops) don't approve. Faithful Catholics rock their dissident Catholic boat.
Look at the way they treat those who question grants issued by the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) to groups in bed with Planned Parenthood. Look at the high level officials who contribute to pro-abortion democrats, sit on the boards of pro-abortion organizations, and help to advance the culture of death. No wonder they went after hard-hitting, no apologies Real Catholic TV.
If you haven't seen the Madrid statement (no doubt written by a flunky at the USCCB) here is is. I found this part particularly interesting:
Participants in the World Youth Day 2011 Cultural Program must be recognized and endorsed by the Bishops and Episcopal Conferences of their respective countries. Participants were selected for Cultural program by the World Youth Day organization in close collaboration with the Pontifical Council for the Laity. Those groups participating in the World Youth Day 2011 Cultural Festival have been selected because, through their various activities, they promote the authentic teaching and unity of the Roman Catholic Church and have been endorsed by their local Bishop and Espiscopal conference. Michael Voris, "Real Catholic TV" and "No Bull in Madrid" did not receive such endorsement from their Bishop or Episcopal Conference. This statement clearly implies that Real Catholic TV does not merit the approval of the "Episcopal Conference" which is the USCCB. The implication is that they do not stand for the "authentic teaching and unity" of the Church. What a joke from the USCCB with their history of scheduling dissenters for various meetings of their departments and even for the bishops themselves.
The USCCB has a record of persecuting orthodox Catholics. I've prayed the rosary often outside the November meeting of the U.S. bishops in both Washington, D.C. when they met on Capitol Hill and in Baltimore near Harbor Place. Several years we held signs begging the bishops to withhold Communion from pro-abortion politicians. The response of the bureaucracy one year was to get a horse-drawn carriage up on the sidewalk to block us while the bishops were boarding the buses to go to the opening Mass at the Basilica. While clearly wanting to keep us as far away from the bishops as possible, they weren't altogether successful. Several bishops, including Archbishop Chaput, thanked us for being there.
Several years ago, the Catholic Media Coalition of which I'm president, rented a hospitality suite at the Baltimore hotel and met with about a dozen bishops during the four day meeting. We attempted to get press credentials representing The Wanderer. Initially the press office said yes and told us to pick up our credentials the next morning. When we arrived, they informed us they had changed their mind because we were "lobbyists." Their proof was the fact that we passed out invitations (in the lobby) for bishops to visit the suite. When we politely and calmly questioned their decision, they threatened us with arrest and ordered us out of the area. That is the m.o. of the USCCB bullies whose actions against Real Catholic TV are predictable and petty. As for their deep concern about the "authentic faith and unity" of the Church, there's little evidence of that among some high level bureaucrats at the USCCB. Study the material at Reform CCHD Now and Stephanie Block's work at SperoForum for some eye-opening (and sad) revelations about the bishops' bureaucracy. Of particular interest is her article on John Carr.
The USCCB targeting of Real Catholic TV is actually an encouraging development as far as I'm concerned. The fact that the USCCB Goliath singled out this little media David for persecution illustrates the very real impact Voris and his organization are having on liberal Catholics whose grip on the Church bureaucracy is slipping. So go fight the bull in Madrid, Mike. And keep that red cape close by as a sign of your fidelity to the Holy Spirit and Holy Mother Church. And all of us faithful Catholic stay-at-homes will be praying you touch many hearts!

Les Femmes and many.
I will pray, too.
The amusing thing about this is that Voris hadn't asked to be approved. Pretty funny when your enemies preempt. It exposes them for the bigots that they are.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I'm concerned their snarky comment gave Michael Voris the Good Housekeeping seal of approval.
ReplyDeleteI just don't understand your support of Voris and your disdain for the legitimate hierarchy of the church. Voris is a reactionary who has publicly stated that he is against our church leaders and our government though he was quick to remove links to such comments when they went viral. He thinks that he alone can interpret church doctrine correctly and speak for "True" catholics? Sounds like a heretic to me. I also see how his sly attacks against recognized church organizations try to undermine all church authority. I won't drink the Voris Koolaid. If one is so unhappy with the leadership of the church, then perhaps one should leave it.
ReplyDeleteLes femmes also needs to correct the USCCB on the issue of extra ecclesiam nulla salus.
ReplyDeleteEven Real Catholic TV needs to recognize it and deal with it.
A major problem is that thousands of Catholics consider the baptism of desire as explicitly known to us in the present times and so they assume it contradicts the dogma. The USCCB also considers implicit salvation as explicit and known to us.

