Two weeks ago while browsing at an antique market I spotted a pewter model of an unborn baby which turned out to be Parke-Davis' 1960 advertisement for Tabron, an iron supplement to help women through pregnancy. The Catholic seller gave me a good price saying he wanted it to be with a pro-life person.

It's an amazing sculpture weighing 2 pounds and is highly realistic. Looking at it, no one on the face of the earth could deny the baby's humanity. This is definitely a human person. This is not a clump of cells, not a non-human "thing". This is a living human being developing through the first nine months of life in what should be the safest place - his or her mother's womb.

This baby is about to be born. The sculpture is upside down mainly for viewing purposes, but by turning it with the cervix at the bottom we can see the baby's head positioned ready to be born. It's precisely at this stage of life that a human person can be murdered. Legally. Protected by law. An abortionist such as Cesare Santangelo cuts the baby's umbilical cord (maybe) then stabs a knife into the child's brain after which the abortion contract serial killer mutilates and disembowels his victim, methodically carving him or her up into little pieces. After that, the pieces of human body parts are either burned or gathered up, put on ice or in a jar and sold to hospitals or research centers.

Well...duh!

Poor man.is upset because the law would link abortion with a situation that causes "moral outrage." Wouldn't that be a switch? And isn't it about time that it did? If I ripped apart a cat the way abortionists rip up babies, I'd be in jail. If I smashed a turtle egg on a protected beach, I'd be in jail. If I climbed up a tree and pitched an eagle's egg out of the nest, I'd be in jail. If I dropped a dog in a vat of acid and burned off his skin, I'd be in jail.

How come the worst atrocities, that would never be tolerated if done to animals, are allowed to be done to babies?

Pray for abortionist Harmen Van Der Woude

I'm conflicted today. This morning before Mass I heard that the abortionist who runs the mill next door to AAA Women for Choice, the crisis pregnancy center (CPC) where I used to volunteer, is dying. Harmen Van Der Woude is an atheist who used to send the director of our CPC articles about natural disasters with margin notes like -- "Is this what your loving God does to his children?" Pat had at least a dozen of these which I always thought indicated his conscience wasn't quite dead. After all, if he was so sure of what he was doing why bother?

We could hear the suction machine through the thin walls and used to play sacred music for our own sake and those in the killing rooms. I was glad I usually worked on the days there were no abortions. But I met some of Van Der Woude's victims, the living ones. One morning I counseled a young woman in her twenties who ended up in the emergency room following her abortion next door. Van Der Woude  perforated her uterus and the hospital had to clean up the mess. She had a total hysterectomy to save her life - in her 20s! I urged her to sue, and said we could put her in touch with people who would help. As a single mom she could use the money to help support her living children. She told me she deserved what happened for what she did to her baby. "No one deserves that," I replied.

I don't think I've ever met someone so sad. I spoke to her of God's love and forgiveness, but my words couldn't penetrate her self-loathing. Please pray for her. To this day, I can see her pretty face stricken with pain. Another woman came in who also aborted next door. She said she didn't feel right and was having pain and went back a week or so after the abortion. The nurse did a sonogram and looked worried. She told her to come back later when the doctor was there, but said don't go to the emergency room. Fortunately, the woman didn't listen and went to the hospital. She had a major infection and had to be on IV antibiotics for massive septicemia. That is the reality of "safe, legal abortion."

 Van Der Woude's wife Elizabeth is a lapsed Catholic who had a cordial relationship with our director. I was there once when Elizabeth brought a young woman over who was beyond the point they did abortions. Too risky. "I could send them to D.C.," she said defensively. On another day I was outside washing windows  when she arrived and said "Good morning." I replied, sardonically I confess. "It will be a good morning for us, not for you." It made her angry. Well, how does one greet someone coming in to begin the morning kill?

Yes, I am conflicted about Harmen's condition? My feelings say, "Good-bye, good riddance, and go to hell, Harmen! Now you meet your maker and all the little victims you butchered." I'm not proud of those feelings. There's a lot of the older brother of the prodigal son in my makeup, sad to say. "You did the crime; now serve the time" -- in a very hot place. Then I remember my own sins and the fact that one unrepented mortal sin can send a soul to hell. Mea culpa! And thank you, Lord, for Confession.

I know God sees Harmen as a son, a beloved son who went very wrong. Jesus grieved on the cross seeing the sins each one of us, including Harmen, would commit. He must have grieved especially for those who would die in final rejection of His love. So I have to resist my feelings and pray for Harmen to receive the grace of final repentance. No one is beyond God's grace no matter how evil a life he's led, even Harmen.

I prayed for him at Mass and I'll be offering my rosary today as well, that Harmen will repent and reach out to God. I suspect all the little ones he killed and his poor neglected guardian angel will join me. I hope you will too. No one should rejoice in the eternal loss of a brother, even the blackest sheep of the family.

Former Tiller Employee Says He Killed Mostly Healthy Babies

George Tiller the late-term abortionist liked to present himself as a person who truly cared about women and was willing to risk his life so women carrying very sick and deformed babies could get safe abortions. But that's not what a former employee says. Luhra Tivis tells how she was taught high pressure marketing techniques to sell abortions on the phone and that most of the third trimester babies Tiller killed were normal and healthy.

Tivis' horrifying tale is consistent with those of others, like Carol Everett, who have left the abortion industry. Tiller was not above lying about gestational age to get around Kansas' late-term abortion limits. In an undercover operation a woman known only as "Shaye" who was about 25 weeks pregnant went to Tiller's facility. Here's what happened next according to LifeSiteNews:

"In a sworn statement Shaye said that a WHCS [Women's Health Care Services] employee conducted her sonogram and determined that her baby was 24 weeks, 6 days gestation, past the threshold of viability. The Tiller employee then tore up those ultrasound photos and threw them into the trash. She took new measurements, telling Shaye her baby was only 23 weeks gestation.

"Shaye then easily obtained an appointment for an abortion without having to see the second physician required by law for post-viability abortions.

"In order to confirm the actual fetal age of Shaye's baby, she received two more sonograms on that same day, both of which indicated the baby was beyond 24 weeks gestation.

"Shaye had made WHCS aware that both she and her baby were healthy and that the pregnancy was without complications. She did not receive the abortion only because she did not show up for the abortion appointment."

Abortion is a filty business - murder for hire - run by white-coated bottom feeders who love big bucks. Most abortionists kill children for the money. If you doubt it read the stories of those who sold abortions for a living. Many of them openly admit it. And pray for abortionists to repent. It must be a terrible thing to face God on Judgment Day with an unrepentant heart and hands covered with the blood of the innocent.

One of the Greatest Arguments against Shooting Abortionists

Some of the most eloquent voices in the pro-life movement are former abortionists. Dr. Bernard Nathanson oversaw the murder of at least 60,000 babies in the largest abortuary in the country in New York City. He aborted his own child. Since his conversion from pro-abortion to pro-life he has been an eloquent voice for life. Consider the impact George Tiller could have had if he had followed in Nathanson's footsteps. Pray for the conversion of abortionists. There is no sin too big for God's forgiveness.
