Thanksgiving: It All Started with the Grateful Catholic Explorers

The Catholic Origins of Thanksgiving

What better way to begin the day than go to Mass and thank the giver of the gift. Eucharist means "thanksgiving." And today, the best way to say thank you is to join at Mass to offer to God His own Son, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.

Give thanks to the Lord for He is good; His love is everlasting!

     Happy Thanksgiving!

  1. Thanksgiving is a Protestant festival! Therefore, it is not Christian! Please read Pieper's _Leisure, the Basis of Culture_. Protestants are not Christians, strictly speaking.

  2. Can you please point to an authoritative Church document to back up your statement that Protestants aren't Christian? I don't think Joseph Pieper qualifies much as I admire his writing.

  3. Thanksgiving comes from the Puritans. It is not Catholic!