Mike V.
ReplyDeleteWhen have I ever shown disdain for the "legitimate hierarchy of the Church?" And when has Mike Voris? The ones showing disdain for the "legitimate hierarchy" are those most responsible for defending it -- unfaithful bishops and clergy.
Individual bishops and clergy are the ones showing disdain - like the 300 Austrian priests who recently joined a "Call to Disobedience." Others include bishops who treat doctrine as if it's optional and sow confusion.
Since you are commenting on a post about the USCCB, I'm curious as to whether you think they are part of the "legitimate hierarchy." They are not, and in fact, they are part of an illegitimate and often unfaithful "shadow magisterium." I could give many examples, but will just mention two: 1) the document Always Our Children which was issued without the bishops' approval and has been used to advance the "gay" agenda, and 2) Catholic Campaign for Human Development which has been used to funnel money into liberal causes and elect pro-abortion politicians.
I have never heard Mike Voris claim to speak for the Church. What he does is articulate and defend the doctrine, the job of every Catholic who's been confirmed as a "soldier of Christ." If you want to call him a heretic or dissenter, prove it. I have never heard him "interpret" doctrine in any way other than that promulgated by the popes and the legitimate magisterium.
Maybe you are the one drinking the liberal Kool-Aid.
A reactionary! That's rich. Never hurts to borrow the terminology employed by the Communists on more than a few occasions when attempting to pull the same stunts.

WORLD YOUTH DAY : QUESTIONS UNANSWERED BY RealCatholicTV
ReplyDeleteRealCatholicTV has produced a video on the Catholic Church being the one, true Church for salvation yet so many questions are unanswered.(Only Catholics in Heaven http://youtu.be/2Dcfj0PU_JQ ) There is so much confusion among Catholics on this subject.
1. Are all Protestants and Orthodox Catholics on the way to Hell as states the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus?
2. Does the Church still teach that all Hindus, Jews, Muslims and other non Christians, with no exception are on the path to Hell, unless they convert into the Church?
3. Venerable Pope Pius XII in the Letter of the Holy Office 1949 referred to the ‘dogma’, the ‘infallible teaching’. Through ‘the dogma’ was the pope saying all non Catholics in Boston need to convert into the Catholic Church to avoid Hell?
4. Can implicit baptism of desire be known to us 'explicitly' in particular cases, so it contradicts the dogma?
5. If only Jesus knows who is saved in invincible ignorance then how can Lumen Gentium 16, Vatican Council II contradict the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus?
6. How can the secular media claim that Fr. Leonard Feeney was excommunicated for heresy when he was repeating exactly what was taught by the Church Councils, popes and saints on the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus?
7. When the secular media, Reuters for example, claims that the Catholic Church has changed its teaching, after Vatican Council II, regarding other religions, where is the text in Vatican Council II for the basis of this false claim?
8. Where in Nostra Aetate, Vatican Council II is it said that non Catholic religions are paths to salvation or that non Catholics can be saved in general in their religion?
9. Why in all the Catholic Churches in the USA do they proclaim Jesus without the Church; without the necessity of membership in the Church for salvation?
So when the RealCatholic TV team talk to youth at the World Youth Day in Spain, young people could ask, “Why is abortion wrong when the Protestants allow it and they are all going to Heaven according to the Catholic Church?”, “If the Church can change its teaching on extra ecclesiam nulla salus can it not do so also on contraception?”, “If all Hindus, Muslims and , Buddhists are not going to Hell with mortal sins on their soul what is wrong with contraception ?”, “Even Lutherans who dress immodestly will go to Heaven if they are in invincible ignorance? The dogma indicated originally that they are all, with no exception, on the way to Hell now you make an exception with invincible ignorance or the baptism of desire? Like you can also make an exception for immodesty in clothes and wilful lust as not being a mortal sin?”
“All roads lead to Heaven, like, you don’t say on Real Catholic TV that all the Jehovah’s Witnesses and Pentecostals are damned to Hell?”
“I mean if Vatican Council II has changed Church teaching on outside the Church there is no salvation, then I guess, everything is open to change?”
“If it is prudent, expedient and politically safe for you to deny an ex cathedra dogma cannot I have reasons also to abort?”

