The latest hoax being pushed by the Democrats was sparked by the removal of Senator Padilla from Christi Noem's press conference after loudly interrupting her opening statement and moving toward the podium as he shouted. He identified himself as a U.S. senator. Even if he did, how could security personnel be sure it was true? Do you recognize him as a U.S. senator? Was that a ploy to get close to the Secretary? Did he have a weapon? Padillo was acting like the proverbial bull in a china shop moving aggressively toward the podium and resisting any efforts by security to stop him.
Does being a U.S. senator give Padilla the right to loudly interrupt a press conference instead of waiting for the Q. and A. portion? He could have made an appointment with Noem to ask his questions. But that wouldn't get the massive attention and offer the opportunity for the Democrat media machine to spin the event as tyranny.
Let's face it, folks, this was all about attention grabbing and Padilla trying to make himself a martyr. Padilla's behavior was boorish and inappropriate. If he did that on the senate floor, chances are he would be rebuked and perhaps even held in contempt of Congress. He resisted removal and engaged in pushing back and forth with security as he continued to yell.
Was Padilla treated any differently than any other protester would be treated who interrupted a meeting? Yes. He wasn't arrested or charged with anything. He was temporarily handcuffed because of his resistance.
And now he's the darling of the moment getting his fifteen minutes of fame for his bravery over going in and disrupting a press conference like the bully he is.
That's the M.O. of Democrats. Chuck Schumer could threaten Supreme Court justices with impunity. Maxine Waters can urge her minions to violent attacks on administration people simply going to a restaurant or filling up at a gas stateion. Kamala Harris can enable and encourage riots. Do any of them pay a price for their insurrection? No! Do any of them get charged for their insider trading enriching themselves often at taxpayer expense? Just remember:
Especially the liberal pigs at the trough! And that goes for all greedy political pigs on the other side of the aisle as well.
In the spirit of the beautiful Christmas passage of wishing, "Peace on earth good will to all,"
ReplyDeleteI would like to share a similar passage from my tradition.
It is from the Metta Sutta:
"Wishing in gladness and in safety may all beings be at ease. Let none deceive another nor despise any being in any state. Let none through anger or ill will wish harm upon another... Radiating goodwill to the entire world. Spreading upwards to the skies and downwards to the depths outwards and unbounded free from hatred and ill well."
May no harm come to anyone today - neither to those you love nor to those you may not love.
Through the merciful heart of any you turn to as a source of strength.
As Oscar Wilde said from prison,
"I am not concerned that my heart will be broken; hearts are meant to be broken. I am concerned that my heart may grow cold and hard like these prison walls."
Best wishes today and every day!
In the interests of accuracy the Christmas quote is "Peace on earth to men of good will." Are Maxine and Nancy women of good will?
Delete1: “Peace on earth good will to all”.
Delete2: “Peace on earth to men of good will”. (DRB)
Two fundamentally different meanings - and importantly so.
One is Bhuddist (no God, only impersonal and random nature, within which we all reign in our own ways); the other is Christian (God is Creator and sovereign Lord to whom we owe our current lives and redemption into eternal life in obedience to the King, His Law and His will).
One ends (in Nirvana) in oblivion and absorption. The other ends in bliss and communion.
One is the speculative philosophy of a middling man; the other is the direct and ongoing revelation of God to His creatures, personally, over 5,000 years.
One is a holiday card sentiment. The other is the outstretched hand of Almighty God to Mankind.
God extends His goodwill to all who repent of their evil deeds, confess Him, believe in Him, submit to and follow Him, through God’s grace, in cooperative righteousness … but not to anyone else. Outside of those terms, there is no peace in this life or the next - which is obvious from looking at the suffering souls who have most completely lost Him who loves them most.
I have been taught that goodwill and ill will are 2 sides of a coin. So if I have felt ill well I am capable of recognizing both in myself and cultivating a change of attitude towards goodwill the minute I sense illwill arising - but it requires paying close attention to my own mind and heart.
DeleteThe more I practice paying attention the more I can turn my ill will, or at least soften it, towards goodwill.
Since I believe everyone has this capacity, yes, I think these ladies are ladies of good will, as are you.
I have also been taught that the only mind I can truly read, the only individual's intention I can fully understand, is my own. Everything else is speculation - unless I ask outloud.