REAL CATHOLIC TV ADMINISTRATION IN CONFUSION OVER DOGMA EXTRA ECCLESIAM NULLA SALUS
http://eucharistandmission.blogspot.com/2011/07/real-catholic-tv-administration-in.html#links
So if a person never hears of the Catholic Church he is going to hell because he doesn't join it even though he knows nothing about it?
ReplyDeleteIf a person never hears of the Catholic Church and is in invincible ignorance he can be saved however only God will know who this person is. So invincible ignornance does not contradict the ex cathedra dogma Cantate Domino etc.
ReplyDeleteREAL CATHOLIC TV RESPONDS
ReplyDeleteRealCatholicTV has sent me the link of Dr. Brenner’s talk on salvation. They have responded to the posts addressed to them. They still seem unable to do a program on the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus.
They could begin by pointing out that the two objective errors on Wikipedia.
Wikipedia implies that Lumen Gentium 16 (invincible ignorance) is an exception to the dogma and so this is the teaching today of the Catholic Church.
1. According to Wikipedia, the Catholic Church does not teach anymore that everyone needs to be a visible member of the Church for salvation and
2. all those who are saved are saved today through Jesus and the Church, implying those saved implicitly are known to us and so they contradict the dogma. The dogma indicates everyone with no exception needs to be an explicit, formal member of the Church.
Of course we believe all those who are saved are saved through Jesus and the Church. We also believe that everyone needs to be a visible member of the Church of salvation. There is no contradiction between the two statements. Wikipedia implies there is a contradiction.
3. There is no mention of the text of the dogma Cantate Domino Council of Florence. Cantate Domino for centuries said everyone needs to be a visible member of the Church for salvation.
Real Catholic TV could do a program on this subject.
1. It could show the text of Cantate Domino and how it was interpreted over the centuries.
2. It could show how Vatican Council II does not contradict the dogma since we do not know any particular case saved in invincible ignorance, a good conscience, partial communion with the church etc.Implicit salvation is only known to God.
3. It can show how Wikipedia’s claim that everyone does not have to be a member of the Church for salvation is wrong. It is an interpretation. A new doctrine.
Please remember that Pope Pius XII in the Letter of the Holy Office 1949 to the Archbishop of Boston supported Fr. Leonard Feeney when he referred to ‘the dogma’, the ‘infallible’ statement. The dogma Cantate Domino indicates every non Catholic in Boston needs to convert into the Catholic Church to avoid Hell. This is the same message as that of Fr. Leonard Feeney.
Fr. Leonard Feeney from Boston also said that there is no baptism of desire that we can know of. So the baptism of desire does not contradict the dogma.
Neither are we likely to meet a person in Boston saved with the baptism of blood (martyrdom). This is irrational but this is what Wikipedia implies and it is accepted by Catholics.
These are objective factual errors of Wikipedia. They need to be pointed out.
There are so many religious Congregations in Rome, ask some of them what did the founders of their Congregation believe in – the ‘strict interpretation’ of extra ecclesiam nulla salus or the Wikipidia version?
Since Wikipedia considers implicit baptism of desire etc as explicitly known in particular cases it would mean Vatican Council II and the popes contradict themselves. Lumen Gentium 14 (all need Catholic Faith and the baptism of water for salvation) is contradicted by Lumen Gentium 15 and 16 (implicit salvation explcitly known to us).Pope Pius XII in the Letter of the Holy Office 1949 affirms ‘the dogma’ (‘strict interpretation’) and also denies it with an ‘explicit’ baptism of desire. It would mean he affirms Cantate Domino and also denies it with an explicitly known baptism of desire. It would mean Pope John Paul II in the Catechism of the Catholic Church N.1257 says every one needs explicit baptism of water for salvation but some people do not ‘explicitly’ need the Sacraments.
It would be rational to say every body needs the baptism of water for salvation and there could be those saved implicitly and who are known only to God.
This irrationality is a major cause of dissent and confusion in the Church. http://eucharistandmission.blogspot.com/2011/08/see-difference.html

4. Would you agree with the Catholic priests?
5. Do you agree with Cantate Domino?

SECULAR CATECHESIS FOR CATHOLICS : NO ONE OBJECTS IN THE MEDIA
http://eucharistandmission.blogspot.com/2011/08/secular-catechesis-for-catholics-no-one.html
SECULAR CATECHESIS FOR CATHOLICS : NO ONE OBJECTS IN THE MEDIA
Wikipedia makes two major errors on the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus and no one points it out to them.
1.
The Roman Catholic Church also teaches that the doctrine does not mean that everyone who is not visibly within the Church is necessarily damned .-Wikipedia
Defacto every one needs to enter the Church for salvation according to the dogma Cantate Domino, Council of Florence .
If there is any one saved who is not a visible member of the Catholic Church it would be known only to God. We do not know any such case on earth and so it does not contradict the dogma Cantate Domino.
2.
This affirmation is not aimed at those who, through no fault of their own, do not know Christ and His Church:
"Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience — those too may achieve eternal salvation" (Second Vatican Council, Lumen Gentium, 16).-Wikipedia
We do not know anyone saved on earth ‘through no fault of their own…’. So they are not an exception to the dogma which says every one with no exception needs to be a visible member of the Catholic Church to avoid Hell.

ReplyDeleteHere is Cantate Domino from Wikipedia itself.
Pope Eugene IV, Cantate Domino (1441): "The most Holy Roman Church firmly believes, professes and preaches that none of those existing outside the Catholic Church, not only pagans, but also Jews and heretics and schismatics, can have a share in life eternal; but that they will go into the "eternal fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels" (Matthew 25:41), unless before death they are joined with Her; and that so important is the unity of this ecclesiastical body that only those remaining within this unity can profit by the sacraments of the Church unto salvation, and they alone can receive an eternal recompense for their fasts, their almsgivings, their other works of Christian piety and the duties of a Christian soldier. No one, let his almsgiving be as great as it may, no one, even if he pour out his blood for the Name of Christ, can be saved, unless he remain within the bosom and the unity of the Catholic Church."-Wikipedia, extra ecclesiam nulla salus (Emphasis added)
So acording to the dogma every non Catholic needs to be a visible member of the Catholic Church for salvation.
The dogma says every one needs to enter the Church while Wikipedia suggests the opposite.
Catholics need to speak out against this error in Wikipedia and the secular media.

Catholics are called to evangelize and bring as many people to the faith as possible - beginning with their own families. I like to think of myself as the young man in the fairy tale carrying the golden goose. Every time someone touches the goose or those touching the goose they get "stuck" and can't let go. That's my vision of our duty. To bring as many to Christ through the Church as possible by helping them desire the gold that is our faith and then sticking with it.
ReplyDeleteHopefully, every Catholic will have a long string of folks evangelized and travelling along with them on the narrow road to heaven. Sadly, many within the Church have sowed the road with rocks and stumbling blocks beginning with many of our bishops and celebrity cafeteria Catholics. It makes our job harder but all the more necessary.
Would you tell them, in our families, that we know personal cases of non Catholics saved who have not had the Gospel preached to them through no fault of their own, who are in invincible ignorance?