My journey is to maintain my good will and the more I practice the more I can sustain a continuity of goodwill even in difficult times. Still working on it - even working on presuming good will. I try to practice that here. Much benevolent, well-wishing good will and peace to you all.
BTW I am a woke, bleeding hearted liberal progressive Democrat. I ask for your good will rather than harsh judgement. I ask to be allowed to practice my spiritual path and my first amendment rights as a US citizen and sister to Mary and daughter of our beloved mother Margaret and father Ray, who both knew of and supported my free will.
DeleteMetta always and to all during these terribly unsettling times.
So you think drug traffickers, child sex traffickers, murderers, rapists, etc. are people of good will?
DeleteSusie, don’t get me wrong. The urge to extend goodwill to all is not a bad thing - the movement of conscience towards extending goodness to others is actually a movement from God Himself … as such it is very good, as far is it goes. The problem comes when a) that’s as far is it goes, or, b) goodwill is connected to Christianity as if that were its solution, when it is not - it is a movement toward God, but it is a long, long way from finding God who is, after all, the only solution to all of mankind’s desperate problems.
DeleteYou mention Oscar Wilde’s quote that our hearts are meant to be broken - better that than to grow hard and cold. That is true, as far is it goes. God breaks our hearts so that thereby, in the suffering of a heart that yearns for something it cannot find (Someone?), it will reach out in its desperate yearnings and thereby attain the singular chance of finding Him who wants to heal that heart, satisfy that heart, Love that heart in a way only that heart’s Maker can. Breaking the wounded heart is the first step towards healing the wounded heart.
Oscar Wilde searched desperately for ways to fill his yearning heart no less, it seems, than St Augustine who nearly went mad at the gaping “God-sized hole” within needing to be filled. St Augustine found God, was filled, found Love, found peace, was Beatified, is now in heaven. Oscar Wilde tried to fill that same sized hole with every form of luxury and depravity and went mad, ultimately dying of a syphilitic ear-brain abscess at age 47.
My point is not scold - *far from it*. My point is that *there is no solution*, outside of Jesus Christ, who left heaven for the specific purpose of filling the hearts of desperately sad and wicked men and women and allowing them the spiritual medicine, the ONLY medicine that will serve this purpose of filling, satisfying, healing, bringing happiness now and forever. All these obviously, desperately unhappy people in this world can only find true Love and peace in Jesus Christ - the proof is in the infinite variety of experience, lives and conversions of the bi-millennial Body of Christ, the Holy Roman Catholic Church. Literally thousands of years of lives saved, redeemed, transformed - the stories of salvation (including my own, which is miraculous if I were to tell you all) are almost endless.
I send you back goodwill. Trust me when I say - so does Jesus. He left heaven for that singular purpose - redemption and salvation out of pure, infinite love for His highest creations.
I was thinking about your original comment, my last response, the desperate longing in peoples’ hearts to fill the “God-sized hole” burning deep inside but which gets more painful the further they turn to remedies that are not of the Triune God.
DeleteAnd I came across this absolutely fascinating review of the “Mad Men” tv series, which I have never watched. But the summary of the point of this series spoke directly to the poignant sorrow and desperation that is afflicting so many in our society - searching and searching for they not what.
Emptiness - the end of this life as it is lived by so many - just empty. And it leads to insanity and rage, I think.

Susie, disagreement does not imply character judgment. A teacher who corrects a child's math problem is not judging the child's character, simply the wrong answer. When you love others, your desire is for all to come to knowledge of the truth.
DeleteWhen you have two mutually exclusive possibilities they can both be wrong, but they can't both be right. Your tradition was the Catholic faith in which you were brought up. You have the "free will" to reject it. I am confident, however, that Mom and Dad are praying for you to return to the Catholic tradition in which they raised us. Neither Mom or Dad believed Buddha had the answers to life's challenges.
Well, Susie, Democrats, by their words and actions, apparently never heard of the Metta Sutta for they are not "able and upright, humble (hahah) and not conceited." Nor are they "peaceful and calm and wise and skillful." They especially are NOT "not proud and demanding in nature" for being proud and demanding is an ingrained characteristic of Democrats. An inherent attribute. A built-in feature. A structural instinction.