ReplyDeleteDAPHNE MCLEOD COMMENT A BOMBSHELL FOR ENGLISH BISHOPS?
The Church teaches after Vatican Council II that all the non Catholic participants at Assisi today are oriented to Hell and there are no exceptions.
Daphne McLeod is not playing the Lumen Gentium 16 game and the bishops should have noticed it. Her comments are on the internet and English bloggers could be picking it up by now.
She has united the Catholic traditionalist movement and pointed to a major cause of dissent and confusion in the Catholic Church.
She has brought the explicitly-implicit baptism of desire non-sense out in the open and to the attention of Catholics. She has not repeated the meaningless mantra ‘except for those in invincible ignorance and the baptism of desire’. She has not fallen for the LG 16 ruse of the liberals.
We cannot meet anyone on the street saved with the baptism of desire, in invincible ignorance, a good conscience, ‘who has not had the Gospel preached to him through no fault of his own’, saved in partial as compared to full communion with the Church. It is only God who can judge who ‘knows’ about the Church and yet does not enter and who is in invincible ignorance. The dogma outside the Church there is no salvation and Vatican Council II (LG 14,AG 7) tell us that everyone needs to convert into the Catholic Church; to enter with Catholic Faith and the Baptism of water. The exceptions do not make the rule. The exceptions are not the ordinary means of salvation. The ordinary means of salvation is Catholic Faith and the baptism of water (Redemptoris Missio 55, Lumen Gentium 14, Ad Gentes 7).Most important, the exceptions are only hypothetical, they are not de facto exceptions to the dogma.
It’s true that all who are saved are saved through Jesus and the Church and this teaching does not contradict the dogma i.e. it is necessary that everyone enter the Church with no exceptions.
False reasoning assumes we are God and can judge. We reason that billions are oriented to Hell because this is the teaching of the Church. It is only the Catholic Church that has the ‘fullness of the truth’ and is the only moral authority. It is this Church which has been guided by the Holy Spirit to proclaim consistent teachings since the time of Jesus and the Apostles until today. The ‘great religions’ are false paths to salvation.
Jesus called this Church “my church” and said the ‘gates of Hell shall not prevail against it’. Other religions have ‘deficiencies, errors and superstition’ (Dominus Iesus) and the gates of Hell are open for all their members. This includes, those who believe in Jesus and do not do His will by entering in the Catholic Church and remaining in it. -Lionel Andrades

NON CATHOLICS CAN BE SAVED IN INVINCIBLE IGNORANCE, BAPTISM OF DESIRE AND IT DOES NOT CONTRADICT THE DOGMA EXTRA ECCLESIAM NULLA SALUS- Daphne McLeod, Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice, England

ReplyDeleteDID THE LETTER OF THE HOLY OFFICE 1949 CONTRADICT THE DOGMA EXTRA ECCLESIAM NULLA SALUS? NO
The Letter of the Holy Office only mentions the baptism of desire as did the Council of Trent. It does not say that the baptism of desire is explicitly known to us. It did not say that it was an exception to the dogma. Neither does the Council of Trent make this claim.
The Letter of the Holy Office supported Fr. Leonard Feeney by referring to ‘the dogma’, the ‘infallible teaching’. The dogma Cantate Domino, Council of Florence indicates all non Catholics in Boston and the rest of the world are oriented to Hell unless they convert into the Catholic Church.
There are three defined dogmas on extra ecclesiam nulla salus. All three agree with Fr. Leonard Feeney. The three dogmas http://catholicism.org/category/outside-the-church-there-is-no-salvation on extra ecclesiam nulla salus state as does Fr. Leonard Feeney that every one needs to be a visible member of the Church for salvation i.e. every one needs Catholic Faith and the baptism of water.
They do not mention any exceptions as the baptism of desire etc since it is known that they are always implicit and not exceptions to the dogma. This was also Fr. Leonard Feeney's teaching.
The Letter of the Holy Office does not specifically say that he was excommunicated for heresy it mentions disobedience. One has to assume that he was excommunicated for heresy.
St. Pius XII uses the standard defacto-dejure analysis in the Letter of the Holy Office 1949. The secular media interprets the Letter with the defacto-defacto model. It seems irrational. It does not make sense.
For example:
De facto-dejure model
The Letter of the Holy Office 1949 refers to the dogma and so says that everyone de facto needs to enter the Church for salvation and there are no defacto exceptions. It also says de jure, in principle and known only to God, a non Catholic can be saved with the baptism of desire ‘in certain circumstances’ (Letter of the Holy Office 1949).
Defacto-defacto model
The Letter of the Holy Office 1949 according to the secular media says every one de facto needs to enter the Church for salvation and there are de facto exceptions.
For the media and the liberals there are those who can be saved defacto with the baptism of desire which is defacto known to us.If the defacto-dejure analysis is not used some Magisterial texts would appear odd.
The defacto-dejure analysis is not a new theology. It’s a philosophical way of looking at things. The defacto- dejure analysis is used in theology. It’s a rational way of analysis. It clarifies for instance what is known, with what can be potentially known. It clarifies what is known in actuality (defacto) with what is known as a possibility (dejure).
Whether we are aware of it or not, we could be using either the defacto-dejure analysis or the irrational defacto-defacto model.
The defacto-dejure analysis was used in Vatican Council II, the Catechism of the Catholic Church etc. It does not contradict the Principle of Non Contradiction.
